    What up homeslices..

Game day at 730 tonite..while we wait I took a quick look at the browns today.

    Gotta go get some beers..

If it makes you feel any better, I just watched Jake long get absolutely manhandled on 3rd and 9, Desmond Bryant of the browns bull rushed him, jake with his little choppy steps lost his balance, and Bryant put him on his back and stepped on him on his his way to the Qb, lol..really a bad play for the tackle.

Gordon is playing in this game so it's probabaly opening things up for everyone but their skill players have all contributed and Weeden looks sharp early, were gonna have to keep tabs on Dion Lewis or he will make plays on us, no more letting jitterbug running backs kill us..This is why I like Dion Jordan on the field, sideline to sideline pursuit..Bess had his usual first down, Cameron had a big drop but then followed up with a 30 yard crossing route, good placement of the ball allowed the player to keep stride, Weedens like 8 of 10 for 100, they used Dion on a little out pattern to get the TD, so we need to spy that dude, I think allowing Dion to drop shallow in the middle of the field dropping and reading things might cause problems for an offense in those tight restricted areas.

Their defense is going to come at us, their making it known in preseason that's what their gonna do, our oline is gonna need to play well and were gonna need to move Ryan's pocket purposely early in the ballgame, and hopefully he will have better anticipation of a closing pocket by then and start making some individual plays..we're gonna need it..

Wow, Jake Long once again gets abused, got a great jake long jump on the snap, and still got bull rushed, lifted off his feet and thrown into the qb, what the heck is going on with that dude.

Stretch them early even if the passes are not completed..spread them out and go two minute on them..

No joke, Jake gets manhandled again, and thrown to the ground on a pass rush..

Then gets pushed back and down on a run block.

Travis Benjamin on a beautiful executed return, houses it from 91, good blocking..

All three phases looked good for the browns..

Got some chicken cutlets marinating in a freezer bag with some Meyer lemon juice, the zest of that beautiful lemon, 3 cloves of finely chopped garlic, kosher salt, fresh cracked pepper, extra virgin olive oil, chopped flat leaf parsley...done..

Gonna eat that with some fresh guacatomato..

One thing i want to see tonight is sharpness. I don't want to see stupid mistakes after a 2 minute warning, players not knowing assignments, etc. I also hope Ryan gets somewhere around 12 pass attempts tonight and that his accuracy is better.

Thanks for the browns analysis Deej...sounds like Long got it handed to him! Gonna go back and watch some of that game with my preseason pass!

Jake Long looked pretty poor last night, it bothers me how everyone keeps mentioning we lost him like he's one of the best players in the NFL, he hasn't been for a few years now. Weeden did look pretty solid last night, however he did get away with one lucky pass that ended up being a 15 yard or so completion that got tipped really high, I feel like more often than not the defense wins those.

Totally pumped as I am led to believe from this morning's Sun Sentinel that Wallace and Hartline should both play tonight. That is what I want to see, Tanny with all three of our first string WR's, and I hope the DL plays at least a full quarter, with Soliai, Odrick (in for Starks who's still injured), Wake, Vernon, Jordan, who did I leave out?

BTW OT but quote of the Summer: rookie Will Davis on his playing vs. Dallas; "I was so excited, my first ever NFL game and I got to play in it!" :sidelol:

    The Starters
    1. Ryan Tannehill has to come out swinging and clean up the things he didn't do well in the first showing
    2. Jonathan Martin can start showing the practice reports of his getting abused by Vernon and Jordan aren't worth a damn
    3. Olivier Vernon can start showing us it isn't that Martin is THAT bad, but rather Olivier is THAT good
    4. Mike Wallace...just catch some damn passes, man. The fans will **** over anything that isn't a goose-egg
    5. Josh Samuda has a chance to materialize a grip on the starting right guard position tonight

    The Backups
    1. Dion Jordan had a good start in the HOF game but you'd like to see him expand on it with more impact plays
    2. Chad Bumphis could be the team's best slot WR but he's going to have to string together multiple games to show it
    3. Is the Will Davis INT Machine really just a Will Davis HYPE Machine? Give us something to fap to
    4. Jonas Gray needs to win more style points because preseason production alone isn't going to cut it
    5. Sam Brenner may be an under the radar guy the coaches secretly like, and he'll have an opportunity to prove it

the zest of that beautiful lemon

-- Want to see a lot of Tannehill tonight (well, Sunday morning). Can't have another game like last week - 2 in a row would really suck.
-- Want to see Dion give it a go against Monroe and/or Joeckel, let's see what he has at this point. Vernon too.
-- Looking forward to Denard Robinson, but bummed Cyprien isn't playing.

I promise once it marinates for 6 hours, and that really finely crushed garlic and lemon penetrate that breast, I'm gonna throw a piece of French baguette on the grill to get some good crunch and color, put a little of my fresh tomato basil sauce, and have a simulated chicken parm..but it will be better.

Yeah, the match-ups in that Cleveland game really favor the defenses over the offenses, and even more so in a Game 1 where timing and cohesion are still being worked out. I imagine it will be low scoring (watch it become a shoot-out just because I said that... but I just can't see it). We'll see how that turnover thing is working for us, because that seems like a game that will hinge on who turns over the ball more, even with the teams likely playing it close to the vest. A few key first downs. A kicker missing/making a long kick. Those types of things will be big. It'd be nice to see Ryan Tannehill get off to a quick start, but that just seems like a game where our O-line is gonna have to get their feet under them and also get some help from the backs in pass-blocking. If he gets off the schneid quickly, that'd portend good things, but easier said than done. Let's face it, though, that one's also a game almost every Dolphins fan penciled in as a win if the team is going to make a strong playoff push. No game one is ever make-or-break, but this one on the road seems like it's a big one for the Dolphins, who want to have a lot of confidence and hope when they come back home (after that one & Indy). That's gonna be a real interesting game.

As for tonight, I just want to be excited. A "fast start" like Philbin is preaching would help. Keep the circling buzzards off Tannehill for a week. A Mike Wallace sighting! That'd be nice. More Dion Jordan being everywhere. Forcing a turnover somewhere. Or two. Or three. And a preseason win for a change... when was the last one? Yeah, they don't matter, but it kinda stinks losing every.single.preaseason.game. Wins are always exciting, and like I said, I want to be excited after this one.

I'd just like to see an improvement from last week. Less turnovers on offense, maybe one or two on defense, and see Tannehill at least get a drive or two together. Ultimately, I don't care whether we win or not, I just want to see progress.

yeah he threw that ball way to hard, but as a receiver those are the crucial times to catch the ball with your body instead of your hands.

BTW, loving the cooking sidenotes DJ... just to keep things tasty. I've become interested in cooking the last couple of years (started with bbq-ing and it's still mostly on the bbq)... but tried making au gratin potatoes last week. Tough one. Even though I used the easy method (95% of the work done in the oven baking, only 5% of the work in the saucepan making the cheesy sauce), it wasn't as easy as it sounded. back to the bbq shortly and my grilled caramelized onions!!

It's really odd, I've seen Tackles slow down with age, rarely have I seen a tackle lose their core strength to handle a run of the mill bullrush like that one.

He's pretty much being manhandled, Ireland may have gotten lucky in not signing him to that huge contract.
