Tannehill has hit the ground 14 times so far, but Brees has been put down 10 times. Both teams are struggling with protection and running the ball.

Some of this isn't the Olines fault though. We're having problems with the backs and TEs blowing assignments or missing blocks. A couple of the sacks, Tannehill has stepped into and sometimes the WRs aren't getting separation and he is holding the ball too long waiting for someone to create separation. In the Colts game, Gibson struggled getting off the line, and in the Brown's game Wallace's routes were taking too long.

Regardless, it's all leading to sacks, and strips. Sherman took the blame for two of the sacks in the Falcons game, saying he made the wrong play call based on what he thought the Falcons would do and then Tannehill didn't have an option to audible out of.

Brees being put down 10 times and the Saints having their own protection issues is a plus for us with our DLine as we should be able to apply more pressure in this game. Also the Saints are ranked around 24th in the league in rushing.

Hopefully Wallace, Hartline, and Gibson are able to get off the line quickly and our running game shows up for all 4 qtrs.

There is a time to run.I'm sure as he gets more comfortable each game we will see some more situations when he will take off with the ball.As of right now he seems to be improveing his game and is far ahead of last year.

Ball travels faster through the air than it does in the hands....

I like the fact that RT is hanging in there fearlessly....but he's got to realize that there are times in the game where if he's got a chance to run 4yds for on 2nd & 4, he better do it. Sometimes you just have to take what they give you. Right now every defense in the league knows he aint moving.

I think we see a few wrinkles tonight....some RT mobility and some shallow crosses by Wallace to try to break a big one.

I agree. It's something he'll have to develop if he wants to maximize his potential.
