Does no one care about this? Its on the front page of NFL.com now... Why give someone added motivation to beat you? If this was from a vet I wouldnt care... but from someone who will be getting 15-20 snaps a game? Thats like writing a check that someone else has to pay for (or however that cliche' goes):P. Come on rook! Dolphins' Jordan: 'I never lost to Andrew Luck. I don't plan on it'
I have no problem with what Jordan said. I do, however, have a problem with your knee-jerk criticism of a non-issue.
This is only a real story if he said "I never lost to Andrew Luck, but I will Sunday." This isn't trash talk. He's not disrespecting the Colts. He's showing confidence in his own team.
Linky no worky Also, that's pretty weak in the trash talk department. He's saying he doesn't plan on losing...well...duh
He is just stating facts and getting into the head of Luck in the process. JT used to do that all the time with Brady .
On a related note, when did people get so sensitive to actual trash talk? I think it adds extra fire and makes things more interesting, as long as you're not crossing a line. I wish it was still acceptable.
Running his mouth? Cmon man. Clearly, this is another example of Philbin not knowing how to keep his players from speaking to the press. /sarcasm
I don't know. I would have rathered he say it on the field to Luck or maybe after the game when/if we win. Those serve the same purpose, but don't give them any bulletin board material.
Here's some trash talk: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...9ers-anthony-dixon-rips-into-seattle-shehawks "she-hawks vs forty-whiners"
I'm sure that Luck can look at last weeks' film and decide how worried he should be about Jordan. IMO, Jordan needs to worry more about Jordan and less about everyone else at this point. After a few consistent games, if he wants to talk...great...
None of that kaepernick bs. Tough guy takes to twitter after his team beats the packers. If you aren't man enough to say it before the game, don't say it at all. Course, this better mean we see a lot more dion Jordan this week.
people get so wrapped up in the mantra of trash talk is bad that everything besides the patriots patented "they are a great team" becomes trash talk. Its redonkeylious
Jesus guys. This is still football right? Not pillow fights?! If we lose because Dion said this...our team sucks and Luck is a joke for needing that motivation to succeed. I can assure you, neither are the answer you're looking for.
I would like the stat geeks to put their time to good use and do a study of wins and losses by the team that give bulletin board material to the other team Here is the quote. I mean this is borderline hate-speech: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...n-jordan-i-dont-plan-on-losing-to-andrew-luck
And I sir, have a problem with your knee jerk reaction of my knee jerk reaction! I am entitled to think that someone that doesnt even start should shut their trap! If I were Cam Wake I'd whap him on the back of the head. I like his confidence but he needs to keep it internal. Anyone remember Karlos Dansby's "confidence"? Or Vontae Davis' "Confidence"? Ya'll dumbies probably defended them too. At first I was just sparking a conversation, but you internet-warriors are making me play some serious devil's advocate here lol.
"Bulletin board material" is one of the most overrated things out there. As if Luck was only going to half *** it out there but now he's going to take Sunday's game seriously.... How dare an opponent have the intention of beating them? It's not as if he said, "Luck sucks and his mama's ugly!"
DA here... If I'm Luck, i'm going to look at those words and twist them to mean this. "I've always been better than Luck and I always will be" And then I plaster that on to my bulletin board.
Dion was very effective in his limited reps against the browns..very pleased after isolating his reps..He beat joe Thomas on wakes sack where Wake destroyed the running back trying to block him, if wake doesn't get there, Dion split joe Thomas and the guard comin in for the double team, he would of finished the QB.
I don't see it. Last year a man they cared about was fighting cancer. That produces intense and genuine emotion. Twisting some quote around in an attempt to make yourself feel disrespected does not.
When your protection plan is to have a RB block Wake you've failed miserably. I couldn't believe what I saw on that play and I know Wake must have felt like Christmas just came early when he saw that post snap.
Here are other things he said about Luck on the Finsiders: - Luck is a great QB - He's made a lot of plays, especially last year as a rookie - He does a good job of making people miss in the pocket - In college, hes already at the professional mindset - He controlled his team - His guys looked up to and followed him because he had that type of insight Yeah, Dion, you should stop with all that disrespect
This doesn't bother me at all. It wasn't disrespectful or classless and if Luck wasn't self-motivated then this statement isn't going to make a difference. And if he is already motivated it isn't going to make a difference.
I guess Luck won't pin that up on his bulletin board when he's manufacturing disrespect to motivate him at game time....
Make me sick to my stomach that's for sure, I've never been so frustrated from a QB than last year watching what he did to us..he was brilliant..
part of The luck package..he doesn't listen to this media crap, he's smart enough to know that Dion respects him.
I think it was 2 or 3 times they tried to use a RB on Wake. Ya I'm wondering what they were thinking there. There is a hiliarious quote from Wake on the miami website where he says he thinks all teams should implement RB trying to block him lol.
Welcome to the Miami Dolphins....where any display of confidence before you put on a gold jacket is brash trash talk.
This just in: Omar reporting that Jordan was overheard saying that he believes Luck's "father smelt of elderberries" and something about a hamster mother, and farting in his general direction. Philbin is losing control of the locker room. /s
1) I like CantinaJack, he made me laugh in abother thread this week. I forget how (alzheimers at an early age, I guess) 2) I see his point, though I don;t agree with him. In some places, like New England, you don't say anything at all that an opponent could use. 3) I think this is heavily mitigated by the fact that Dion faced Luck in collegee and Luck lost (more than once) 4) We complain about lack of national attention for this team. Well, this is part of why some teams are more talked about in the media. Their players express confrontational bravado by throwing down the gauntlet to hype a contest. Muhammad Ali practically mastered this and no one got more buzz of hype than him. It's actually a staple of fight promotion in boxing. From that standpoint, it helps. 5) Have we considered that this may be helping *Jordan* feel more motivated? If so, it's a good thing.
If Luck needs to make more of the statement than what's there to get himself motivated he ought to find himself another line of work. This really isn't bulletin board material. It doesn't intend to question a player's ability to perform his job.
Wow... Even if I did believe he was just running his mouth. You cannot just pawn off your opinion as a fact. And by the way... No one says "epic fail" anymore, do you still use "not" jokes as well? I apologize for starting a conversation... Sheesh...
