To explain why - His blitzes are terribly times and very obvious. -I- can tell who is faking and who is rushing before the play. So you sure as hell know Brees does. His coverage schemes are weak, near the goal line we have been burned NUMEROUS times in his tenure with his patented all out blitz with no adjustments.

 

I swear Coyle. His defense has allowed 3rd and long twice. Just poor playing calling. Generally being outcoached and I hate that when we have played the way we have on the line.

 

Jamar Taylor had the coverage down the field. Grimes and Clemmons were in the vicinity too by the time the ball got there.

Not going to blame players at all so far, playcalling on both sides of the ball has been bad.

We need a score, period. Any kind of score. And our pass rush is non existent today.

A couple Tannehill mistakes have swung the game so far.

His nonchalance getting the ball snapped on a close first down, where we had to give the ball up after it was challenged.

And his fumble leading to 7 points for the Saints instead of ? Points for us.

Honestly, if we can score a TD and go into halftime at 14-10 I'd be thrilled.

We are a good second half team.

Coaches are great at halftime adjustments.

Taylor did all he could. The issue was that 3rd and 20 plays earlier. Coyle is not adjusting for Sproul, but most coaches have trouble with that matchup.

Not worried either.

Just wondering why everyone thinks Coyle is a solid DC. The more and more I watch of his tenure, the more I see he needs to be replaced. The only time this defense wins the battle is when they are making individual plays with their own talent. That is great but you cant run a successful defense that way IMO.

 

The defensive plan so far has been to erase everyone else and let Sproles beat them. I think I rather let Colston beat us.

 

Dolphins are winning line of scrimmage and being outcoached. That is my take on this half.

 

Agreed. If we're within 7 at the half, I'd be thrilled too. We'd have a chance there. Anymore than that though, and I'm not so sure, we'd need some miracle turnovers, this saints offense doesnt cough it up much though.

 

Taylor couldn't have done much more there. He was all in front of Graham...got his hand in there. What he needed was a safety popping Graham in the back..not jumping up behind him late.

The positive is we've been moving the ball. We just can't shoot ourselves again

 

It was good coverage. Grimes should have blown it up but judged it wrong.
