But would you really want to be known as the guy who whined his way out the NFL?

    He hasn't whined yet.

The guy noticed he had a problem and is working to fix it. I think he is more courageous than most people in the NFL. Especially the ones who believe he should suck it up.

Well i thought he should confront the bully/bullies but i guess in America thats not the way anymore, now we go to Psychologist and get prescribed medicine for "mental conditions" etc etc. I could care less either way as i said earlier, i dont think the guy is a good player anyways and we had some of the best protection we seen all year last night. My worry is 'which has now happened' that the NFL is going to jump in and fine/suspend players. NFLPA lawyers are now going to investigate and this could mean fines for possible suspension for multiple players. How is Martin going to deny it now after making a scene. I could care less about Martin but what about the rest of my team.

Incognito being investigated should surprise no one. With that said, if Martin and Incognito are texting all buddy-buddy and Martin defends him then there's nothing they can do.

And there are a lot of embarrassingly ignorant people in this thread when it comes to mental illness.

Many on this forum, the knee jerk reactionary types, were calling Egnew a bust all through his rookie season. Saying he would be/should be cut already, etc etc. Some of us said, we just needed to be patient with him, and give him time to develop. Heck, some people here were criticizing his blocking even after he showed all through the preseason he is becoming a very good blocker.

Neck injuries may not be obvious like a serious knee injury would be. Same as when Jake tore his triceps a few years ago, it wasn't something that was apparent the instant it happened. Are you insinuating Incognito wasn't actually injured?

Well there really needs to be a separation between "bullying" and "mental illness" as it pertains to this issue.

If you're going to state that Martin probably has some mental issues that don't allow him to handle the stress of the NFL or to process personal interactions with others that may be confusing like "ribbing" between people then I'm on the same page. The guys does need help clearly.

On the other side, If you're going to take the angle that this situation is all about a normal functioning adult being "bullied" into mental collapse by a locker room full of insensitive meanies like some here have and many in the media have forwarded then that that's where I go back to this issue being completely absurd.

The kid has obviously taking a lot of crap, and the last prank was one too many, so he went home. The operative word here is "kid." I wish him the best as he grows up, applies himself, gets better at his craft, and realizes his talent. If.

I think its odd that no one has reported about why the NFLPA has started an investigation. Did someone from the team call them in? Did the NFL call them in? Did they just take it upon themselves to look into this?

I ask because depending on which happened it points to a different severity of the issue for each. Either way, this has gotten so much press, I doubt Incognito makes it out of there without a punishment regardless of him being guilty or not.

He's a league bad boy and the NFL needs to publicly look like they are against "bullying".

The thing that makes this so sketchy to me is that no one involved is on record calling this bullying...it just somewhere along the way got called bullying.

My point is that if Egnew was close to the point of tapping out then that could indicate a systemic issue within the locker room. Details are scarce on the Martin situation but people have been assuming it's an isolated issue.

Looking smarter everyday not drafting an OL early in the draft. /sarcasm

I like Jordan, but its looking more and more likely that Ireland's Wannstedtian approach to the draft(upgrading a team's strength rather than addressing a crucial need) was a boneheaded move. Obviously he couldn't forsee Martin walking out on the team, but with Jake Long being broken down from his earlier days and eventually signing with St. Louis, J. Martin looking like a spring chicken and getting manhandled by Oliver Vernon in camp, and RG/RT looking like critical holes, we chose instead to take a pass rushing DE who 1. Isn't healthy and can't go through full training camp, thus delaying his development and 2. Isn't getting nearly enough snaps to further hinder him and even when it's clear he makes some sort of positive impact in games. With CB Jamar Taylor(2nd round), another injured rookie, gets little playing time but is getting toasted when he does(in their defense), and CB Will Davis(3rd round - who I liked early on but is also banged up) also not getting playing time, the early returns are indicating we wasted at least our mid-round picks on an injured CB and one that can't get playing time for whatever reason. And most telling of all, is OT/OG Dallas Thomas(3rd round) can't seem to get any playing time either on this atrocious line which has now had three, and gonna make it four different starting lineups if Incognito can't go AND still isn't getting any serious consideration. So there's so far four missed opportunities to shore up our OL. Not to mention FA, the fact we could've had McKinnie without trading draft picks. If all we ever get with Ireland is singles(Pouncey, Odrick, Reshad Jones, Lamar Miller) but no HRs, we're gonna be mired in mediocrity hell forever with Ireland constantly starting over every draft trying to fix his earlier draft mistakes, putting the development of the team as a whole behind the curve.

The statement that the NFLPA is not investigating Miami's players is inaccurate. They damn well investigated. The Dolphins are playing around with their word choice. Which comes off looking disingenuous.
