    Eugene Monroe trade?

Should this have been something we should have been looking it as it's glaringly obvious that's a weak position for us?

2 x 2014 mid round draft picks to give Tanny a little more time to do his job and more important healthy in my opinion is worth it.

Right Tackle for me. Clabo is old and broken and I don't have a lot of hope for Dallas Thomas (if that is were he is being groomed for). Yes he's a rookie but if he can't see the field given how bad the right side of the line is I'm a little concerned. I'm hoping this isn't a Shawn Murphy thing all over again.

Martin is definitely improving, I don't see the need to replace him. Plus the cost of replacing him would be too prohibitive.

Jerry should be replaced though, I think the experiment with him should be brought to an end. I don't think he's ever going to improve beyond being a pretty poor guard.

Pretty discouraging to think about this O line. Off-season, Jerry seems to be working out, blah, blah, blah, still end up w/ a fat tub of goo who can't block anyone. Really had pretty high hopes for Clabo thinking that he wd be at least solid over there. Ugh.

The Jaguars have zero depth at the OT position going forward. Their backups are undrafted free agents.

It is extremely doubtful that the Jags will not sign him to a long term contract or at least franchise him next March.

Joeckel isn't exactly setting the world on fire down there. He might just remain at RT for the duration of his rookie contract.

The Jags have tons of cap room and next to 0 dead money on their books. If they care at all about building a future for their team they will not let Monroe go. They would just have to draft the position extremely high or spend money on a free agent RT and move Joeckel over, but the OT free agent market sucks in 2014.

No, I am sorry to say that OT is probably going to be the hardest position to fill next offseason except for, of course, QB.

OT Brandon Albert is going to turn 30 during the 2014 season; how much will an intelligent GM offer him?

Bengals OT Anthony Collins played well when LT Whitworth was injured. He is a free agent in 14. He was previously a risky prospect with character concerns; however, he may have grown up now and be worthy of a contract. He would be an improvement for the Dolphins at either side.

Maybe their is still hope for Will Yeatman but that project is looking a complete waste of time.

Dallas Thomas doesn't appear to have any future at all at the OT position. He will get stronger and play OG or nothing at all.

Dolphins could use improvements at both LT and RT going forward. I have been saying all along that Jonathan Martin is a swing tackle in the NFL and when you have a player openly admitting before the season even starts that his best days are behind him,(Clabo) , you have a serious problem.

Bad starting OT's and worse depth, but yeah, Ireland is a genius.

Maybe Jim Turner needs to be fired, but he hasn't had jack _ to work with.

I picked Clabo. He has been horrible this year. Although if we upgraded the RG position, we could always have a back or TE help Clabo.

This makes no sense for the Jags whatsoever.

Looks really suspicious to me. Looks like an owner who has given up on his team just took several million under the table to line his pockets. Can't really blame him too much. It's not like the Jags are money machine.

We are a dominant Oline away from getting deep into the playoffs. Yes we lack depth at other areas.. But Oline has to be a focus

Serious question.. How good are we with the Patriots Oline?

From what I have seen out of Tannehill.. I think he has top 5 QB stats behind Brady's line

Left tackle should be the Dolphins' highest priority because by fixing that position you can potentially go two-for-one, fixing both tackle positions on a longer term basis.

If you focus on fixing just the right tackle position then you're left with a persisting question mark at left tackle. I think there's less of a question mark if Martin moves to right tackle.

    Very interesting.

Levi Brown has not been performing well though. But then, nor has Mike Adams. It's an interesting trade.

I really would have liked to see Miami get involved in the Eugene Monroe trade.

The priority is hiring a GM who actually knows how to draft quality offensive linemen, secondary players and linebackers. These are the three weaknesses this team and Ireland hasn't shown the ability to upgrade these positions since he has been the teams GM.

In fact by signing Ellerbe and Wheeler, it appears he actually downgraded this unit from Dansby and Burnett.

The secondary and the OL have been major areas of concern for years and Ireland doesn't seem to have a clue as to how to fix these units.

One last comment regarding the recent draft. Ireland traded up and gave away a second round pick to take Jordan with the third pick in the draft. The coaches don't want to play Jordan on early downs because they don't have faith in his ability against the run. He has also been very ordinary when he comes in on passing downs. I just don't see him being an impact player for the Dolphins this year and I have a huge question regarding his long term ability as an impact player in the future. You just can't fail on the #3 pick in the draft, especially when it cost you your own first round pick and an additional second round selection.

Your analysis is a bit premature I believe for a 3 and 1 team..

    Linebackers I disagree with.

Secondary has two rookies stating to get reps, there's no room in your conviction for letting them show you what kind of players they are on a pro field...none...

    Same thing with Dion Jordan..

Wish you would stop talking sh&$ about players that are starting to get their reps now....so sorry they didn't start out as starters come the beginning of the year, maybe then your analysis would carry some substance.

Its pretty obvious that there is some sort of problem in our decision making process concerning Offensive linemen. Are there offensive linemen we should have signed and we didn't? Are there offensive linemen we signed that we shouldn't have? It seems like with our offensive line struggles is more than likely a combination of both. Tannehill is struggling and a lot has been said about his pocket awareness or pocket presence. He is still a young quarterback learning to play a position with limited starts but he is going to get killed behind our offensive line. Its hard to have a pocket awareness if your pocket is collapsing all around you. He doesn't have much time to go through his progressions and if his first choice is not open he doesn't have much time to look for other options. Who is coaching our offensive line? Is it Philbin?

He is one of the worst pass blocking LTs in the league. Wonder who the Cards plan to replace him with, Nate Potter?

I'd rather have Adams than Brown. Adams still has some upside. Brown has never been a good LT and at this point likely never will be.

Going back to this debate...to me the real question is more whether we should focus on a rookie or a veteran.

For example, we know two things about LT Branden Albert:

    1. The Dolphins had some interest in him
    2. The Chiefs will not be retaining him

That puts him square in the sights, doesn't it?

He's performing fairly well. He's let up only 1 sack and his Pass Block Efficiency is 12th best amongst offensive tackles. He's not a young man, he'll turn 30 years old late in the 2014 season, but he's not an old man either.

The big question I think a lot of folks had on him when the Dolphins were looking at trading for him was whether he can stay healthy. Thus far he has.

If you grab him and move Jonathan Martin to right tackle, do you knock out two birds with one stone, while NOT having to wait for a rookie tackle to develop?

^^ Why would a 5-0 team, very likely playoff bound, trade their starting left tackle even if he may not be back next season? Albert may have been square in the sites back during the off season, but things have changed a lot since then.

I guess for me right guard. I think if it's solid up front, good throwing lanes, then that might benefit Tanny the most. Just my thought.
