Keller is not some irreplaceable star player, and his injury will not sink the Dolphins. That being said, his injury was still significant and I really don't understand how anyone can argue otherwise. Keller was at the very least an above average TE. He looked to have good early chemistry with Tannehill. Now with him out the Dolphins don't have a TE who even appears to be average. Any time you have a starting position go from a good player to a sub par one, you have the right to be worried.

The Keller injury is a big deal because we have a bunch of nobodies behind him. If we had some decent backups I don't think this would be much of an issue. Shame what happened to him but I don't really understand why we didn't do more to address the position, TEs are critical in today's passing games we are going to be hurting if no one else steps up.

I like what I've seen from Sims, I just haven't seen as much as I'd like. And I put that on the coaches. I'm getting to the point where I'm comfortable calling the Clay experiment a failure. I know he reportedly looked good in practice all week, but I'm not one who puts much credence in those camp reports from our local media (positive or negative).

I don't think there is a coaching staff out there that doesn't make some head scratching moves when it comes to the depth chart. For instance, Miami is likely going to keep Brian Tyms and Marvin McNutt over Chad Bumphis at this point. Based on the results of the preseason and the practices, I just don't see how you do that unless you have a preference for a certain style receiver, which I think is the case here. Chad is pretty much a slot only guy at this point that doesn't have great size, and they want guys who can play all three receiver spots and guys that have size.

This is possible. But why even sign him as a UDFA then? Puzzling

I think Clay is very frustrating to us because he shows "flashes" to us and the coaches, enough to get us excited at times. but he's just too inconsistent. I do agree that I'd like to see the coaches give Sims more playing time. TE is a position where rookies can make some impact.

He needs to be able to face the QB, catch the ball within 10-15 yards and be able to turn upfield. He just seems to lose track of everything with anything over a shoulder. Very poor body control downfield.

Trying to figure out if this was posted after the Tampa Bay game or before.

From watching the Tampa Bay game again, Gibson is a lot better than I expected tbh, there is no way anyone on this roster is going to beat him out. He could become Tannehill's favourite target this year.
