The flip side to this is that no other team has a mis-matched uniform, so maybe the issue is with the material and color wrecking havoc with an HD image.

if you get the same exact color and one has a matte finish and the other has a gloss finish..they are mis-matched.

I refer you to the Eagles uniforms, and for that matter any of the other ones with a gloss finish on their numbers. It's a screw up. Unless Shadows first showed up on this earth when these uniforms made their debut in Jacksonville.

    No they're not.

If the point was to have the numbers shimmer in the light (to mimic water), then it is not a mismatch or a mistake and in fact is a success, because they are working as intended.

Again, look at that picture. Clay's numbers match exactly with the stripe. The reason? In that picture the numbers are facing the light source. Tannehill's are are not so they are shadowed.

You guys are being a little "running around loopy with arms akimbo" about this.

Jaysus, did you miss the Jags uni's? Looked like they were dumpster diving behind a goodwill store. Fugly beyond atrocious...

I am not a fan of the sheeny material used for the numbers either, but it the color chroma is by design.

First of all..forget still pictures. they do not matter. Nobody watches a game with still pics.

Watch the video. Then show me where the Dolphins intended for their uniforms to look mismatched due to lighting. or of course, prove to me that shadows first reared their ugly heads on Friday in Jacksonville.

Your HD/Photo delineation is pointless and only means something in your head.

The colors are what they are. How your media device displays them in the lighting and colors that surround the device in your personal space are unique to you and not the responsibility of anyone else.

You're in TV, you should know these things.

You're simply and flatly wrong about this and its getting silly.

I love a good Fin D/Section face off but I agree with Finny here. It's very common and just more noticeable with us because we have bright colors.

I already said earlier that they are the same color.

If they are the same color, then they are not mismatched.

If your argument is solely about the reflective quality of the material on the numbers and not the rest of the jersey, then its a weak argument because they intended for the colors to shimmer like water. And they do. Accomplishing that, while the numbers are still the same color is not a mismatch but a triumph, regardless of your personal TV's ability to display it properly.

great video, but it doesn't say that the number is supposed to do what it is doing.

they just talked about the concept.

The Jags new unis are as awful as any NFL uniform I've ever seen. Solid black with teal sleeves is a terrible combination. Why would a team playing in the deep south, outdoors, want any part of their uniform, jerseys or pants, to be black? Mark Brunell, who is real pro Jacksonville guy, seemed really reluctant to praise the new uniforms when the other dude asked him.

After seeing both combinations, I like our all whites combination a lot better than the aqua jersey with white pants.

They make the Steelers and Browns uni's look good. Dunno how that helmet design made it out of a 6 yo's coloring book.

Jacksonville is a Navy town. Maybe they let the Navy help design them... :shifty:

The original Jags uniforms weren't bad. The solid teal jerseys, the black helmet. I cannot see any earthly reason they would have ever changed to this current ugly crap they have now.
If I were their owner, they go back to just these simple, and original combinations.

I think the Browns uni's look good period, one of the classier in the league.

I agree. Maybe the logo could have used a tweak, but the unis were solid. They mixed in more black recently and I wasn't crazy about it. Black pants weren't bad, but I don't like all black. One note and boring

The Jags jerseys remind me of layers when we would play football in the park as kids.
Shirts over shirts.... Run down to that Dodge, make a move and go deep. The ball will be there.
Am I allowed to say we played smear the queer as well? :wink2:

    The Unis are cool.

Is the aqua a lot like Carolina Panthers light blue?

Kind of, I'd consider the Panthers' color to be more of a neon blue, but at this point it might just be semantics.

I'd consider the Dolphins' to be a little bit more mild than a neon color.

Not supposed to be. I think the material the numbers are made from are affecting the actual color...

    "Carolina Panthers Blue"
    "Miami Dolphins Aqua"
    "Miami Dolphins Aqua previously"

Seen under the stadium lighting, the new Aqua takes on more of light blue tint.

I think the Miami aqua has a little more green to it than the Carolina blue does. They are similar though.

i'm not a fan of having the logos on the sleeves, but that mockup with the stripes are no better. i'd rather just keep it as-is instead of going with something like that.

that's probably why i'm having trouble liking the aqua they decided to go with. it looks good sometimes, then other times not so much. like i said, they'll be wearing white most of the time, so i'm happy.

okay..spoke to somebody that would know.

it's a lighting and camera issue. The broadcast in a sense screwed with the colors.

The filters used for this past game allowed for the different contrasts, and it was mostly due to poor lighting. Saturday's game will be much different and the uniforms will look more like they are supposed to look.

    All is well.
