Lackey, backing up the talk.. I never thought I would say this but where would the Sox be without Lackey this year, certainly not in 1st.
I went to the game yesterday and I haven't heard Fenway that loud when they were booing Arod since the 2007 World Series. And yeah kind of crazy how Lackey was in 2010 and 2011 and what he is now. I think looking back it was obvious he was hurt at least in 2011 and probably in 2010 too. But yeah, huge win yesterday as we got to pick up a game against TB. Hopefully the Sox take the series tonight and start to get a little win streak going.
Reading up on this Remy thing, what a piece of **** huh? Totally forgot he worked for Boston and got fired in the roid investigation....
Haven't read anything about the case or what happened. I kind of remember his son being a big time body builder and possibly a roid head, no?
By the way, small sample size alert, but Henry Owens has been insane in Double A so far: 3 starts, 15 innings pitched, 8 hits, 6 walks, 3 runs, 2 earned runs and 29 K's as a just turned 21 year old. If he stays healthy this kid could be really really good.
Roid head up, A-Rod-like the ******* assaulted her early last week, was arrested then was let out on personal recog, then goes and kills her....I hope he catches a stick up his bum, and his father doesn't deserve it either...I am willing to bet the Judge is a little unnerved by it...oh and he did it in front of the daughter too...
According to WEEI the Sox are calling up Xander Bogaerts! I freaking nailed that prediction. Very excited to see this kid play.
Same just traded for him. Gave up Heyward but got Yelich as well along with a 11th and 14th pick ( 9 keeper league) while giving up round 15 and 16... Think i did alright even with Heywards performance lately... Guy is just an injury a week type of player i lost patience with him.
It's the truth. Hell I bet Arod gets huge cheers from the Yankee crowd in tomorrow's game. If he K's in a big spot he'll get boo'ed. Fans are all about the moment. You think Brewer fans are going to boo Braun the first time he gets a game winning hit?
Wow nice call, I can't wait to see this kid, only seen a few highlights of him from youtube. To bad he couldn't play last night. That curveball Robertson through to Ellsbury was flithy.
I just figured it makes the most sense. Let the kid get his feet wet out on the West Coast on the road. Hopefully he gives the offense a spark and he actually gets an opportunity to win a job from either Drew or Middlebrooks.
Great start by Lester last night. He's actually pitched pretty well the past 6 out of 7 starts since he started to rely less on the cutter all the time. Hopefully it keeps up, if the Sox are going to do anything in the playoffs this year we need a good Lester and healthy Buchholz.
Lester was mad he had to come out, but you could see his good stuff was gone. He was great at attacking hitters last night I thought. Watching Papi play 1st is always fun, it always looks funny to me when he stretches for any out.
Yeah it was the right time to pull him. I'm just glad he was able to go very deep in the game and give the pen a rest.
Frustrating loss last night. The team has been frustrating the past 3 weeks, winning a game then losing, then winning. They haven't been able to get on any type of run. The positive for Bogaerts, even if he went 0-3, was that you can see his patience at the plate. He takes pitches, doesn't go up there hacking.
Made a sweet play in the field too that saved a run.....that played looked real close.....the one when Scuturo dove head first into first base....
Haha. At least he's out homering Adrian Gonzalez. Hell, I'd still take him back with open arms to the Sox.
Obviously I am joking, but he is having a disappointing year though....still so young....what I wouldn't give for a 24 year old 1st baseman....
Yeah, I'm sure the Cubs were expecting more from him this year as his slash stat line isn't great. Again he just turned 24 earlier this month, so it's still too early to write him off. He'll probably never be a .300 hitter but should hit 25 to 30 home runs a year once he hits his peak. And wouldn't the Yankees kill for a 24 year old starter at any position right now?
But hey, at least they signed him to an extension. I'm hearing good things about Peavy's competitiveness, have you been happy with his performance so far?
Still surprised the Yankees keep giving at bats to Stewart instead of seeing what they have in Romine.
Outside of his one start vs. KC when it was clear he didn't have his best stuff, Peavy has been pretty damn good for the Sox. Very happy with that trade so far.
I think right now they are one in the same....obviously Romine has more upside..... maybe it is a pitcher preference thing? I like the Stewart is gritty...
