Well deserved, he's probably the Sox 3B of the future or Bogaerts. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ranaudo and/or Britton promoted to Triple A soon either, only problem is the Triple A rotation is a bit full already with Allen Webster, RDLR, Aceves, and Brandon Workman.

Yup absolutely. This might be the best the Sox farm system has been in a long time, or at least for the past 7 to 8 years when Hanley, Pedroia, Ellsbury, Buchholz, Lester, Papelbon, Anibal Sanchez, Reddick, Masterson, Lowrie and Bard were there.

I don't think he's hurt, I think it was a mixture of pitchers just figured out how to get him out since he doesn't have a lot of patience at the plate and Iglesias just being awesome right now. He needs regular at bats so it made no sense to keep him on the bench right now.

I was just about to post the same thing. His approach is awful. It's no secret how to get him out.

Yup he chases soft off speed stuff low and away all day. It's too bad because he has power and a good glove so he'd definitely be a useful everyday player but hey baseball is hard.

Iglesais is on fire right now. I am not getting to see most of his AB's, what has turned it around besides finally roping balls to the outfield.

His approach. He's not going up there hacking at everything, he's much more balanced, squaring up balls and he's staying back on off speed stuff. Actually his problem was pretty much Middlebrooks' right now.

I think I read a stat saying even if he goes 0 for his next 52 or so he'll still have a .300 average. Obviously he's not going to hit .400 or have a .400 OBP but if he can even manage to hit .250 with a .330 OBP he would absolutely be able to be an everyday SS for the Sox moving forward. This could be a fluke (obviously most of it is) and he could be the player he was in the past but I'm just enjoying the ride right now.

By the way as a 20 year old in Triple A, Xander Bogaerts now has 4 HRs in 12 games.

Hmmm, fantasy relevant questioned. When do you see him being brought up?

Most likely next year sometime but all depends on need really. I'd be surprised if he was up this year to be honest with you and if he is it will probably be for a cup of coffee in September and no real regular playing time. The Sox don't like to put guys on the 40 man roster unless they have to and they have a couple of guys that will be subject to the Rule 5 draft next year that they need to clear space for.

Yeah unless you're in a non keeper league I don't think he'll have any fantasy value this year. Next year though, assuming he stays healthy and continues to produce, I could definitely see him playing either SS or 3B regularly for the majority of the season.

I do think you have to be concerned about Buchholz moving forward. This will mark what the 4th straight year where he's unable to make 30 plus starts due to injury/DL trips. Don't get me wrong, when he's healthy he's a damn good pitcher but he's not a workhorse who you can count on for 35 starts and over 200 innings. It's a bit frustrating really.

Anthony Ranaudo (U.S.) and Xander Bogaerts (World) will be in the Futures Game. Garin Cecchini might be there for the U.S. too if he wins the new "Finalist" vote.

I'm sure the final vote for the US team will be between Cecchini and Austin. Although Castenallos is the big name player there.

Everytime I read posts like this I'm not sure if I'm awake or asleep or if I traveled back in time. Either way I'm enjoying the "New Slim Fit Robotic Arm John Lackey Red Sox Era" so far.

He is wearing and Angels uniform in everyone of my dreams when he pitched like that. That being said, man was he working Rockies over, up, down, he was making bats miss.

Not unless there is an injury to an OFer. Ellsbury, Victorino and Nava are all playing very well. JBJ needs the at bats/regular playing time which he won't get in Boston right now.

Xander Bogaerts played 3rd base for the first time last night, perhaps the Sox are seeing if he can be an option there later in the year.

I mean as much as I like the guy, what are the chances he can hit at the MLB level now. I wouldn't rush him, but maybe he can't be held back.

Yeah Saturday night's game was tough. I absolutely can't stand losing a game when you're up multiple runs in the 9th inning, there's really no excuse for it. I've been dreading this 10 game west coast trip for awhile now.

I honestly don't know. Through 23 games he's hitting .262/.361/.440/.801 with 5 HRs as a 20 year old. Usually the Sox like to see their prospects spend at least a half year at each league before a promotion. I guess with Bogaerts the numbers aren't as important as the approach is.

Speaking of players playing out of their mind Garin Cecchini's Double A stats right now are: 15 games, 1 HR, .418/.522/.600/1.122 as a 22 year old so he's probably around league average in age there. His full year stats so far in high A and double A: 78 games, 6 HR, .364/.480/.558/1.038. If he keeps this up he might be up with the Sox sometime next year.

Also Drake Britton was promoted to Triple A a few days ago and with Andrew Miller on the DL he might be a LHP replacement for him in a few weeks.
