Curious to see if what we have seen in the first 6 games has changed anyones expectations.

To be honest, I cannot remember what I expected. I think I said it could be anywhere from 7-9 if things went badly, to as high as 10-6. I hoped for 9-7.

Now, I am thinking more like 8-8. Maybe even 7-9, despite Tannehill's progress as a QB.

I think 7-9, we just seem to be regressing. Who knows this is the NFL, plenty of teams have losing streaks and turn things around with a hot streak and really no one remembers how you played in October if you are hot in the playoffs. We just seem to be missing something and if we turn the ball over like we did last week it could be even worse than 7-9. Honestly 9-7 would be a pretty successful season with the talent that we have unfortunately.

I predicted better initially (9-7 and missing the playoffs iirc), but the last 3 games (well really just the last two) have shaken my confidence. :(

I think it really depends on if we can rebound. Right now we look like a worse team than we did last season. I still think we can pull out nine wins but what good is that if we don't make the playoffs? I'd rather suck and get a better draft pick but even then....We took Jordan #3 overall and he hasn't exactly made a huge splash just yet. Still waiting for Dion Jordan to officially arrive.

I think we'll go 9-7. I originally thought coming out of the BYE week if we were 2-3, things would be OK. I think our remaining losses will come from New England (twice), San Diego, and New York.

Honestly cannot say, we beat Indy at home, lost to the Bills at home two things I did not think would happen.

I be bullish and say 10-6, I think they get the OL sorted out and the defense tightened up

I can see us winning 3 of the next 4, Cinci, Bucs, and SD

Preseason I thought 8-8/9-7 and 11-5 if we got some bounces and the O-line held up.

Well, the O-line is clearly going to sink us.

    7-9.

The question is: How long can Tannehill continue to get pressured without really losing composure and giving up even more turnovers?

How much more of a beating can he take and still remain healthy?

Matt Moore without a running game doesn't have a winning ring to it.

It likely the Dolphins lose the next two games and the Bucs defense matches up strong against our offense. If the Dolphins lose to a weak Bucs team starting a rookie QB who wasn't even a high draft pick, then it could be curtains.

My thoughts haven't really changed much from the off-season. Around .500. A game over or a game under. That's about where we are I think.

That said, I could more easily see 6-10 than 10-6. Just hoping Ross finally wakes up and smells the coffee re; Ireland if another losing season is indeed the outcome. Sick tired of losing. Oh, how the glory days seem to be so long ago. Another lifetime really.

I think they will go 1-4 in the games they have left against their AFC East division rivals. They should beat Tampa Bay and go 2-2 against their remaining opponents. So based on the fact that they are 3-3 right now and what my expectations are for the next ten games, 7-9 is where I see this team finishing the season.

I just want to see how Ross explains keeping Ireland after this team once again finishes the season below 500. I guess once again all the blame will be put on the head coach so Ross can again justify keeping Ireland as the teams GM.

We should ask after every game and after we have played all 16 games and ask people to predict our record, see how many guess
within one win of accuracy, just to see how aware the fanbase is of reality.

I'm still going with 9-7, which is where I was after the team started out 3-0. But there's a strong chance I'm just being stubborn here.

Even so, there are significant caches of potential that could be unlocked as the season unfolds.

One of them is Dion Jordan. When the coaching staff figures out that the benefits of getting him on the field 50 times a game far outweigh the risk, you're going to get more game-changing plays.

Another could involve Michael Egnew, believe it or not. He's a significant threat in the seam, and when the coaches finally figure it out he could make a few big plays that make a difference.

A third would be at tailback when the coaches get their heads out of their asses about Lamar Miller. They had their heads up their own asses on Reggie Bush all last year as well, so maybe this never happens. But if they do figure it out long enough to feature him, they could see him taking over an entire game or two like Reggie did.

There's POTENTIAL upside if Bryant McKinnie is able to pass protect well and Jonathan Martin makes a smooth transition back to the right side.

There is upside as Dimitri Patterson slowly phases Jimmy Wilson out of the nickel corner rotation.

There is a pretty massive potential for upside as Cameron Wake slowly regains his health.

All of these hidden pockets of upside will have to fight against the natural attrition that happens during the season as older players get tired, more players get injured, etc.

All in all I think it comes out to a 9-7 record. But I could be wrong.

Im still holding to 10-6 and the playoffs. We played the toughest stretch of our schedule..3-3...with historically bad OL play. We have injured players getting healthy...and I have to believe the tongue lashing Ross delivered is going to create some sense of urgency to right this ship and quick.

Oof, if we gave out close to a quarter billion dollars in contracts just to go 7-9 again? Ross won't be too pleased.

I think this might finally be the offseason we see those beautiful, long-awaited words flash across the TV screen:

"BREAKING: Miami Dolphins relieve general manager Jeff Ireland of his duties"

I thought 9-7 maybe 8-8 at the beginning of the yr. That was thinking we were 1-4 after the first five.

Now...10-6 is doable. Just have to go 4-2 in division and beat either Cincinnati or San Diego. Losing the next two may send me off the edge. Beating NE really matters this Sunday. Cincinnati may be the best team we see this yr

I have longed for that day for at least 3 years now.

I thought they might make the playoffs if they could go 10-6, but reality is what it is, and I think the more realistic record will be 5-11 with victories over Tampa and the Jets here in Miami remaining.

After gearing up with draft picks and extra $ spent in free agency and it produces 2 less wins, maybe it will finally dawn on Ross that Ireland is the problem and not just the coaches. But in this scenario its doubtful Philbin survives either.

I didn't pick a record before the season because of so many new parts, a lot with injury concerns coming in. I think it depends on who becomes healthy and who fixes their game. If Wake, Patterson, and Ellerbe get fully healthy that's great. Any other combination of players healing up, to me, won't make a big enough difference.
