it's to pay for players who are more worthy of their contracts. Long was abused today for 2 sacks, one of which saw him completely planted on his ***. BTW, don't you feel embarrassed & foolish today!!! You should really try and gain better control of your emotions. If how whiney and annoying you prematurely were during this game is any accurate representation then you must be a real bundle of joy to be around during your daily life.
We will continue to be a one dimensional team until the offensive line gets it together, but fortunately, the flashes they have been showing have been barely enough.
No we're not a lock but I saw something on television a little earlier saying that 75% of teams that have started 3-0 have made the postseason. We are 3-0 going through the toughest part of our schedule.
Ive gone to a total of 8 or 9 games in the last few years.. this was the most packed I have ever seen the stadium personally. Everyone was on their feet for the defense. . Stadium so loud you couldnt hear yourself think at times. And everyone just lost it after that missed fg. By far the best game ive ever been to. The energy was so real. Just an unbelievable experience.
Its pretty much common knowledge Long has regressed. Even with his new scheme he's not impressing in St Louis. The 'we should have re-signed Long' posts are wearing pretty thin now.
77.4% and 2002 is the reason it's not much higher. 2002 6 3-0 teams failed to make the playoffs. The dirty half dozen that polluted the 3-0 stat? Carolina Panthers: 7-9 • Denver Broncos: 9-7 • Miami Dolphins: 9-7 • New England Patriots: 9-7 • New Orleans Saints: 9-7 • San Diego Chargers: 8-8
Yep, and I'm not saying Martin is better, he's pretty average but so is Long (other than run blocking). I rather have Martin out there than pay 30 million to a guy for the same production.
Good post, all valid concerns. I'd agree that if things werent working elsewhere on the field, that we need to feed Wallace more, but at this point, I just don't see the need for panic, its likely by design, its working so far. If we were seeing examples time after time where Wallace is running around wide open, and our QB is ignoring it, or whatever, I'd be concerned more. At this point its leaving Hartline, Gibson, and Clay other opportunities, they're making the most of them, so, its working. Teams may start to adjust to try and take that away, leaving Wallace more opportunities. You just never know, the coaches I'm sure are looking at our opponents on tape, looking at their weaknesses, and finding the ways to exploit that the best. He's going to get his chances, the Indy game shows us that. Don't expect us to blow teams out, at least not at this point of the schedule. That Cleveland defense is proving to be tough, Indy was a playoff team last year, just destroyed SF today, Atlanta almost went to the SuperBowl last year, and is a contender this year, up next is the Saints, and the Ravens still... Take what the defense gives us, why make it more difficult than that? I agree it keeps the games tight, but its growing confidence in every member of this team, including the QB, and that's HUGE for us moving forward, it will allow us to open things up more as we move along I'd think... I get your concern though, but sometimes the opportunities just arent there. To be honest, from what we see on TV all we can do is assume without further, in depth examination into why he's maybe not getting the ball.
Winning a game against a high level opponent when you have about half the top is sweeeeet! The kind of wins you need here and there to be a playoff team , character win for Miami , and 17 goes clutch when it mattered ! Just like Al always said , Just Win Baby .

It'll be just like last week, these borderline trolls come to the game thread each week, whine and whine same old dolphins for the last three weeks. Never, have any of them returned after the game, or during the week after each of these three come from behind wins to praise the effort of this team. Personally, I dont know why we.... well... nevermind. I wont go there
I like seeing Ross over there, he definitely deserves it. That's his handpicked coach right there delivering the goods.
It's funny how many of the negative Nancy's seem to only enjoy posting when it involves whining & complaining. What's not funny is how they always attempt to hide their incessant whining behind the 1st Amendment crap. {not to be confused with those who expressed prior concerns in a legitimate respectable manner rather than all the condescending or annoying crap}
Yeah, naturally all I can really do is just speculate, and of course I'm happy we're undefeated. My initial concern was just that is seemed as if the play calling was designed to cut the field in half for Tannehill today in order to get the ball out quicker I suppose. He just very rarely seemed to even look toward Wallace's side of the field. I think there's a happy medium we can achieve between targeting our best asset just two times all game and forcing the ball to him when it isn't there.
You may very well be right, our offense is based on getting the ball out quickly generally. Ryan is still inexperienced given his lack of starts at QB, so maybe they are trying to make it quick and easy for him today against a good defense. I find that a bit hard to believe, we woudlnt have gone out and gotten the new group of WR's if we were planning on limiting their use. I think Ryan was just rattled today, which is understandable given our OL play as of late, I dont think he was seeing the field well, or making his reads well. There's alot that could go into it...
Jeff Ireland feels extra good about this play: http://www.nfl.com/videos/miami-dolphins/0ap2000000248780/Wilson-picks-off-Ryan 3rd overall pick in 2013 makes it easy for the 235th overall pick in 2011 to seal the game.
Pauly banned his stupid *** last game for trashing the team in the game thread. Hopefully the dbag stays away.
Don't get me wrong. I'm EXTREMELY happy that we are winning. However, its almost like we are winning despite not getting our most explosive receiver the ball. I don't buy into this decoy assumption. I mean Atlanta don't use Julio as just a decoy do they? He's explosive, so they find ways to get him the ball. I understand that they are two different players but Wallace is our most explosive receiver. Get him the ball. That is all. GREAT WIN!!!!
Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, but it just feels like anything that isn't directly positive or complimentary toward the team at the moment is either ignored completely or treated as an insult simply because we won the game. We can only have discussions about how awesome we are following a win? Concerns are not valid as long as we get the "W"? I just don't get that. There's plenty to discuss after every game. Ignoring things that didn't go smoothly just makes everything seem so stale.
Julio can do much more as a WR and route runner than Mike Wallace. I'm with you guys in the sense I want to see him get the ball, I just dont want us to be forcing it to him if Hartline, Clay and Gibson are getting the job done, and that goes the same for all of them as well. As I stated earlier, I was upset to see the huge cushion Samuel was giving Wallace, and we never took advantage of that with a screen (like last week), or some routes underneath. Maybe if I can when I do the offensive charting for this weeks game, ill keep an eye on Wallace and his routes. It's tougher since I dont have access to the All 22 footage, but Ill see what I can see when I start reviewing the game again tomorrow.
SICK = 3 - 0. Jot that down and don't forget it. His inspiring posts are a contributing factor to major karma. Give this man his props. 3 and 0. Anyone starting a gameday thread (serious one) needs a gut check - or cup check. SICK for MVP of the first 3 games.
