You're right. All that justice got served to him last week. If you want justice for Walt, that is the episode you must cherish, because there is nothing but redemption from all that suffering in the finale.

However, I think Jesse deserved some revenge on Walt beyond just telling him "do it yourself. " Walt is responsible for the deaths of two of Jesse's girlfriends, Walt tried to have him killed, didn't even hesitate to let him go off and get tortured, and was able to rub salt in the wound by telling him about Jane. I just wish they could have given Jesse some final non-violent **** you. The way Hank was able to tell Walt he never saw anyone so smart be too stupid to realize Hank was already dead. Jesse deserved a moment like that more than Hank. Especially because I'm not sure Jesse's life is ever going to be good again.

Why did Jesse deserve any moment? He was a tweaker turned meth manufacturer. He had some ****ty things happen to him, but a lot of it was born from his own poor choices. I have sympathy for a lot of what happened to him, but he is the one that chose a life of crime.

And he chose to leave the life of crime. Then was kidnapped, tortured, and made to works as a slave. His gf/love was murdered right in front of him. All this after he left that life. So tell me again why all that was ok?

    For the real world Jesses , I don't give a ****.

Dramatically , they put this fictional Jesse through absolute hell. I think he deserved better, dramatically, than to choke just one of the guys who put him through that hell.

It wasn't ok. It was an inherent danger of becoming a criminal. Nobody throughout the entire show was able to just leave their life of crime and move on.

He did reverge for one murder, when he choked Todd to death.

Vince Gilligan pointed out that a few episodes ago, Jesse told Walt that he was done listening to him and would never do what he wanted ever again. Walt wanted Jesse to take his revenge. Walt wanted to be punished. So Jesse refused to listen to him, like he promised. He just wanted to be done with him and run away. Like I wrote a few pages back, it didn't really make sense for Jesse to kill Walt at that point. All the times Jesse has killed have done nothing but haunt him and decay his soul. It was simply time to move on, forever.

As for Walt. He took control of his fate. Before, Walt was always at someone's mercy and finally, the Nazi's/Lydia, had all taken his empire away, they had taken control of his creation, they stole his money, he had been pushed out of the picture, just as with Gray Matter. In the finale, Walter took his empire back, put himself back on top by destroying it. In the end, he took the power from all of them, even Gretchen and Elliot, he saved himself, saved his legacy by destroying what he had built, saved Jesse, even if that wasn't his original intention, as well as rescuing his family. In the end, Heisenberg and Walt became one again. His death preserves all that was truly most important in his life.

As for him not being punished... See the final phone call with his son. It destroyed him. That relationship, is the only one without any resolution.

I couldn't be more satisfied. This episode didn't need a sixth sense episode to be enjoyable. I couldn't care less if it was predictable. To me, the predictability is strong writing. There was a logical conclusion. No Dues Ex Machina to suddenly bring it all together in the final minutes. No curveballs that ask more questions then it answers. Everything came full circle.

10/10 TV show. Breaking Bad is one of a kind. Enjoy it, there will never be one like it again.

Jesse is the only one that made it out alive. That is a better outcome than almost everyone else.

Plus Jesse observed Walt's gun shot wound so he knew Walt was done regardless, so I thought he was perhaps spitefully opting for Walt to experience a slow death rather than quickly putting him out of his misery.

Jesse put himself through it by choosing a risky, dangerous life of large scale drug dealing.
He heaved gobs of the country's most dangerous drug onto the streets w/o regard to how it destroys users and families.
He was an accessory to murder.
He involved his criminal self with Andre which directly got her killed and left her child motherless.
He selfishly contributed to Jane Margolis falling off the wagon which led to her overdose and death.

Gimme a break man. Jesse wasn't close to put through what he collectively put everyone else through. He walked away ALIVE.

I don't know how buyable that is considering 30 seconds prior he was busy snapping Todd's neck. Not sure enough time elapsed from that moment for his conscience to enter a state of clarity.

Jesse wasn't just an accessory, he was a murderer. In fact, Jesse was the only murderer on the show that made it out alive, unless I'm forgetting someone.

Because Todd would have lived if Jesse didn't kill him. Walt was dying either way, either at his own hands, or the hands of Jesse.

The final episode was very satisfying, despite the lack of a big surprise. They handled the Jessee subplot (yes, its a subplot. this show is about WW) perfectly. And we got Badger and Skinny Pete in there!!!!!!!!

This show ruled. This final season ruled. I have no qualms.

Now now....if Walt isn't there she dies from OD anyways. He didn't make her take drugs. (Jane)

And Andrea? Jesse doesn't deserve any blame for bringing her into this? He knew who he was involved in. Staying with or keeping contact with Andrea was dumb on his part, Walt isn't "responsible" for her passing, he never ordered a hit on her.

BTW, I strongly disagree about the notion that nobody else was close to put through what Jesse was.

Hank is dead. Marie is a widow. The innocent Walt Jr's life was flipped upside down and will likely never recover. Skyler's life is ruined. Gomez is dead. Mike is dead. Andrea is dead. Jane Margolis is dead. The innocent kid on the bike is dead. Lydia is dead. Gus is dead. Todd and the Nazis are dead. Ted is a cripple. John Margolis will forever live with knowing he couldn't save his daughter.

