I don't hate him - but it's somewhat surprising to me that Duncan doesn't catch more flak for having one of the most annoying and over-used exasperated looks when he gets called for a foul.
I think I was more comfortable with the potential outcome of Game 4 after seeing the line at Even, than Game 6 after seeing the line at Heat -6.5. Just when Vegas catches up with this ridiculous tendency of the Heat's to blow out their next opponent after a loss...that's when the unspeakable will happen.
In all fairness the line for both home games last week was 7 1/2 so this has more to do with the shift in environment than the pattern. But I have been worried about the switch failing them when they go to flip it
Heat lose tonight. If the message being spoken is that ridiculous "if you told us we would have to win 2 home games for a title...we would take it" that screams panic. Spurs 98 Heat 94. Sorry guy's just being honestm Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Heat ROLL tonight...... Fin-O stop smoking that goooooood.....you honestly think it is ending tonight?? Also why are the Clips trying to become Boston Celtics West......????
I agree with this. I have 0% hatred for the Spurs. Now if this were the Pacers up on us I would eat my own liver if we lost.
Is that the NBA's pitch? "Hey guys, you get the privilege of broadcasting the Spurs dynasty for the next 5 years". Not buying it.
Dynasties also don't go years without making even a Finals appearance. Only hope for the NBA is the Heat dynasty. Otherwise they are stuck with a bunch of good teams with a bunch of different champions.
As for dynasties - we're going to disagree - I really don't see the Heat staying together past next year. Or if they do not being good enough to get through the Pacers / Bulls teams that are up and coming.
I'm not necessarily saying it will happen. Certainly nothing is guaranteed. But it is in the NBA's best interest. I also don't buy them not staying together if they win this year and next. Theres no reason for them to break up after 3 titles. They will be a cash cow. Great players will take less to come play for Miami.
This is all going to come down to how we think Wade is going to age, and I'm sure we'll disagree there. I don't think he ages well, and I don't think LeBron saddle himself to a declining Wade and a good, not great Bosh for another deal. I could be wrong. Riley could have a trick up his sleeve. Anything could happen. I'm not claiming I can see the future, that's just my prediction.
I don't disagree. But all these guys will take less money to stay with the Heat so they can bring in more talent.
Or even when they do flip the switch, Danny Green, Gary Neal and Kawhi Leonard unleash a torrent of threes regardless. Sometimes, you need those sumbytches to just miss. You know, at a normal rate. They're not. Danny Green is in the middle of quite possibly the best 3 point shooting exhibition in NBA playoff history, at 25 of 38 (65.8%). But Gary Neal is also 12 of 24 which is normally good if you don't happen to be shooting next to Solid Snake. Kawhi Leonard struggled behind the arc in the first game (0 of 4) but in the other four games he's 6 of 12, so for 80% of this series he's been another top level sniper. And the spots that they're making them from (Green and Neal) is more impressive than the numbers themselves. Early in the shot clock, way behind the arc, contested shots, during heavy Spurs runs, etc. The thing that scares me is that even if the Heat unleash hell, one run could blow up the effort and then you're in a storm of sh-t. What a series.
I know. I just keep hoping the odds decide to even out and they have a night that is a brickfest. Wouldn't want to bet on that though. Think about this. If those three miss their next 29 shots in a row they would STILL be shooting over 40%
Perhaps the scariest thing about it is that despite Green's ludicrous results, when you factor in Ginobili's 4 of 20, Parker's 1 of 4, Bonner's 1 of 4, Leonard's 6 of 16, Diaw's 1 of 2 and Joseph's 0 of 1...they're only 50 of 109 (45.9%) which is really good over a 5 game stretch, but it is within the realm of statistical possibility for a 7 game series. I'm not quite up on my statistics anymore but I would think that continuing to shoot at this rate for 7 games (which would result in a 70 of 153 series) would not even necessarily be statistically significant enough to reject the null hypothesis that the sample is a random sampling of their 154 of 400 regular season 3 point shooting results...depending on your standards. It would be significant enough at p<0.05 but not p<0.02 or p<0.01. So you might not see any reversion to the mean before the series is over. That's scary. The Heat are just going to have to earn it.
I heard Crawford. Honestly with his history with Tim Duncan that isn't terrible, unless he gives them pity calls to repair his image All I know is we need the flying death machine in full force.
On the three by Leonard I watched Miller just wander away from him and the whole time I kept thinking. You know he's going to get a corner three right?
Dunk should have been an offensive foul. He used his arm to push Miller back. Oh but the Spurs don't foul, even when they do blatant things.
