NE will probably be pretty good by then and do not sleep on Buffalo. they have a ton of talent. But yes, if we can get through the first half 5-3 or so, then we should be in very good shape
Thats what I've been sayin' - Buffalo is better than you think and with the D-Line they have and the freak RB and QB as far as rushing the football - They match up well against Miami.
Yeah, I could not disagree with this sentiment any more. The reality is that the final eight, and in particular the last three road games, are going to be a lot more difficult than they appear to be on paper at this moment. Anyone who thinks that we're simply strolling into the Meadowlands, Heinz Field and the Ralph (in late December) and earning easy Ws is kidding themselves. That four game stretch starting on December 1st is going to be a grind.
Hate having three division games to end the year. Those games are always more toss-ups, imo, due to familiarity and rivalries. Pats at home will probably have big playoff scenario pressure, the Bills look like a talented team whose rookie could really be flowing by then with those offensive weapons, but luckily the Jets will have likely mailed it in...and really, they're just terrible. As for Atlanta, I expect a W. Home opener against an overrated QB who's not very good on the road...ATL beat up by injuries...we're riding a wave of optimism. I expect us to bring heat and rough-up Matty check-down for all 4 quarters.
I say double Julio with Patterson and Clemons, and double Gonz with Reshod and 1 LB/S, take your chances and cover everyone else 1 on 1. Maybe even put 1 LB roaming the middle as the other 5 rush Matty with multiple fronts and blitzes.
Looking forward to seeing Wake get back on track. I was pumped to see him wreck Luck last week, but Cherilus and the Colts protections handled him soundly. Looking for multiple hits on that Falcons pretty boy.
ive watched both buffalo games on rewind and I disagree. Buffalo is good on defense. Their dline is strong pass rushing and certainly poses a threat. They've got decent LBs and a good secondary too. They're beatable though. Our Receiving core matches up well though with three receiving threats. Cam Newton struggled to find anyone else open brides Steve Smith. Ted Ginn routinely beat them deep. Mike Wallace will do the same and Gibson and Hartline can clean up elsewhere. No excuse not to put up 24 points. Offensively, They've played two very ugly defenses and have gotten away with a win. Emanuel is trash. Very inaccurate throwing down field. He constantly checks down to his RBs for easy completions. In fact, of buffalos 45 receptions, over half (23) have gone to a RB. Scott Chandler has 7 catches too, and only 49 yards. manuel is not a threat to us. With our run D, and LBs, we should easily squash that offense. Eliminate the check downs and force Manuel to throw deep into coverage and Miami wins, easily. It's going to be like playing Cleveland all over again, sans Cameron Jordan. There's no excuse for losing to buffalo, IMO.
The game is at the Ralph, in late December. You're kidding yourself if you think that is an easy win.
A good strong pass rushing D-Line (Which they have) is a threat to Miami. That spells Jail-Break for our O-Line and since the games are so far off yet, injuries could make that matchup even worse. I hate jail break - it spells disaster with turnovers. Buffalo is no walk over. Any team that gets after the QB with a good D-line is going to be hard on us.
I will !!! The "moral victory" mindset gets you no where. If we truly turned the corner then you`re damn right I expect to win this game. Home opener against a quality team after 2 road victories would be huge. If this was on the road then a loss might be easier to take but IMO a loss Sunday is inexcusable if we are for real.
This is true, bills defense is good enough to keep them in the game, bills home field is good enough to keep them from being flat, however, ej will make mistakes against our defense, he's a compartmentalized Qb at this point.
hey guys falcon fan here hoping for a good game on Sunday no more injuries especially on myself side lord knows we have enough already
According to the beat writers the Dolphins released a Thursday injury report that designates what all the players would have done if they had not had the day off. Ryan Tannehill still would have been Limited. Same with Will Davis, Jamar Taylor, Pat Devlin, Koa Misi and Jimmy Wilson. Dimitri Patterson would have been "Did Not Practice". That's a change. Mike Wallace has now appeared on the report but is listed as Full Participation. That's also a change.
Yep. While our definitions of what ends up constituting a "good game" would probably differ, I can definitely empathize on the injury front. Hopefully, the law of averages kicks in and neither team loses any more players to injuries this game. I'd say "good luck", but you know I'd be lying!
What is the line like now guys? I am from Canada and don't really follow much on the gambling end. I think last I seen it was ATL @ -0.5. That still current?
Ugh. I really hope Dmitri is ready to play Sunday. It would also be nice to have Taylor or Davis ready to go also.
They do indeed. Really like that defense, and Charles is the man. 3-0 going into a long week to prepare for the GMen. Then they get TEN and OAK. Not a bad place to be.
Man...I tell you...Im excited as hell to see what our defense looks like with all of our "A" pieces on the field. And..when the time comes to unleash a full dose of DJ..... I really really do think...the only thing holding us back from unlimited potential this season...is our offensive line.
I like that raider team and their QB from the preseason film, they've come out playing very well, Pryor is legit imo.Raiders finally found their guy..and their a physical team.
according to PFF Brent Grimes is tied with Darrelle Revis for the 1st CB and Nolan Carroll is the 6th best rated CB in the league
yeah reshad is having a tough start to the year, clemons is really a big loss if he can't play tomorrow, which is probably the case
Interesting ratings: Brian Hartline is PFF's #4 WR Ryan Tannehill is PFF's #9 QB Shockingly Daniel Thomas is PFF's #20 RB. Lamar Miller #49 Cameron Wake #5 (Shelby by the way is a 0.7 which is positive!) Our DT's are awesome. #6 and #7 are Starks and Soliai. Odrick is 14th (out of 56) Our LB's aren't doing well in PFF ratings. Philip Wheeler is #16 4-3 OLB and absolutely getting destroyed versus the pass. It's his rushing ability that keeps him positive. Koa Misi is 32nd not because of his coverage (which is rated ok).....he's rated poor in rushing and against the run. Ellerbe is 32nd. What makes this hurt more is Burnett is #9 and Dansby is #18. Hopefully this sorts itself out over the season. CB's Brent Grimes is #2 and Nolan is 27th (Nolan's ability against the run takes a hit here). Wilson is 49. Not overly horrible considering our injury history here and the fact there are 90 rated CB's at this point who have played 25% of snaps. Safety Chris Clemons is the stud at #5 only allowing 1 completion against him in 6 attempts. For 3 yards and still has 2 passes defended. Reshad Jones is struggling at #65. Needs to pull it together. Caleb "Ice Veins" Sturgis is #4. Fields is 24th (I'm sure this will sort itself out). Thigpen is 5th.
Grimes has always been good, only problem was his inability to stay on the field. Don't expect Ryan to throw Grimes way much unless it's a fade on the goal-line purely due to height advantage. Whoever has the better turnover margin wins the game IMO, should be a good game.
DOn't agree with some of those... must be a difference in what I put weight in as important, versus what they do.
I think we will see the same lineup that went against the colts if Clemmons is healthy..Grimes, Nolan, Jimmy. If we struggle then expect to see the rookies. Yes, with Taylor and Davis in the wings, I let the season play out, see where Nolan and the rooks flash in a full season, then make an informed decision, that decision will be highly predicated on what market is out there for Nolan... I' m a big believer in Jamar Taylor, I've looked at most of his reps in college and I believe he's a bad ***..Davis with his quickness, great feet, COD, and hands I think is good for the slot, if our rooks play well, and Nolan continues this level of play then lets see what the market offers and either match or let him go if he's to expensive. If Davis doesn't flash as much as we'd like this year, then sign Nolan to a nickel corner contract and let will and him battle next year for the nickel spot, loser gets the dime.
