I agree with you on this, I'm just nervous because I have that "here we effing go again" feeling. All of a sudden we have depth questions on defense, jamar Taylor misses california, Keller blows out a knee, Tannehill to Wallace is taking time to develope, and Miller really hasn't stepped up and seized the running back position. I honestly thought that he would be the one sure thing we had going into this year. I really don't want to be teased by Daniel Thomas any longer. I just need to chill I guess, and everything will sort itself out. Whiskey, cola, ice please.

Concerned is fine. Concerned about Tannehill? Fine. Concerned about the RBs? Sure. Concerned about TEs? OK. Concerned about the secondary? I don't see it.

Don't get me wrong, I really like both Davis and Taylor but we need one of them to get it done like right now. My money is actually on Davis being the one to do it. I mentioned the secondary but I am truthfully more worried about Tannehill, Miller, an Wallace over everything else. I feel like those three need to have a big season for us to be any good. The fact that we are still seeing these wtf moments from Tannehill bothers me more than anything. I think he's going to be fine though...I guess.

Talking the second quote first, my apologies. I didn't mean to insinuate anything about you, but since you took it that I did, I apologize for that. I'm just glad you didn't start a thread. You nailed it on the annoyance. That said, I don't think I or anyone else is going to be able to alleviate anyone else's concerns, if they're internal worries you have.

But... I'll take a shot anyway:

    1) Mike Wallace - If you watched the last preseason game, you might have seen how much room Jonathan Joseph (a very good CB) gave Wallace on that first long out that Tannehill hit him on. He was what? 5-10 yards open? So we hit that pass, and the Texans decide to bring in the coverage a bit. And then Tannehill hits him on the 33-yard over-the-shoulder grab. Mike Wallace is going to be Mike Wallace. He is good. He is fast. He does well at making the over-the-shoulder catches. And he's very good when plays break down. Roethlisberger was good with that, too. But he didn't "make him look good". Wallace is good. I have no fear of him busting. None. Getting $60M worth? Remains to be seen. But not with Wallace busting, as you put it.

    2) Lamar Miller hasn't run too bad. In another thread, CK put up individual plays comparing Lamar's runs with Daniel Thomas', and it's clear Miller has been the better runner. Miller, in my opinion, has been hamstrung by his own mistakes. A botched handoff with Tannehill in the Cowboys game and the dropped pass on third-and-two in the Texans game. On his runs, Miller has been dynamic (and decisive for the most part), hit holes with explosion, and looked really quick. I commented in a different thread how I think the cream will rise to the top as the regular season starts. Miller's talent is there. Good to see that the mistakes have come early, but he's got to work on cutting them out of his game. He doesn't have a history of fumbling (last year or college) so I think that's an anomaly. The dropped pass was a lack of concentration. He didn't catch a boatload of passes last year, so that's something to watch. But also, it's something he knows he needs to work on and have down.

    3) The O-line has been discussed ad nauseum, but I'll try and reiterate. Jonathan Martin, no one will absolutely know for sure until the real bullets fly, but without a doubt he seems to be getting better game-by-game. Compare how he's been in games this preseason with how he played last season at either tackle, and it looks like he's taken a big step forward. You can even tell by the latest practice reports and coach interviews -- he's gotten better. Incogs and Pouncey are current Pro Bowlers, as was Clabo a few years back. Clabo's got some age on him, but he can do the job at right tackle. RG has been the sieve with Samuda and a still-recovering Lance Louis, but Jerry is now taking reps as the starter. He's recovering as well, but hopefully by the season opener, he'll be up to par, which is about average for a RG. You put all that together, and maybe some help from Simms at TE and the backs in pass protection, and it's got to be better than last year. And Tannehill's going to be a year wiser as well.

    4) I'll do exactly that: Pat Revlon will not be starting by week 12 as the team limps to a six-win season.

    5) I'm not with Omar on this. I'm on the other side.

Once again, sorry about the comment that came across as snide. Hope these help your concerns, but like I said, people are going to be people. They'll have their concerns regardless of what others say. I'm trying, though.

