I agree apart from the fact the NY Head coaches had been permanent fixtures with their teams. Philbin has only just got settled and this has happened. That might go against Philbin.
If the Richie's dad stuff is true, then it explains a lot. If you tried to commit suicide 3 times, then you aren't right in the head, double that if you have a drug abuse problem.. This could be why he drove himself the hospital after the incident, he feared he was going to hurt himself. Incognito doesn't seem like a the devil in this scenario, he was just going the normal stuff that guys do to each other. This is evident by the fact that other players like Shelby and Chaz Alecxih have stuck up for him on Twitter.
Tony Dungy and Dan Patrick were discussing the fact that Martin was considered "soft" emotionally coming out of college - and Dungy noted that a lot of guys just don't have the toughness to make it in the NFL. (without defending Incognito - of whom he was critical - had him on the "do not draft / character" list on his draft board - DNDC). I suspect it's a bit of a perfect storm here. Martin does have problems emotionally (most players would fight back rather than run away) and is probably not suited for the NFL (which is on Jeff Ireland) - though he could change - most players who have gone through this wind up not making it (who was the guy a few years back on the Dolphins (Saban era)? Demetrius something? Memory fails at my age). And, Incognito likely went too far with all this - as he has done quite often. It is too bad for him because people forget that he has been a relatively good citizen the past 3-4 years - after some really bad behavior early on.
Problem is Incognito is being potrayed as a villian off the field only because of his bad stuff ON the field. IMO those are two different things, I have played against really good friends in football and taken their ****ing heads off, once the game was over, they were my brothers and we went out and had a blast. Your on field persona and off field are two seperate people. This is a crazy time..
The latter, Miami's FO got the evidence and they requested the NFL perform an an offical investigation. It would make the Dolphins look callous to allow a player to continue to play while an investigation was going on to determine if improper conduct had occurred. Sort of like when a police officer injures or kills someone. They get suspended for the duration of the investigation.
again, you are leaving Jake Long making his own decision out of your equation. We could have offered him a billion dollar contract, but if he decided to sign with St Louis we had no control over that. We didnt 'let him go'. And if we did, please show me proof that we didnt offer a contract like St Louis. I can post quotes that Long chose St Louis and Miami couldnt have done anything to change it.
if philbin knew martin tried to commit suicide, and did nothing, considering philbins son died himself...such a lack of institutional control
From a lawyer up stand point, they can't cut him once the racial flag has been raised. I don't think bullying is actionable but racial discrimination/hostile environment sure is, as is retaliation for reporting same to an organization(even if there was no discrimination).
I suspect he might post here. There is a member that posted something that jibes with what the FH poster also said.
At a secret location, in a dark room, wearing a wig with his voice disguised....oh sorry i thought you asked HOW does Philbin talk to the media today.
Think it is 415pm today. Practice at 245pm. This is insane. Now( if Ross were to clean house who would want anything to do with the aftermath?
I don't think Ireland is a good GM (and this is the O-Line he built...they've been one of the worst in the NFL and now this happens), but wishing him AIDS is a little much. And what is Incognito's Dad doing wishing any harm to Ireland anyway? He signed him when not many others wanted him. Its almost fitting he chose FinHell over ThePhins. Though you do wonder if any of the allegations are true... then this team would really be a mess. Hope they win, winning will make everyone forget. Tough task though.
Well, I honestly think his dad just made things much worse with the suicide and drug allegations. I expect the NFL to take action soon, we might even have an LA Dodgers situation where the NFL seizes control of the Dolphins within the next week or two. The NFL won't stand for drug allegations and especially suicide allegations. So we might see NFL admins/personnel raiding Davie. I know we're not the only team in the league that has players that dope, but when people are getting called out and even Philbin is getting called out, Ross supposedly "knew" that Jonathan Martin was on suicide watch, that's troubling. The only thing we can do as fans is that the NFL does not take action against the team in terms of future draft picks..
We're getting way ahead of ourselves regarding a message board posting from somebody who might or might not be Incognito's father and might be full of complete nonsense. Even if what he said is true, why would the NFL take over the team? The Dodgers got taken over because their owner was in bankruptcy and his wife was trying to seize control of the team through their divorce proceedings. the Dolphins might be guilty of personnell mismanagement or poor leadership, but they haven't done anything which would cause or could cause the NFL to seize the team
The deadspin article is enough for me to know that is Incognito's dad, you can go blind and not try to connect the dots but it is legitimate: http://deadspin.com/is-richie-incog...source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow Even reporters like Jason La Canfora has blown the message board post story already, and won't shock me if it comes up on NFL Network soon.
Let's assume it's Incognito's dad, which I agree seems likely. That doesn't mean that what he wrote is true. He could be a complete nut for all we know. Now, I think it's clear at this point that Richie did "something" which rose to the level of requiring his suspension, but I take anything his father may or may not have written with a grain of salt.
If they didn't seize the Bucs, they aren't doing it to the Dolphins. But you can't blame Dolphins fans for these reactions...the team has caused this. When you put all this on top of the lack of playoffs since 2000 it just adds to it. This is still embarrassing, and this team better start winning. If they start losing again (especially with winless Tampa & the jeckyl & hyde SD, CAR, NYJ on deck) while in the midst of being the biggest joke in the league? I'm not sure how they'd get even 40,000 fans to show up at the stadium.
If the house is cleaned then there is no aftermath. And there are only 32 GM jobs, 32 HC jobs. You don't turn those down if offered. Otherwise, how did the Lions and Raiders keep hiring despite their constant turnover rates? There won't be an issue hiring new people.
The seize part is just speculation, I mean if more comes out of this the NFL is not going to let the Dolphins embarrass their product. They already have enough **** to deal with with the whole concussion/brain situation. I think Philbin and Ireland should have waited this out longer before suspending Ritchie, now we have two people that are ready to lawyer up against the team. I still believe our 2014 draft picks are on the line. The NFL hammered the Patriots hard with the cheating scandal, this situation is 100 times worse than the sport.
Jesus effing christ. Last year the NFL had a player kill himself in the parking lot of the practice facility. This year we had Aaron Hernandez, being busted for murder and gun running....but this stupid **** where we don't even have 10% of the story is bad enough for the league to take over the team?????!?!??!?!??!?!
Oh hell no. Racist remarks? Nope. ****ting in his mouth? Not really a big deal. Killing family members? Too far. You aren't Louis C.K., man, this is your teammate.
If our offensive anchor and team captain Jake Long would have been here this might of been more of a manageable situation. Here's looking at you Ireland you jackass.
If true, throw the book at him. However, I still want to know if these were things that lead to him leaving the team OR if these happened in the past day or two.
If those texts are accurate, then Incognito deserves his suspension and will probably receive a league mandated suspension as well. Also, how dumb are you to text that stuff when you know it can be saved and used against you later? I don't know what exactly the problem was between these two, but the stuff supposedly in those message is crossing a line. When you invovle somebody's family, then that's it.
