Honestly, lets make noise. Anyone want to send cinder blocks to goodell's office? How about rotten fish? Something to call attention to the amount of blown calls influencing games. That was a HORRENDOUS call in a vacuum, and illegal at its worst. I've never seen a game taken away like that. Absolutely never.

I will have nothing to do with the NBA this season. I'm losing faith in all professional sports. There are hidden agendas everywhere, and most of it leads back to money. Money corrupts everything.

I know I'm jumping into this conversation late but Jesus, God, Mary and Joseph...just how much does an NFL officiating crew cost? The holding call on Patterson? Ok, maybe...MAYBE, but the PI and the batting of the ball? FOR REAL???

The mindset of the NFL anymore is nothing but offense...offense, offense, offense and the defense is supposed to be nothing more than 11 guys standing on the field being nothing more than human tackling dummies for offensive players to work around.

Newsflash for the NFL officials... DEFENSIVE PLAYERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO GO FOR THE BALL TOO!!!!

    The pass interference call? BS!
    The batting ball call? BS!

Here's what I think it truly is...

The NFL has had such a MAN CRUSH on Tom Brady for so may years that now when HE can't win games anymore, the refs are helping him out with bogus calls...the "allure" that is Tom Brady just HAS to be kept alive.

It just pisses me off! Brady is DONE! He and the Patriots' reign as the dominate team in the NFL are over but some just can't get past that.

After years of blatant refereeing bias (of the most corrupt kind) watching bigger 'ahem richer' soccer teams i am done with the emotional investment thing. I still support the various teams that i always have but now it's for entertainment purposes only. I am becoming more cynical as i age.

Some of the worst calls I have ever seen by NFL referees in that second half. There was a blatant missed face mask. There was a blatant missed roughing the passer on NE. The batted ball... The PI that "occurred" when brady mistakenly threw into triple coverage. Twice. Can't put the blame on the officials, because the team needs to overcome that, but come on. You cannot give the patriots those kind of momentum killing plays and expect any other outcome.

The PI and holding calls were inexcusable, absolutely atrocious calls.

The batted ball on the fumble was less a bad call then a terrible rule that needs to be looked at. After eharing Walt Anderson's explanation, I understood why the call was technically "correct", but it should be reviewable. There was no obvious intent on Vernon's part to kick the ball toward the opposite goal to keep it away from NE. He was trying to recover the ball and he inadvertantly tapped it. I think the call would've been overturned if it was replayable.

Oh God I have never sworn so much at a ****ing tv. I felt terrible as the kids could hear me downstairs, I was livid and amazed I didn't smash the TV. I turned it off and enjoyed the rest of my day. Canes # 7 and L'pool in top 3 of EPL. All is good in my world.

  10. I also recall seeing PI calls on critical conversion plays that should been called on the Pats but were somehow overlooked.

Charles Clay was contacted 15 to 20 yards downfield on a play that he needed a split second more to catch the ball at the end of the first half. Of course, I wouldn't have expected the refs to call that our way... the other three outlined previously though.

No worries Shed, I don't have the personal investment in either NBA or EPL like I do in the NFL, I enjoy watching for the sake of watching whereas with the Fins it is more of a part of my life. Season tickets, jerseys, being a sponsor on FinHeaven to keep it going back in the day and then one of the first here on Phins.com. I have spent a lot of time and effort on the Fins.

On the flip side, it is nice for once being the beneficiary of a couple calls going your way, however there weren't three of them in 'Pools win over WBA on the weekend like there were this week. There are more blatantly bad calls in the NFL each week than in the EPL.

doesn't it strike you as odd that these rare rules seem to come out when the league wonder-boys need help the most? I mean come on, really? dog pile on the strip sack and give the ball back and not only that, but progress the ball another 10 yards as well? I'm no conspiracy theorist but this just seems a bit odd that the first half we really made them look done and the second half they were suddenly SOOO sooo much better...

Holding call on Patterson made me lose it, the dude slips, falls, Patterson barely touches him before he starts to backpedal. Horse**** is what its called, that was a 3rd down play.

I am coming from the opposite side of the field. As a kid in the UK i have spent thousands of £'s of money that i didnt really have and certainly couldnt justify spending following my soccer team, buying jerseys etc. Like i said i have cut the emotion out as best i can (you can never be 100% detached unfortunately) and just try to be entertained whilst hoping the scores go for my team and against our rivals in their games. Having seen disgusting favouritism to the richer clubs it has ripped the soul out of the game for me. The NFL is so entertaining a game when stripping the corruption aside that i absolutely love watching any game. My danger is im starting to become emotionally attached to my team in the way i was with my soccer clubs, i'm not sure i can take the kicks in the b0llocks again so im going to have to reign it in.

