I generally try not to post after a game. Win or Lose the highs and lows just don't make you think strait. For some reason today this game really has gotten to me more than most. I'm really just sitting here questioning why I love this team. I'm only 29 so its not for the legacy of the team, Shula's greatness, the perfect season, back to back superbowl wins. Truthfully what we got today is really the only Dolphins I know.

Why does this team just always find a way to lose? As far back as I can remember watching Monday Night Football and the Jets come back on us down 21 points in the 4th quarter, all the way to today. Every year in between. Its like this team is cursed or something. All the free agents, coach's, draft picks that were supposed to come in here and be the difference. Take us back to the promise land. The emotional rollercoaster that is the Miami Dolphins is freaking miserable. I've never questioned my fandom until today and I look at my kid and don't want him to be a Dolphins fan when he gets older. I don't want him to have to feel the pain of being a fan of this god forsaken team.

    Anybody else feel this way?

    Ok....let the sarcastic comments begin.

We've had owners that have failed at hiring GM's and coaching staffs. It starts at the top and then wonder why fans don't go to the games.

I feel your pain man, I'm 26 and this loss today punched me in the gut, I honestly think its because for the first time in a long time I felt like we were past losing games like this. I dont mind losing a tough fought game, and I honestly dont think we're a great team yet. But THIS? Losing like this, felt like a loss in the 07 season, so ugly and embarrassing I just dont know anymore It feels like a broken record, and seeing the stadium so empty still is depressing and will just get worse. W.e Basketball season needs to start ASAP.

Should be called "21st Century Legacy of Losing". At least they could make the playoffs and beat good teams (more than once a year) in the 90s.

I don't think there will be too many sarcastic comments. All those additional season tickets they sold this offseason are going down the drain when they hit 2012 levels again next season. Unless this game magically wakes the team up...doubtful considering out horrid recent history.

Yep I feel exactly the same way. I really only loved this team when we had Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor two premier players in the NFL that made a difference. Since they left and Marino of course we have had total mediocrity. I don't love anyone on this team and I feel they could give a damn if they win or lose as there getting payed. It's a JOB to them. I seem to get more upset than anyone on the team or the owner does for some stupid reason. I feel more invested in this team with daily reading about them and watching next weeks match up games over the week etc..

I would really like to cut ties with the joke of a franchise and I have been a fan from about 1982 onward. I never feel were going to be in control of a game, we never impose our will. Our defense which is always decent always gives up the big play, and were always looking for a running back and Oline. Oh and our 10th Air apparent QB I have a feeling isnt going to be the MAN we all wanted him to be..

I feel our coaches are inept. Sherman left the NFL for a reason the game passed him by, and now hes an offensive coordinator with the worst timing I have seen since Cam Cameron.. The wheels on this bus have officially fallen off. Were now 3-3 going to 3-4 next weekend. This team isnt making the playoffs guys not the way this team is constructed this year.

What makes me more sad is that it seems year after year we see teams that SUCKED (JETS) bounce back with a rookie QB or new players / coach (andy reid 6-0) and we mutter through another 8-8 season and look for more answers.. How can this owenr not see what the fans see and how can he not address the issues? They are plan as hell.

Ireland has to go, Philbin needs a talking to and the Offense needs adjusted (new OC IMHO) the defense isnt scaring anyone, and our Oline coach should be fired. I was listening to the radio feed today mowing my lawn because I had seen enough ans was getting mad when I heard them say everyone expected them to make big changes coming off the by and that Philbin said no were sticking with our guys. Well Philin your guys suck and no amount of attention to detail about their socks or uniforms is going to make the play the game better. I dont like passive coaches at all I dont think they get respect from these players. Philbin might be a good coach but he has to start holding other accountable for thier positions and I would bench Tannehill for a week to start sending that message.

I started drawing parallels: Receiver with huge contract, two just above average free agent linebackers, right tackle who should be taken out to the barn and shot, two non-feature backs, defensive backs who live to give up the big play...

Then I realized that there's a common denominator.

It's what you do. You support them when it's bad because it makes the good even sweeter. I grew up supporting a soccer team called Dundee United. My team have literally zero chance of winning the league because of the finances involved. Its still my team. Every season without winning just brings the winning season closer. I've often thought how dull it would get if the expectation was just win every season. Victories taste better when contrasted with some sourness. As John Cleese said “It's not the despair. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand"

Yeah I'm pretty fed up as well. I'm just tired. Very depressing. How in the hell do you lose this game like that? With some guy at quarterback that I've barely heard of. Will Jeff Ireland now press the panic button? Please be respectful of everyone's opinion during this most trying of times. I'm not looking forward to moderating here. How Ryan Tannehill is still standing after this game is quite a freak of nature really. To top it off, our OC calls a quarterback draw at the goal line and almost gets him bent in half. So, he's not been getting hit enough that you have to expose him to another hit on purpose? And how many carries did Thomas get in the second half after looking halfway decent in the first? Pretty sure I could count on one hand.

Now we have no chance against the Pats next week right? But just imagine if we were to somehow pull that off. Riiiiiiight

Stephen Ross has to hire someone to run his football team for him because he doesn't know how to do it himself and Jeff Ireland has proven to be a poor general manager. Ross must hire Bill Polian or someone like him to run this team.

