E3 starts tomorrow. Might as well have a thread for it. June 10's press conference schedule, per IGN, which will be streaming them live: Nintendo Direct is Tuesday at 7 AM PST. Looking forward to Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV, seeing the PS4, whatever Nintendo has up their sleeve, and whatever surprises are in store—though there are rarely any true surprises these days (like Watch Dogs was). Half-Life 3? Please, Gabe. The games I really want sequels to haven't gotten them in years, decades in some instances. I'm a jinx.
I'm curious to see if Remedy's new game is coming out within the first year. They are notoriously slow. Loved Alan Wake though despite the low sales. I'm a big TV watcher so I'm intrigued when a company tries to merge the 2. I'm more curious though as to whether either console will have that 'must' exclusive for launch that both failed at last time. No big exclusive = sit and wait till they do.
It's still in development. At this point I wonder if they haven't ported it to the PS4 and renamed it to Final Fantasy XV.
I may be able to catch some updates of the MS conference at my lunch break, but I'll probably have to just watch it before Sony's show. Of course that's only if the updates make it look interesting. I'm ready, wow me Sony or MS.
I'm ready to be wowed but I doubt it'll happen. Instant wow would be Suikoden VI or Breath of Fire VI, or a new Dragon Quest game.
Killer Instinct.......oh my there's a blast from the past. Too many quarters in high school spent there ;p
Definitely want to see more Quantum Break. Looks trippy. And as I say that...D4 looks even more f'd up right after that ;p
Heh...sound issues on Crimson Dragon trailer there ;p Hmmm Dead Rising 3.......still not seeing a "Must Have Now" game for launch though. Edit: Ok Dead Rising 3 looks REALLY good...got to admit.
I could have swore when they did the mini talk about the new 360 games that they mentioned a new final fantasy, I couldn't rewind to double check though.
Anyone catch the prices? My feed decided to act up then. Edit: Argh....up too late. Got to sleep for night shift.
Expecting a flood of four ninety nine US dollars memes. Like I said guys, Microsoft is not making a gaming device. They're making a post-PC device that plays games. This price is in line with that. They want you to treat the device like an iPad that hooks up to a TV.
And thats the problem, we already have devices that do these things, the ipad for example, I think they are banking too much on the past and the idea of the set top do all box and not looking toward the future were are moving away from that. Plus theres the problem of getting the public to not view it as a game machine, we'll see if they can do it but I have my doubts.
A different perspective on the price. Forbes says the price is so high because its geared to hardcore gamers and that casuals will wait until the price goes down. http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2013/06/10/499-is-a-dangerous-price-for-microsofts-xbox-one/?partner=yahootix
Awful logic. Hardcore gamers don't appreciate being price bilked. Early adopters of PC equipment are a little different, but most still prefer to wait for cheaper and improved products a month or two after launch. How many hardcore gamers paid $500 for a PS3? The hardcore gamers were the ones making the FOUR NINETY NINE NINETY NINE US DOLLARS memes. The casual gamers were picking up cheap PS2s.
They should ask Sony who well the hardcore supported them on the big price point, the ps3 was almost DOA due to price. Took years for sony to make up ground.
MGSV looks absolutely phenomenal. EA's conference is at 4PM EST. I am intrested to see if they will show Mass Effect 4.
Also MS better convert my points to actual currency on the new system like they are transferring gold membership. If they don't, it's another notch against them for me.
At $500 (assuming the ps4 comes at that price too), i'm likely to only get one anywhere near launch. I'm going to pick the one that differs the most from the games I can play on my PC already, and based on what I have read about so far, MS hasn't shown me enough.

That seems like the biggest jump forward since the first Metal Gear Solid (not to say this looks as big a jump as the first MGS was over the Metal Gear games). I'm probably alone in this, but I wish the stories for these were less...Japanese.
The Battlefield 4 demo was excellent. It looks like they've addressed a lot of the limitations of BF3; they've brought the commander back and they've got wildly destructible environments. Haven't seen anything about class changes, though. BF3's assault class is overpowered and the recon is useless. Saints Row 4 is looking good, too. A superpowered gangsta president with Keith David as his vice president? Yeah, I'll take that. As for MGS5… it reminds me of MGS3 a lot. I'm hoping for a PC version, though I know it'll never happen.
Anxious for any kind of news from Square-Enix and what they plan on doing with the PS4. I'm also frothing for any information on A Realm Reborn, which might ruin my life when it comes out.
They've only shown some Lightning Returns trailers. Wait for the Sony presser; they'll probably be there.
