I’m not sure if this has been posted or discussed yet either this week or in previous weeks, but has anyone notice how Ryan Tannehill is tipping plays off under center. This only happens when he is under center and not in the shotgun. On every run play right before the ball is snapped Tannehill will say “go go” but before every passing play Tannehill says “go”. I noticed even on a playaction he said 1 go. Every play that I can remember during the game where he was under center this happened. I also don’t remember any time this was mixed up. Whether this has or hasn’t been discussed don’t you think it makes the offense a little bit predictable? If I picked up on this I’m sure Bill Belichick did. Even if it is just a seconds notice this still makes a big difference.

It's been discussed, but the point remains. It's a huge tell.

Joe Philbin has said he's not concerned about it, but I'm not sure why. If I'm a front seven player, that's an advantage. Similar to an offensive lineman's stance being a run/pass tell.

The play action part is just silly. Blows my mind.

I don't get it. There's people on here also trying to say it's not a big deal? What? How in the world is that not a big deal?!?

I played front 7. Almost every position along the front 7. If you told me at snap what the play was It would of been a huge advantage.

I would think it'd be especially helpful on play action.

Joe Philbin is pretty stubborn and we've seen how long it takes them to adjust to things. It's been two years of this with no change in sight.

To be fair, there's not a lot that Philbin seems concerned about, at least in public.

I think he's genuinely unconcerned, as they've done nothing to change it.

The Dolphins do it this way for a reason. So if it's important to them, it stands to reason it'd be helpful to the defense.

Nice to know some people have sense enough to know that snap count is an issue and a hue advantage to the opposing front seven. I've argued this point until my fingers bled on several other sites. This is undoubtedly an issue that needs to be resolved.

would need some thorough research to be concerned. for instance, has tanny ever said "go" on a run play? has he ever said "go go," on a pass? because if he has, then the defense can get ****ed with pretty easily. we also do silent snap counts pretty rrgulsrly I believe

I think it is a possibility that he is calling the play on the line and Philbin doesn't want to tip it off.

Tanny almost never lines up under center and even attempt plays action passes. Sherman stupidly line him up the shotgun and then he hands off.

To be fair I see this in the college game as well. It's as if QB's as a whole cannot process the entire field vertically and horizontally.

A quick note about Go-Go. Tom Brady yells Hut-Hut for runs and goes silent snap for shotgun passes. Somehow Hut-hut works for him.

Go = Pass no matter what
    Go, Go = Run

A lot of teams do this, there is some benefit, mainly making the snap count unpredictable. I'm not sure if overall the good outweighs the bad, but there is definitely a school of thought to it.
