3 TOs by Tannehill were the difference in this game. All of them were his fault.

I'm a huge Tannehill supporter and still am, but that game was 100% on him. It happens. Every QB has lost games, even the great ones.

yes, in that specific situation it would be predictable, but so what? Trying to be "unpredictable" during a late 4th quarter lead isn't the point. The point should've been to milk the clock and force a rookie QB to drive the field to beat us with the win probability already in our favor. The time he should've been unpredictable was the first pass play of the game where a rookie corner was aware of Sherman's tendencies and prepared for jumping the route.

    All good points.

I don't have a problem w either approach TBH, it's the execution that fell short IMO, not the decision.

They're all the biggest reason, because if you change any one of them, the game probably goes another way.

    • If Clabo blocks Williams around Tannehill or stonewalls him, Tannehill may have time to make a pass or may get sacked by the other end, but it not end up in a fumble. If that happens or we throw incomplete, we run on third down or throw an incomplete pass and the Bills have to drive the field. we likely win. If we complete the pass, we likely win the game.
    • If Sherman just calls a run and tells Tannehill in his helmet, "No audibling, just run the play", and we run it on the fumble play, we probably punt, and still win the game.
    • If we don't have the first or last turnover, we likely win the game.
    • If Sturgis makes the kick, we probably do run in the end already holding the four point lead. Even if we don't and they have to score a TD, we still could have won the game.
    • If we stop the Bills after the fumble on their first 3rd down, we either still have much extra time or a time out left and probably both before our final drive, for which all we need is a FG. With two minutes and a time out, there's a good chance we march back and kick a game-winner.

Pinned down, as King Motion has said, the last fumble (and whoever can be blamed for it - probably more than one, and probably more than two culprits) cost us because at that point, when everything else had happened, we had a 21-20 lead and the ball. A 72% win chance. And still a chance to pick up the first, and we either burn their time outs or burn time. While Lewis had been a little effective with play-action early in the game, in obvious passing downs, unless he was throwing a screen or swing out, he was inaccurate, bothered by our rush, and generally ineffective. I like our chances if we punt. I understand going for the kill or at least trying to get into field goal range because anything can happen with just a one point lead. A four+ point lead feels much safer. But with our team's penchant to give up sacks and Tannehill's lack of ball security so far this year, really discretion is the better part of valor at that point in the game.

Ridiculous poll because Tannehill's name isn't added as an option

Tannehill is the sole reason we lost that game. That idiot threw the pick 6 to start it off. That idiot fumbled late in the game when we were in position to put it away. That idiot leads the team and the league in fumbles. Granted, O line needs to protect Tannehill, but for the LOVE OF GOD....HOLD ON TO THE BALL....ESPECIALLY LATE IN THE GAME AND KNOWING THAT RUSHERS ARE COMING AT HIM!! Does he not see the pocket collapsing around him??? His inability to hold onto the ball is what cost us, period. And when he had a chance to redeem himself by hitting a wide open Hartline that would have resulted in a touchdown, he overthrew him....by a mile!!! Tannehill is a bad quarterback. Period. I don't know what it is that has so many Dolphins fans in love with this guy. He is not a good QB, period. He can't MAKE a play. I have been a dedicated fan for 39 years and I have earned the right to say, "Tannehill SUCKS"! Get rid of that loser and put in Moore, Devlin, anybody.....because Tannehill will lose more games for us than he will win for us. His play on the field speaks for itself.

Interesting thing about this thread. Last year when Tannehill threw a disastrous pick 6 vs. the Jets, nobody assigned him too much blame and most everyone blamed Carpenter.

This year most blame the turnovers. Not one person picked the missed field goal which happened mid game. The last turnover (the fumbleJ) is what effectively lost the game. But the second place choice was the offensive line, which only really faltered in the fourth quarter. Further proof that as fans we tend to place emphasis on the mistakes that happen last.

The fumble sealed it, but the pick 6 is what allowed the Bills to even have a chance in a game they never should have won (IMHO).

I didn't blame the kicker for the loss by missing a single 51 yarder by 4" with a cross wind. Last season, in the first stej game, Carpenter missed 2 FGs. One from the 47 and the other from the 48. Both missed wide left. That's practically identical kicks from the same distance. No way both should have been missed from within the 50.

As for blame, The defense should have dominated this team. Allowing a team as bad offensively as the Bills to convert almost 50% of 3rd downs (9 of 19) was as big a factor as the pick 6, which Tannehill over came with the 3 TDs. Also with the the Special Teams gaffs, I'd say this was total team failure. That's on Philbin.

Ball SECURITY is the #1 priority. In that situation, as a professional QB, he should be able sense the pocket collapsoing and just hold on to the ball.

Now why would you say that? Because I acknowledge the truth and am not blind? I realizr that Tannehill is a poor QB and simply state that as fact. Tannehill has lost more gasmes for us than he has won for us. That cannot be disputed. Now, I hope that I am wrong. I really reaLLY DO. I hope Tannehill plays lights out and has me saying, "I was wrong". I love my Dolphins and am very passionate. Tannehill turns the ball over too much, period. And that is costing us games.

Hey, Clown. And what's funny is that I noticed your avatar after I referred to you as a clown. How fitting. If saying that Tannehill sucks gets me banned then so be it. Don't think it would bother me as much as would you. I am starting to realize that the Dolphins have about the most stupid fan base in the NFL. If most of the fans think that Tannehill is our answer, then it is confirmed that most posters on this board, which is indicative of our fan base, period, are morons and know nothing. Have a good day, clown boy. Now run along and go do some research to see whick board I have been banned from ....multiple times.....for calling fans idiotic. Go...go, run along...... bonus points for my name will be given.
