http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/14698/dan-crawford-the-heat-and-the-1-9-percent This article was pre Game 6 against Boston last year.
We weren't winning that one no matter what. For the regular season 19-4 (.826) isn't far from our percentage for the season (.805) although for the playoffs that's a good clip.
In 1519, Conquistador Hernando Cortez landed on the shores of Mexico in the Yucatan to conquer the Aztec Empire and all it's riches, He brought with him, 600 men on 11 ships, and upon their landing, gave one simple order, Burn the Ships. After hearing this order, some of his men questioned it and asked for an explanation. Cortez simply stated, we will return to our homeland in THEIR ships, as failure is not an option, You either fight and win, or you DIE. With this, his men were now properly motivated to succeed. In short, this has been Pat Riley's philosophy in a all or nothing situation such as a Game 7....You bring everything. You use a sledgehammer to kill an ant. You bring a atom bomb to a knife fight. Win every god damn possession. When they take a crap tomorrow morning, You have to be there to wipe their ***. The Goal is simple. Win by over 100 points. Hold them to zero percent shooting. Force over 60 turnovers. Send Tim Duncan into retirement. Hold up the trophy. Very simple...TONIGHT...WE BURN OUR MOTHER****ING BOATS!
I'm a superstitious man. I fasted yesterday in honor of Dwyane Wade's sacrifice. Today I honor Jesus Shuttlesworth by watching He Got Game. Tonight when I get home I'll honor Lebron James. I'll leave the details out. But given the choice, I won't choose "walk".
Butterflies already going in my belly and this game is 7 1/2 hours away. Feel like cutting out of work 'cause my focus isn't here today.
Thank god I'm not a baseball fan. If the Rays ever went to the World Series I'd have to sacrifice a live chickem Pedro Cerrano style. Although technically they settled for a bucket of KFC. Maybe I could get away with that instead.
So last year we had the Chris Bosh Champagne Bukkake. I'm really curious how he's going to top himself this year in purely uncomfortable awkwardness during celebration. I'm thinking maybe he starts stroking the base of the NBA Championship trophy, then maybe spits on the top of it, rubs it some more and hugs it to his face.
Imagine if a constant champagne bukkake basically was Chris Bosh's harlem shake move. Room lights back up, everyone's dancing, Chris Bosh is getting yogurt slinged on him by five dudes.
Fresh case of champagne just arrived at my house. Table at my nightclub of choice reserved. Lets rock and roll.
Where can I listen to the heat broadcast at? Are the on tunein radio or do I need to go to a website?
I'll be really, really upset if we don't win tonight. That being said, what an awesome season. it has been a treat watching Bosh, James, Wade, Allen, BIRDMAN BIRDMAN & co play at such a high level this year. This team's ability to score and play defense at a high level is a treat watching, not to mention what a team game they play (Heat even set a franchise record for most 3s made). Honestly I can't remember when I ever expected a team to be able to go out there and win night in and night out. Love Spo and the collection of coaches on the bench (including Juwan). Love Pat and Mickey for putting together an incredible team. It is going to really, really suck until football & basketball start up again for me as a Miami sports fan. Damn, I just really love this team and this sport. Tonight will be one to remember for sure.
I'm hella excited/nervous for this game but I would be 10x more if it were the Dolphins. I've never seen them in a Superbowl and that's one game, waiting 2 weeks. I couldn't even imagine.
Can't do TuneIn Radio. 790 can't stream the radio team over the Internet due to NBA rules. I think you can listen via the ESPN Radio app, but I don't know if that's ESPN's team or if you can pick the Heat team.
