Philbin calls plays too vs bengals?

    On the offense and Mike Sherman's play calling, Andrew Abramson has been told players want Coach Joe Philbin to intervene

    lol I don't think he called plays in GB even when he was OC...

    True, I think he came up with the game plan and McCarthy called the plays.

    He could intervene by influencing the play calls rather than taking over completely.

    Philbin hasn't called plays at the pro level. Now's not the time to start.

    I don't know if intervening necessarily means calling plays. They could just be asking Philbin to help keep Sherman from wandering off the game plan.

    I'm a little stunned to learn that an NFL OC did not call plays. Guess it depends on who the HC is.

    He wasn't the only one. Now, Tom Clements is the OC in Green Bay and McCarthy still calls plays. Pete Carmichael is OC in Nawlins but Payton calls plays.

    The plays I'm concerned about about are the black and white striped play callers throwing little yellow flags, may they please just call them correct for a whole game for both teams involved.
