Baffling how you can create only 12 turnovers against the worst ball-handling team in the league and somehow it's the refs fault you lose. The Heats perimeter defense was awful. Own up to what happens for Christ sake.

Stop looking at the hand that the idiotic announcers were talking about. Its fairly obvious the ball glances off of his pant leg. Also the call on the floor was Heat ball. It doesn't matter if it is obvious one way or another, if there is any doubt at all the call stands like in the NFL.

Shot clock thing was awful. There were bad calls against the Pacers.

The thing is that calling all those fouls slows the tempo and makes it into a free throw battle for the most part. Both of those things can ONLY favor Indiana who needs free offense and hinders us as a team who uses DEFENSE to fuel their offense against teams like Indiana.

Pffffft....do you know how many times Dwight Howard has been called a foul in that exact same manner (going straight up, hands never coming down or towards the opponent). This is nothing new and nothing really to pitch a fit over.

There is no way anyone could convince me that Lebron wasn't moving. Look how far apart his feet are in that 2nd photo. NO ONE sets a screen with their feet that wide apart

Have you ever watched Kevin Garnett play? There are a lot of players that set screens much worse.

If this were a reality why would the NBA allow any team to sweep a series, especially when you get down to the final 4. You would assume the Western Conference Finals would be still going if this were true. Especially since there is about 3 days in between games now.

Right, the point is that everyone would foul out if they called the games like that.

And if they called every travel, every carry, every illegal screen the game would really be brutal to watch. It doesn't mean your precious star players are exempt from being called for the violations occasionally.

Well when are those occasions??? With 60 seconds left in an ECF game???

"Precious" is also selling LeBron short too. Godly would be my preferred adjective in this context.

    Off Rebounds are accounted for.

Paint attacks are constituted as live dribbles or passes into the paint.

You can get these numbers by charting the games with synergy, or you can have a contact with the Heat that gives you game charts.

    THINK.

Did you see those SPurs/Grizz games?

Hint....those two overtime games......Grizz didn't necessarily do anything spectacular to force them. Sometimes teams can't win with a boost.

You know what else NO ONE does? make that call.

Lebron got called for 4 fouls in the 4th, 3 of which were arguable. all came after the Heat drew even. I am sure it was a coincidence.

BTW, Lebron James will NEVER be Michael Jordan. Jordan would NEVER be hit with 4 fouls in the final 7 minutes once his team drew close.

and yeah..Jordan won games where his team was outplayed.

The play by play reads rather funny By the way.

The Heat is ROLLIN'....score draws close...closer...tied.....BOOM..whistle whistle whistle....and Lebron...fouls out. That Three Bron hit must have really scared the crap out of Rodney Mott.

Gotcha. So basically Lebron should be able to do anything he damn well pleases near the end of the 4th quarter, whether legal or not.

    The premise is still flawed.

The NBA is rigging games to maximize TV ratings / revenue and somehow this is going to hurt the Heat?

If you believe the NBA is rigging games for TV ratings the only logical next step is to believe they will rig it for the Heat (largest market, biggest stars) to win.

    So why the uproar?

Also - I would imagine having Roy Hibbert would limit the number of fouls per drive. His job is to be tall and alter shots, negating the need to foul.

Meanwhile, the Heat play small ball and don't have the guys underneath that are able to block / alter shots as easily. So they are forced to foul more often.

I just hate the idea that one specific stat can be all encompassing for every team's style.

I'm not defending the Heat because some of the guys on here are going over the top as far as claiming the officials were out to get them in Game 4.. BUT. Roy Hibbert gets away with more fouls than anyone in the league.

That was going to be my point. How does a big man like Hibbert play 40 minutes and only get called for one foul? Pretty ridiculous.

This is very true, the officiating issue needs addressed no question. I mean how the hell does 3 officials miss the ball CLEARLY hitting the rim?? That's just irresponsible.

Yessir, and it is nothing new, which is a pity as I'd prefer a sort of let them play approach.

However, since they are taking the WWE route my interest will remain mild.

And they should be thanked for ruining NCAA BBall..good job fellas.

Exactly. Point remains. I have never seen such a suspicious set of calls on one man. And the man it happened too is what made it interesting.

David West given Flagrant 1 for hitting Wade in the head.

West, Stephenson and LBJ each fined 5 grand for flopping.

The missed Flagrant foul on West was a huge play.

It came with 5:56 left, the Heat leading 85-83 after the Wade basket was counted due to goaltending. Wade made the free throw to make it 86-83 Heat.

If the flagrant is called, the Wade basket counts, he gets two free throws, plus the ball. Heat could have had a 6 point lead which probably would have been enough to hang on, even with everything else that happened.

Chris Broussard on SportsCenter ****ting all over Bosh(no mention of the touch fouls) and saying that there is "speculation" that he could be traded.
So he is full of **** as always.

Has the guy broken a story since 2010? I unfollowed him on Twitter since he rarely has any actual NBA news or insights and just spouts of about his religious organization or movement or whatever it is.

And who is speculating that Bosh could be traded? Him? And why would there be that speculation now? Just stupid.

On the flopping, did anybody care about this before Jeff Van Gundy brought it up during games two years ago? If it was a big deal, I certainly missed it.

Just another example of making something that is either not a problem at all or a small problem and turining it into a huge issue such that no game can be watched now without the announcers deciding that every foul is a flop. It's ridiculous.

News flash to the flop police; the vast majority of "flops" are actual fouls. Whether the player who gets fouled tries to make sure the official sees it or not is not the point. A foul is a foul. What the anti-floppers don't want is for fouls to be called, and maybe they have a point. But for the likes of Steve Kerr to suggest that because LeBron is bigger than George Hill, that he can never be fouled by Hill and that every instance is a flop is ridiculous.

Exaggerating any type of contact just makes the refs job that much harder. There are plenty of instances where players flop and there was no foul.

And without further adieu, Danny Crawford is the lead official tonight

As of last season, Heat was 13-3 in playoff games referreed by Dan crawford and he was the ref for Game 6 in Boston last year (though LeBron would have won us that game even if Steve Javie was the ref)

    http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/14698/dan-crawford-the-heat-and-the-1-9-percent

Put it this way, while there is no guarantee, and the EHat obviously need to play well to win, I am confident that roy Hibbert is much more likely to foul out tonight than LeBron James

Pacers pretty much played a perfect game, while Heat played poorly, and they barely won. Hard to see them winning tonight regardless of who is officiating.

Exactly. Heat shot 39%, were out rebounded out of the building, in foul trouble, outscored in the paint....and were still leading late in the 4th lol

the heat even have a "good" game...they win tonight by 6+
