[h=3]Young Dolphins safety has caught the attention of coaching staff. http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/article-1/McCray-Looking-To-Make-A-Name-For-Himself/851442f5-a4d0-4000-8523-3aa437f7f6d9[/h] In these slow news times.... here's a player not on the radar that should be now. It's Jimmy Wilson and Kelcie McCray behind Jones and Clemons at this point. I like Jimmy at Safety in certain roles. Still it seems opinions on Clemons are mixed. Could we see Richard Marshall moved to safety ? There is some uncertainty here, and having McCray make for good competition will be important.
There was some talk about McCray until he got hurt last year. That's when the talk went towards Jimmy Wilson. There even have been some folks on the board that have a lot of hope for him. I think the job is Clemons to lose to one of the younger guys, not because he's ideal, but he's the best we've seen in the last year or so.... Clemons did look better to me at times, but he's somewhat inconsistent. Wilson started off like he was going to make some noise, then the real bullets flew and he was a bit quiet... As to Marshall, unless Taylor takes the bull by the horns and forces his way into the CB rotation, I can't see how we can afford to move Marshal. Even then, Taylor, Patterson, Stanford, Carroll, Davis are what's left after Grimes and Marshall. Not exactly awe inspiring until we see what the young guys can do with pads on... At any rate, I would think that a move from CB to S would have already started if that were their intentions...
one thing is for sure .... this is his year to prove it .... knowing that Clemons is on a 1 year contract .... would have to believe he is the reason Clemons is on a 1 year - based on the 'hope' he showed the staff. regardless, Clemons has played pretty well - and I don't see McCray winning that spot or taking over for him during the season, unless injury forces it. Wilson is a backup at best.
