http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap1000000213453/mindblowing-stats-for-the-miami-dolphins Pretty cool stuff. But this one here ^ makes so scared yet unbelievably excited.
This is still very impressive and an underrated point from the '72 perfect season: I think people don't see the Dolphins as dominant as they were. But, on both sides of the ball, the Dolphins dominated their opponents.
I wonder if they have to write that because Norton was drafted in the first round of the AFL Draft and not the NFL Draft, where he was drafted in the 2nd round by the Browns. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/N/NortRi00.htm
I don't see why. Norton was still a 1st rounder in the draft that the Dolphins were a part of. I'd venture to guess that he was such a reach and such a flop that he was long ago forgotten by anyone but Dolphins fans.
I only wrote that phrase out of frustration that I couldn't find the other part of the article, not to diss the old 72 team
My thought that was it could be the NFL's policy not to acknowledge the AFL Draft as it happened before the merger; just a thought.
