Kind of hard to believe there isn't some clause in a contract that allows the Pats to reclaim money if a player is actually sent to prison.

If you're paying attention, you can see the moment he dies a little on the inside.

Why is it that the NFL has more criminals than any other league?

From a PR standpoint? Absolutely. They would have been shredded in the media otherwise.

First Welker, now Hernandez, no telling when Gronk will play again. I'd say nobody has a tighter *** than Tom Brady right now.

Ray Finkle didn't even make it to murder.

I mean, they can't prove he killed Einhorn.

According to Deadspin, Aaron Hernandez is being accused of "Orchestrating the Execution." The prosecution clearly has their ducks in a row. The title is interesting to me though. That's a lot of evidence that Hernandez had something to do with this, to be sure. A lot of circumstantial evidence. That said, I'm of the believe that if they don't find something that can directly tie Hernandez to the murder, then I don't see how he can be convicted of first degree murder. Conspiracy to commit, sure. Unless they've got several of his friends to roll over and have agreed to testify against him.

LOL. where he's headed he'll be dying a little on the inside every night.
No matter where he goes he's screwed. In a Massachusetts prison he'll receive the angry rape by disgruntled Patriots fans-- "IF. WE. DONT. WIN. THE. A.F.C. EAST. ITS. ALL. YOUR. FAULT!" {You know what the periods represent. lol}. In a nearby NY prison he'll be raped by Jets fans b/c that's just what they like to do.

What was interesting was that the DA talked about what was discussed in the car, about Hernandez not trusting the victim. Not sure how they could know that without someone rolling over.

The question I have now is selfish but relevant: if he turns out to be proven Not Guilty, could we pick him up on the open market since the Pats released him? He is (was?) a heckuva TE.

You still don't know who fired that guy, if he was with several other people. Unless his fingerprints are on the casing. Even then, given this is going to be a circus trial, it's iffy.

Circumstantial evidence is still evidence. They have video of him walking around his house with a .45 immediately after the shooting. You can convict without the actual murder weapon.

They can place Hernandez in the car, at the crime scene, and then a short time later getting out of the car at his house with a gun in his hands. A gun they can no longer find I am sure, because just like how he destroyed his own cell phone and his own surveillance system and then told his fiancee not to talk to police, he decided to obstruct justice and destroy evidence in a murder investigation.

I suppose he could claim that his buddies committed the murder with the gun and then he drove them back to their place and they left the gun with him and he got rid of it. But that's going to sound way too thin if both other guys corroborate and roll over on him, especially in light of the fact that it was Hernandez that orchestrated the entire evening from getting his buddies together in his car to getting Odin Lloyd to agree to meeting with them, etc. Everything to that point was done at Hernandez' direction and then he's going to claim suddenly nothing was happening at his direction, and then we were back to everything happening at his direction again as he was back in charge of destroying all the evidence (which he did a piss poor job at).

And meanwhile when Odin Lloyd is sending texts to his sister to let her know where he is and who he's with, clearly scared that something could happen to him (ALERT: DON'T GET IN THE ****ING CAR THEN!), it wasn't these mysterious buddies that he named to his sister. It was, "NFL".

He's toast. This isn't just circumstantial evidence.

I don't think he's going to point to anyone. He's just going to keep quiet. His lawyer will try and make the evidence look non-credible, and muddy everything up. I am guessing that Hernandez will not testify.

It's too late. They've already turned. Listen to the details the prosecution outlined about Hernandez being unhappy with Lloyd having talked to some people that he "had troubles with". Listen to the exact details about Lloyd being shot three times while trying to escape and run away from the car, and then Hernandez getting out and standing over Lloyd and putting two more in his chest as Lloyd raised his arm.

If at least one of those other guys hasn't yet rolled on Hernandez, then they have surveillance footage of the ACTUAL murder...which is even worse.
