True, there could be 6 elite players at a position or just 3, it just depends on if they reach that level where one isn't necessarily better than the other, they just reach that level of play differently, but are able to accomplish the same result.
2014 will be the season to really judge Tannehill in my opinion. This year is another building block. I'm tired of tossing a QB out there and getting aggravated after 2 seasons. Good or bad, Philbin and Ireland are tied to him. The approach needs to be one of patience. It may take RT 2-3 years to get it. I'll take 2-3 years of him learning and getting better and becoming a solid QB over drafting another QB and starting from scratch again. This organization needs to do the right thing and let this develop. With that said, if he shows nothing by the end of 2014-2015 season, then it's time to worry.
Of all the first quarters I have watched so far this preseason Alex Smith was very sharp and looked to be dangerous leading Kansas City. Yes I did say that. Tannehill will have a big step this year to get into another level.
I hope so. One year with Archie would probably develop him faster than one year in the NFL under Sherman.
I like Tannehill, but he certainly has a lot to prove. Now he has a deep threat in Wallace and anpther pretty good receiver in Gibson, but that OL better gel in a hurry. Personally, I wish that we kept Jake Long, dude was solid as a rock when he was healthy- and yes, the injuries were a big concern. Tannehill has to improve drastically on his 3rd down efficiency and imo he has to show a better feel for the game- not staring down his receivers and in general just being more of an efficient play maker. He's big, fast smart and he has one heck of an arm. That's all good stuff, but at the end of the day he has to show that he is a clutch player with a feel for the position.
That's hilarious. Can we get some Eli highlights from his rookie season when he had 5 TDs-9 INTs, averaged 5.3 yards per pass and had a QBR of 55?
