now not all of them names are superstars, some are bust, cut, out of the league.. But the Seattle Seahawks have built their top defense through the draft, we go back to 2010 and they selected both earl Thomas and kam chancellor who are starting and Thomas is a probably one of the best safety's in the league..
miami selected pouncey in 2011 and since then have not found one pro bowler in the draft..every starting linebacker on the Seahawks came from the last 3 draft, and one side of their lock down secondary... I repeat lock down... Then they go out and get a guy like tony McDaniel who is playing very well for them, and btw we passed up golden Tate for koa misi and took Clyde gates over Richard Sherman...

im upset... Rambling a bit.. Jes comparing notes...

Golden Tate isn't that good. He's a second or third receiver really.

I disagree, I think with a better qb he could be special, I believe tann is a better qb in the long run than Russell Wilson..

Tannehill has shown nothing to prove he can be a better QB then Wilson.

Noticed I said in the long run.. Russell Wilson is a great game manager but he's not gonna win games with his arm alone.. He needs a great defense to keep it a low scoring affair, he needs a running game to help, he makes plays out of the pocket and runs for first downs.. The Seahawks aren't gonna avg 30 points a game and Russell isn't gonna put up crazy numbers.. He is a game manager who can make plays out of the pocket...

The Seahawks may be one of the best examples of recent draft success, but they're not an example of what you should expect, they're more of a best case scenario. For all that success as well, you've also got to realize that they're a team whom also has holes, and in practice have an offensive line situation right now worse than the Dolphins.

The Dolphins have done pretty good at the draft. Pretty much every year they've got multiple emerging players whom have performed well. Last year was Brian Hartline, Mike Pouncey, and Reshad Jones. This year it's Charles Clay and Jared Odrick. You don't have a tremendous amount of flat busts, either.

Game manager? Russell had 30 total TDs last year. Wouldn't consider that a game manager. Tannehill might have 35 total in his first 2 years.

One big difference I notice between Tannehill and Wilson and even Luck, is that both of them are more fluid and relaxed than Ryan. ProFootballWeekly's draft report mentions that he is "wound too tightly" and it shows. I imagine the same could be said about Peyton Manning early in his career -- he seems a little high strung. I think people like that really benefit from repetition and familiarity. I could see Tannehill being the slow and steady improver type. The game of NFL football, with it's 16 games, once per week, just doesn't allow for players to mature very rapidly, IMO. It's not like the NBA, where you're out there every other night.

    lol.

Wilson looked awfully average last night with an o-line full of 2nd stringers. It looked really familiar, like I've seen it somewhere before........

Here's one more quote from that ProFootballWeekly draft preview of Tannehill: "Struggled to find rhythm in a timing passing game and could be best suited for a vertical attack. Would be best entering a situation where he could be patiently groomed, yet based on the need for quarterbacks, is a strong candidate to be overdrafted and forced into action earlier than he should be."

    Pretty solid analysis...