Ok so the last 10 years or so what Sweetness have I gotten out of being a fan of this team? The only thing I have been super excited for in the last few years was us getting the #1 Draft pick to take Luck, but we managed to screw that up even... This team needs a totally new identity.

3 chances to put the game away/win the game late with drives. Thiggy gave them a chance to win, and could not make 1 pass.

Ok I am going to be honest here and I for one thought this club went down hill after Dave Wannstedt and know 99.5 percent will disagree but Wanny's problem
was he was too loyal to Feidler his teams were honestly well prepared and we kept on using Feidler when everyone knew he wasn't the answer.

we had Ricky , chris , Rob Konrad , Donald Lee and R.MAC and Welker . on defense we had Twinkle toes Taylor and Zach . in the secondary we had our best secondary since the Jake Scott days. these guys were devoted and worked well together .

then comes Jim Bates he had one thing that philbin and company will never have and that is fire. then comes Saban and he never wanted to be here.

Cam Cameron is a good dude and a good offensive coordinator but lousy head coach then comes our real problems.

THE big Tuna who's ways were outdated back then. Sparano who had a good offensive line but he dismantled t and ta da here we are with the worst oline ever .

our oline made the 2003 oline look like the 72 team.

we misuse Ronnie Brown and Ricky then we bring in Reggie and we almost had a good team but no we had to let Bush Walk and we traded for Marshall who is gone now two. bottom line we cant keep getting rid of our better players .

I think our problems is 5 of our last coaches just couldn't get it done and Ireland simply doesn't know talent and now we have chemistry issues and a talent gap .

I think Ross was a idiot for extending Ireland and the home games are likely to show it this year too.

answer get the bums of a olinemen out of here and replace Ireland and then get rid of the looser Sherman and you guys will see improvement and that is what I think needs to happen.

hang in there guys we simply don't have the right guys in place even though it shouldn't take this long to rebuild.

And honestly the wins don't feel even half as good as the loss does. When we win I feel more relief than excitement. There is a quote in Moneyball where Billy Beane says " I hate losing, I hate losing even more than I love winning". That is exactly how I feel. The losses are just gut wrenching though, not because we are losing but because how we are losing. Every game this year there are those little things that just stab you in the chest.

The bottom line is that this team is just not very good. Whatever you want to attribute that to, coaching, drafting, GM, owner or whatever, you could probably say it was a combination of all of them and more. It seems like the team keeps making personnel decisions that make you scratch your head and you just ask yourself, "why". Considering we lost to supposedly the worst team in our division at home today doesn't bode well for this team or this season. We are now just barely in 3rd place in our division due to the Bills being 3-4 and we are 3-3, the Jets are 4-3 and the Pats are 5-2. I am just afraid that there is a chance that our record this season could be worse than last year. I would love to know what thoughts are running through Ross's mind right now.

By Sunday it'll be 5 weeks since their last win. Maybe they have a chance to end it at 6 weeks, though the somewhat sketchy Bengals are a better team and its in primetime. Not a good recipe for a Dolphins victory since they haven't won in primetime since 2009.

Philbin is an OC. He should be an OC and we should hire a good head coach. He said the team will get better as the season progresses and he's dead wrong. Even if we get to 5-3 I'll still believe we have the wrong head coach and a very inconsistent QB.

We beat Indy because its the NFL and mediocre teams beat better teams at least 1-2 times a year.

Last year we beat the Bengals on the road, that was our "big 1". Seattle...maybe you can count it, but they only won 3 road games last season. If that game was in Seattle we would've been steamrolled by the Seahawks. We beat Green Bay in 2010. We usually lose a few early on before we "shoot our load" and go on a tiny streak by beating a weak team then beating a superior one only to then throw it all away with some bad losses afterwards. This season we did it from the start.

Here is my relationship with Sports, I HATE IT! I always take big losses like this hard. I keep thinking about all the what if moments that could have changed everything. I love sports, but at the same time I hate it. Being a Dolphin fan my whole life I have a habbit where no matter how good the situation we are in I feel like we are going to blow it. Today we did just that and it re-insured my feelings. I guess that helps me coup with losing like this. Even though we started 3-0, I expected to get back to 3-3. I didn't think it would last, I hoped it did but Miami has always let me down, year after year. Despite this I am a fan and will always be a fan, and never ever regret picking the Dolphins to root for. I am a huge Yankees fan as well as a Dolphin fan, the fact that Miami has never won a super bowl made me a ever bigger fan of theirs. It makes me want to win that much more! I know our time will come one day. Right now I try and stay positive, ignore ESPN for a week, and hope we can go to NE and change our season around. This game is a game where we find out what team we have. If we lose, then yeah its bad. Most likely done. This loss was the worst it could get. Lets learn from this and move on.

I never questioned me being a Dolphin fan, I do get pissed seeing players like Drew Brees win a super bowl and can't help think, that could have been us. The day the Dolphins win a super bowl, and I really hope I see atleast one in my life will be the greatest feeling in the world. It will validate my fan hood. It to me will be better then any 5 Yankee world series wins I have experienced. Everything from the NFL.com shop that has Dolphin Super Bowl champs will be sold out because I will get everything they sell!