Omar's cookin dramafrom yo mama's recipe. The offense has been as expected. Tannehill growing and building chemistry with a whole new offense, save a few players. Take away the opening fumble, & some other cold starts.... we've looked pretty sharp. The real story should be how ruthless our defense looked in Houston at the start, and how Wallace was ready to put up 100 + and a few touches on theirs. They've got to be considered the best def. in the afc at this point.... Right ? Daniel Thomas making a case for a 1-2 punch at RB is another noteworthy assessment. Perfect Combo if they make it work.

It seems that since the premature Oline panic, Keller injury, and now the cut at corner ( had to be expected ), we're letting the "here we go again" mentality creep in. Omar will of course feed this baby monster. And feed it some more. The team can pretty much make Omar play their game if they win, so heres hoping this is his last desperate strike to turn his readers/the fan base to the dark side.

    No we don't though.

The importance of the secondary in this passing league is overrated because the secondary has little ability to actually stop the passing game. That's by design of the Competition Committee. More passing, more scoring, more exciting games (to the average fan).

Having said that, our secondary, as is, is one of the stronger in the league. Our worst starter is average. Few teams can say that about a whole unit and we can say that about the secondary, the dline and the WRs.

I realize it is not on the website but the article referring to the offense as a hot mess in my dead tree edition today was, IIRC, bylined Chris Perkins.

@finrunner no worries man, those are my internal worries and I admit that. It remains to be seen, but the Keller injury felt like the ground was pulled out from underneath me.

I'll buy into that...our front seven along with our pass rushing probably has a bigger impact towards defending the pass. Every DB gets burned in this league.

Lamar Miller hasn't impressed. Supposed to be that one cutter.
Daniel Thomas might be the best RB in Miami right now.
Hell I know he is also the man voted least likely to get the nod according to the fanbase. :jt0323:

He hurried him into what may have been a grounding call, then he grabbed the front of his jersey and started poking his finger at Brady's face, saying who knows what.

Tom Brady: "He's pointing his finger at Tom Brady, ref! You going to just stand there while Tom Brady gets a finger pointed at him?!?"

    I stopped reading at RB.

I $hit you not, if Thomas is the starting back snap 1 againts Cleve, this entire staff needs to go. They might as well move us to LA. Am i exaggerating? Yes. Is it warranted? YES. A blind, deaf, mute; bound, wrapped in duct tape wearing sun glasses in an isolation chamber with metallica blasting at psychological warefare, ridiculous octaves Bose would be envious of could see, hear, sense, and be quicker to shout out how incredibly blatant it is that Thomas doesn't have the potential in his entire body that Miller beholds in one pinky fingernail.

I'm telling you, as there once lived the curse of the bambino, there was berthed a curse of the Marino.

The ref blew the whistle, citing an obscure rule, allowing the Pats a first down, who then went on to win the game. The penalty would be heretofore known as the Mascara Rule. It would be another decade or so after that, when the Rules Committee would strike that rule form the book.

Yes, but that is sheer stupidity and immaturity on the part of the defender.

Brady is a whiney crybaby, but he knows how to work the system - and everyone knows it. The taunting rules are not new either. Idiots like that guy would drive me crazy if I were a coach. He did something good, then completely hurt the team and came away looking stupid. Stuff like this is why Detroit is a perennial loser.

Doesn't have anything to do with it being Brady. If JJ Watt did that to Pat Devlin, not that he ever would, there would still be a taunting call.

Look, he can be annoyingly obtuse, mainly because he tries too hard to 'seem' a certain way instead of just trying less and being himself... but he isn't a total moron.

That's what's annoying, because once in awhile he has info I want, so I have to sift through all the other detritus and upchuck to get to it.

We're 21st in total offense, 14th in scoring, meaning we're efficient with our drives (not a lot of Sparano Fist Pumps and turnovers). A definite improvement, with a lot more to go. Let's get those near the top 10.