Ps this time im trying to be a douche................ i hope Liverpool FC a painful slow death :tongue2:

Imagine if this call happened at Sun Life with all twenty thousand fans reacting in unison?

Side note, I can't wait for Brady's career to be over so Goodell no longer has an excuse to support Screw England as the NFL's little darling.

What about just last week when they got called on a never before called penalty last week against the Jets in OT, potentially causing them to lose the game? Bad calls happen. Badly called games happen. Fact of the matter: We went into half time with the lead. We abandoned the run, instead of shortening the game we give Mr. Brady too many chances to beat us.

Were the calls bad yes. But the calls upstairs were worse. You go into the half up 14, off the back of your two running backs and you take them out of the game essentially. Forget the officials. What's up with our team? The bad officiating will go away. I think over the span of a season or multiple seasons the calls for and against even out. But the playcalling upstairs. Well that's been consistently sh***y this year.

I think the calls were generally bad, but I don't buy any type of conspiracy theories. The NFL had a lot more vested interest in Miami winning yesterday than NE. NFLN would have gotten better ratings this Thursday.

Exactly. Were they bad in totality? Sure. Conspiracy? Yeah, don't think so. NFL has a vested interest to have parity. Not one or two teams win every year.

Thing is, if you look at the pregame threads, most fans knew we were not going to get any benefit of the doubt from the ref's in foxboro, and lo and behold, that is exactly what happened

What if the parity that the NFL is KNOWN for is just a scam, or marketing tactic to keep fans strung along.

What if the "parity" is just used so fans will always think that their "team" always has a chance and if they have a bad year then its OK because they are only a year way.

What if the annual turnover of multiple playoff teams is just a way to push the "parity" agenda?

If fans REALLY thought there team was useless then they would just give up, they would stop spending money, lose support, and just throw in the towel.
BUT, the NFL markets themselves as a league of parity, where EVERY team has a chance to make it. So fans buy that up, thinking that their team is just a few players away from winning the super bowl.
so they still buy merchandise, they still go to games, and more importantly then anything else(yes even mroe important than going to games) is just so they tune in on tv and boost those ratings.

At the end of the day NFL owners of EVERY team are making money, regardless of how many seats are filled on sunday. The revenue sharing in the NFL is like none other.

Forgive me for putting words in your mouth Mr Paul but allow me to reply from a kindred souls point of view.

The short answer. Love once given can not be taken back. It can be squandered abused rejected disrespected and disregarded. Denied missapplied tried and compromised. Forgotten downtrodden misbegotten and woebegone. Unplanned unwanted unaware and misunderstood. It can be all these things and more...but you can't. Ever. Take it back.:)

You are breaking my heart with your "no contact" rules. Why wont you hit me any more Roger?
Just because Bill won't let you be Tom's center so you can snap his balls is no reason to treat me this way. I hate you.
I gave you the best yrs of my life and you repay me by taking away kickoff returns. Special teams is one third of the game you selfish bastard!
Well...I just hope Billy balls will be ok when he finds out. Much like I did. How quickly you forget the good times. I'm sure Mr Kraft will be able to buy a new whore when you run off to Denver to join the mile high club with that ***** Peyton.

Has there been any word of discipline on the refs for making bad calls during this game? Even the NFL saying it was wrong would be something.

It really is getting ridiculous. Last night again the Dolphins got hosed. The offensive PI on Hartline followed by the no PI call on Jones were both blatantly bad. At what point does it even out?

What needs to happen is some of them Carol City boys need to remind these refs that Miami is not to be messed with, same with all these dam fans from other teams. Our stadium is stacked with opposing team fans far too dam often. I lived in Pittsburgh for a few years and i'll tell you if you are a fan of another team you better tread lightly because it gets hostile over there. I attended Steelers v Ravens, the last time the steelers went to the SB and there was some serious hostility at the bars with ravens fans after the game even though the steelers won the game.

We both had bad calls, Samu did get laid helmet to helmet no call at the end zone, and that holding penalty that erased a touchdown for them was also a bad call.

As for our end, the offensive PI on Hartline was bull****. And there was definitely a block in the back on that Giovani Bernard's run.

    It all evened out.

They shouldn't complain, offensively they had their way with our defense, especially on third down... Andy Dalton made two very poor throws that cost them the game.
