I think Cincy and Indy will ultimately be the two best AFC teams this year down the stretch. If Dalton just manages to play solid football, the roster around him is so damn talented that they're very hard to beat.
The Jets beat the Patriots and pretty sure we're last in the division because of our two division losses. I say be afraid, not because we're going to lose, that's a given, but because our actual good players still have 9 meaningless games to go and might get injured. Like Gibson.
It's going to be a horror show on Thursday night. The only Dolphins chance is that maybe the Bengals are so tired from such a big dominating win on a short week. It could also be seen as a trap game for them. Why bother laughing at them anyway. The Jets, Dolphins and Bills once again look like fodder for the Patriots. Maybe the sun is setting on New England's dominance, but they're not going away this year and probably not next year.
My thoughts exactly. Theyre just now putting it all together it looks like. Or the Jets are that bad.
Exposed... they've been well coached and lucky to some extent... believing their own hype. We can't say too much after losing to the Bills, but we'll play the Bengals much better. Coyle knows that team better as a former member of their defensive staff and how to defend their offense. Losing Gibson sucks an entire bag of d***s, but we also beat the Bengals last season 17-13 with less weapons. Picking Dalton twice and getting 2 fumbles from them. Our running game is coming on stronger each week and we'll now be playing Matthews and Egnew more the rest of the season. If we control the turnovers thru all 4 qtrs, we should win this one as turnovers has been what has hurt us most in each loss.
The Bengals are now figuring out how to get all their offensive pieces involved after bringing in Bernard, Eifert, promoting Marvin Jones as a legit #2. It's been a process for Jay Gruden and lots of Bengals fans were frustrated with the balance up until a couple weeks ago. But man, that roster is loaded on both sides of the ball; it comes down to whether Dalton plays a smart, sound game. They have the Saints-like mismatch guys with Eifert, Gresham, and Gio, and then the elite perimeter WR, the banger RB, and this Marvin Jones guy who appears to be legit against what little attention defenses can give him. In the last 4 weeks they've beaten Green Bay, New England, and Detroit. That defense is legit, particularly the front 4, though I think they just lost Leon Hall at CB. Beating that talented roster on Thursday would be a nice accomplishment, and definitely not impossible given the green inconsistent QB they have going on the road on a short week. Gonna need quick-strike scores from that guy named Mike Wallace who we allegedly signed recently.
First log in in a while. My brother had cancer surgery last Monday and I had a closing for the sale of my business the night of your tremendous win. The Jets got destroyed by the Bengals. It was embarrassing. I didn't even watch the 2nd half. Congrats on your win. I didn't get to see it because I was spending my last day at work, after 25 years. From what I've read, your defense was key. Cincy abused the Jets defense. No excuses. The Jets got whooped.
Best to your brother, I have a very good friend fighting brain cancer right now. Prayers for your bro!