Based on what happened to everyone else, Jesse's punishment fell well short of his crimes. All he was subjected to was some physical torture and temporary imprisonment when he should've been imprisoned for life. What do you think would've happened to his scrawny, emotionally fragile self behind bars? He'd be chuggin' c*** for protection to prevent a lifetime of pooping semen.

I'm referring to everything that led up to the final episode. I wouldn't label someone as a murderer per se for killing their captor in the heat of a moment.
You realize my post was adding to your argument right?

but he did kill Todd. He chose that. He could've stopped before snapping his neck, so I don't think it can be argued that Jesse suddenly became worried about his conscious less than a minute after killing Todd.

My memory is hazy right now but didn't Walt bump into Jane or try to move Jesse in bed and thus Jane rolled over on her back? I could be totally wrong but I could have swarn that Walt was somewhat responsible for the death because if he didn't try to move Jesse, Jane wouldn't have rolled over on her back and choked to death on her puke. Obviously he didn't try to help her so you can probably blame him for watching her die and not do anything to stop it.

Also regarding Andrea, remember how and why Jesse first started talking to her in the first place? He met her at a AA meeting and tried to get her to buy his stash so he could make money during one of his and Walt's falling outs.

No one is innocent in this show except for maybe Walt Jr. Everyone else has done something bad during the series whether it's stealing (Marie), cheating on your husband (Skyler) or just being crooked (Saul). Its one of the things that makes the show so great.

Now Better call Saul can be a prequel and sequel after they get caught up if they decide to go that route. Even though the perfect ending for his show would be the introduction of Walt

Exactly. If anything, Jess is the one responsible for their deaths. His selfishness got them killed. They'd both be alive if he never pushed his drug-dealing self upon them.

Walt didn't push Jane off the wagon, and he didn't make her take the drugs that caused her OD. Horse before the cart. Jane died b/c of her own actions, and her actions were heavily influenced by Jesse.

And? It doesn't matter how and why Jesse started talking to Andrea. All that matters is that he started talking to her, period. He was a big time drug dealer who chose to involve an innocent girl and her son in his dangerous, volatile, life.

As someone who's not a fan of the Saul spin off I really hope it stays a prequel, there's really no point of a sequel. Things ended perfectly.

Right but playing devil's advocate here, (and assuming Walt trying to wake up Jesse meant that he accidently pushed Jane to her back) you can certainly make the argument that if Walt doesn't show up perhaps Jane doesn't die. Even if she pukes, she'd be puking on her stomach and thus wouldn't choke to death. Plus let's not forget that Walt was watching her die and did nothing to save her purely out of selfish reasons. Walt isn't innocent in her death, he has blood on his hands even if he wasn't the "cause" of death.

My point with Jesse and Andrea is that Jesse wasn't an angel in this, which I think was your point. Jesse had bad intentions from the start when it came to Andrea. He's not blameless in this.

yes but if Jane doesn't make the conscious choice to use a hardcore drug, it wouldn't have mattered how Walt moved her, and he didn't intentionally flip her over to cause asphyxiation. Furthermore, if Jesse hadn't pushed himself on Jane to begin with, she wouldn't have been in bed with him when Walt arrived. The bottom line is Jesse ignored her desire to get clean. Her relationship with him caused her to fall off the wagon, and she subsequently OD'd because of it. She could've just as readily died from her OD had Walt not showed up considering Jesse was dead to the world asleep at the time.

    okay, agree on that point.

Don't play coy on the Jane death. Not saving a life that could simply be saved by a gentle nudge is killing someone. It's why it was such a huge turning point for most in their like/dislike of Walt.

For the record, I'm speaking in terms of Jesse's mindset. He attacked Walt in that last scene for a reason.

Jesse does not deserve the blame for Andrea's death. She was brought back into all this by Walt sending Todd and the Nazis after Jesse. And using Andrea and Brock as bait.

Jesse deserves plenty of blame for his own situation. But Walt's manipulation of him was the greater evil, and a hallmark of the show.

    Live from the Internet.
If its set right, it could definitely be good.

Ari Gold should of gotten his own spin off. I'd watch a season or two of him telling people to go **** themselves in various ways lol not to mention Entourage was a hot steamy pile of doo doo over last few seasons. I did like the finale tho.

    Sorry to hijack the tread.

This "theory" is going around the internet that Walt died in the car in NH and everything that happened was a dream:

    http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/culture/2013/09/breaking-bad-finale-reviewed.html

Personally, while it's an interesting read I don't see how or why that would be the case. There were numerous things that Walt didn't know about, mainly stuff involving Jesse like him being held by Uncle Jack or why would he be dreaming about Jesse making a box which is a call out to when Jesse was in AA and told the story about him making a wooden box in shop class. Plus Breaking Bad has also been a straight up TV show and never hinted at Walt dying in the car. Maybe if he closed his eyes or went to sleep/passed out I'd have an easier time buying it but nothing that was done suggested it was a dream.

Anyway I thought I'd just share it in case anyone wanted to discuss it.

Honestly, not buying it at all given the reasons you mention. Vince said that there was no open ended ending and I believe him

I was just watching Drive. They ask Bryan Cranstons character where Ryan Gosling character is and he says "Mexico.... Maybe Belize" thought that was pretty cool/interesting! Also Dolphins were 3-0 when breaking bad was on. After the final episode, they lose two straight. I just hope their season doesn't go to Belize
