This does sound like an intresting premise. But would it be just another post-apocalyptic zombie game?
This looks like "I Am Legend"
Yeah, Naughty Dog can just automatically take 65 out of my bank account whenever they release a game.
Ya i agree, I have alot of respect for Naughty Dog team. I couldn't care less about most zombie games as its the new fad and tbh most are not worth the money, but I have faith that naughty dog will do the genre the justice it deserves.
Game Informer had a detailed article about this game a few months ago. Apparently it's not really a zombie game. A pandemic has wiped out much of the populace and the majority of your interactions will be with people who have become savage after resettling of the population. I guess kind of like a Book of Eli type of thing.
I believe it, but it's still advertising a game using nothing but a cut scene which to me is like using a movie trailer to advertise a game. I know most games are guilty of it, but still drives me nuts. Is it that hard for a company to just show me some gameplay to sell me a game? I have to drag my lazy *** over to YouTube for that.
what's the scheduled release on this one? Not that I need more games in my library at the moment... but damn if this doesn't look amazing!
I was already to spew my usual beef about cuts scenes and movie trailers to advertise video games but it's actual gameplay! Looks interesting...
got it the day it came out... I'm about 6 hours in, it says 42% done... which is interesting because I played last night for a good 2 hours and the last save prior to yesterday said I was 33% done... you do the math.. anyway.. yeah as desides says... it's good. I mean the graphics alone, it's worth it. The playability is a bit awkward though. It's not a 10 out of 10, but it's damn close.
I think the game is at its best when it's not trying to be a game. As for the graphics, there are moments when the lack of antialiasing and the depth of field conspire together to make the game look like a PS2 game… but then there are moments when the game looks next-gen, like the cutscene where Joel is driving a car through the rain and we see him through the windshield. Overall it's a nice bridge between the current generation and the next generation. Lastly, I think all the discussion over Bioshock Infinite's ending should have been reserved and applied to this game instead. There's far more to talk about here.
Argh. I wanted this. Just can't rationalize it with the impulse PS4 that's on it's way I'll have to wait for the price to tank
Yea, I just bought this over the weekend from Newegg (through eBay) for $45. Supposed to get here tonorrow, can't wait. Though it will put my espionage action on hiatus.
You didn't hear? PS4 is not backwards compatible. That's the whole point of the Gaikai cloud streaming stuff; they're going to load up PS3 games on a server and stream them to you. I'll sell you my copy for $40 plus shipping...
For the $399 price point this is acceptable. I'm curious as to the cost of steaming. Will there be a discount for games bough on PSN? We'll see
