yeah... That's for sure! Last preseason is when I noticed and started talking about him. He looked like a starting TE and I'd put him in the top half of the TE's in the league. I think many fans will be pleasantly surprised with what we got!
Probly bc the FO figures "well hes the most experienced TE on the roster so we better not cut him we're sure we have our solid 3 and nobody's injured before the season." I would think that Mulligan and Halterman are gone before Martin is.
I get the impression they like Martin's potential, he's a true athlete. We saw last season that he struggled as a starting tight end, but why not keep the guy that can create match up problems on the team? He is a big, strong wide reciever playing at tight end and those guys can often break a game open when put in the right situation.
