The orange really offsets it in that picture. Which is funny because that appears be the old orange (old shorts with old logo).

I can't understand how Miami managed to drag this out as long as it did, hype it up as long as it did, yet most sports apparel places still don't have any of the new gear in stock. Is like they forgot to order actual clothes or something.

Fairly annoying for someone who is willing to part with money for the right hat, shirt, etc. but doesn't want to shop online.

I don't think the Dolphins do all that much when it comes to merchandise. I think the various apparel places put out what they put out and go through the NFL front office. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm Stephanie.

Were probably trying to keep it as secret as possible so they didn't get it out to the vendors until as late as possible. And then when they finally did get it out...well...we saw what happened, it was instantly leaked. Of course, I don't know how long it takes to from the design distribution until an item hits the streets.

except a lot of the online stuff is sold out and/or in limited quantity as well. I am stunned at both not having jack **** to offer. Well, my wife is happy though because I would have spent a **** load of money on stuff and instead money is actually being spent on frivolous necessities.

Wish they had matched the orange in the gloves and shoes to the Dolphins official orange. The gloves and shoes are too red.

That's all cool and everything. I love the new Colors. I love the new direction of the Team. I am NOT a Hater I swear. I just think Football , NFL football teams in particular , need an attitude. This is an extremely violent contact sport. I think the Logo needs to be aggressive. The Last Logo update gave it a meaner face. I loved that. It sent a message. Mr Ross is about nightclubs in the stadium, famous co owners and umbrella drinks. That's all fine as well, but I'll be damned if I'll wear a Tshirt representing that on my chest. Let alone PAY A PREMIUM for it? I said it before, you guys are nuts. Sorry , call me juvenile whatever you want . The New Logo sucks, its very passive and feminize. Not NFL caliber.

I agree. I really dig the new colors. But........do you really want a beautiful NFL team? Seriously? That Logo needs to be changed to something more aggressive. Just look at the other NFL team logos.
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=nfl+logos&qpvt=nfl+logos&FORM=IGRE ALL teams are not pretty , all have mean aggressive faces, NONE are pretty. None are realistic. Also.......Most have never been changed. Some Teams appreciate History. For a Team that constantly points to the Perfect season for inspiration , its funny how they just took a crap over the old logo , what it means too the fans that got them here today. Update it. Absolutely. Colors? Yes. But a completely new Sea World Logo? Really?

Most people hated the logo change to that meaner face. It just looked silly on a dolphin. Emphasizing the speed was clearly the right move. There is some aggressiveness or attitude in the design of the eye. IMO that's enough. Anything more than that goes too much towards a caricature. I also like how the new logo looks on the helmet. I think that's mostly due to the new pose. I like how in that picture from camp that showed the line of scrimmage it looked like a pod of dolphins swimming together. I see the update as a good blend of keeping with tradition yet improving the design. I would say that other than the stupid helmet on the old logo, that design looked like Sea World. It certainly looks more like the Sea World logos posted above.

And I believe every team has changed their logo at one time or another. This link shows the current logos and when you click on the logo it shows you how it changed over the years. Some were subtle. Some were drastic. http://www.sportslogos.net/teams/list_by_league/7

I get that you don't like the new logo and that's you're prerogative, but I don't get why you feel there's a point to seeking out threads about the logo and complaining about it. I've hated the helmet on the dolphin for the last 35 years or so. I've mentioned it when discussions about a logo change occurred, but I didn't try to **** on everybody who said they were buying merchandise with that logo on it.

Dude, it's a dolphin... lol... they are smiling assassins. They don't look mean, but are top tier predators known for speed, intelligence, and cunning. As for the logo itself, it isn't a choice I personally would have made, but I've made my peace with it, and dolphins do make that pose when attacking... the whole "SeaWorld" thing just comes from the similarities in the poses that the killer whales are taught by trainers...

Dolphins rounding up prey and attacking:

Yeah, we need an aggressive logo like Green Bay, the Giants, the Jets, the Pats, the Bill, the 49ers, the Bears, the Bengals, the Texans, the Colts, the Cowboys, the Steelers, the Bucs, the Browns, the Jets, the Falcons, the Chargers, the Saints, the Chiefs, the Redskins, the Raiders. I mean look how aggressive and angry those couple of logos are. Sigh.

I'm sorry, there's no way putting a meaner face on a cartoon dolphin sent a message to anyone.

When the uniforms and helmets go on, there's practically no one in the NFL that's either intimidated or influenced by a logo in any substantial way to make a difference.

Its the only thread actively discussing it and I didn't think I was ruining it. These people can't find the new logo and are willing to pay a premium, I think that's nuts. When people make statements in a thread and don't give reasons why they made those statements that usually pisses me off and they come off very Troll like. I just wanted to share why I felt that way and I believe I've done it in a reasonably intelligent and articulate way. Sorry you do not agree.

Was not going to bring it up , but since you opened the door.............
No this is where the SEAWORLD similarities come in......... http://www.examiner.com/article/sea...multi-year-marketing-deal-with-miami-dolphins Ross is a sellout. And I'm OK with that. I know its a business. But he has Crapped over 47 yrs of Miami Dolphins Tradition. You update 47 yr old Logos, you don't out right change them. Its B.S. Plain and simple.

Look at these NFL Logos: The Texans, Ravens, cardinals, The Lions, all of them. ALL are cartoonish. "ve never seen a Blue Lion or a Redwhit&blue Steer? [IMG]
]Its not supposed to be reality. Save that for SeaWorld and Nature shows. We had a 47 yr old Tradition. This would have been a perfect mix of the Old and the New: [IMG] Just add the new colors. Instead we are now a marketing campaign for SeaWorld. LITERALLY.

You need stop saying we had a 47 year tradition with the old logo. We didn't. The logo that was changed was first introduced in 1997. Its history is crap. It ushered in the era of frustration that most fans are still bitter about to this day.

Whether you agree or not with what I'm about to say is irrelevant, but the change from the last logo was as drastic as the original logo was to the past one. Hell, this new one, at least gets pretty close to the original colors.

Its fine you don't like it, but every ("fact"-based) reason you've given for not liking it, is ridiculously wrong. There was no tradition destroyed and most NFL logos are not aggressive. It simply doesn't meet up with your personal aesthetic which is your right, but quit passing off fallacies as facts in defense of your dislike.

Wow. You mean Sea World will just now feature real Dolphins? And Ross wants to capitalize on that and make a profit by partnering with them? Yes, he is horrible. How dare he take part in Capitalism. lol...

I have no problem with it and really don't understand your issues with everything. You don't like the logo. That's fine. But I don't see the issues as all Ross. Wayne is the one that put this team in the toilet, starting with hiring Wanny. Parcells and Sparano were just as bad. Right now I like where we're headed and am ok with Ross' handling of the team. Irish is finding his stride and Philbin and his coaches have their act together and are actually competent.

I agree with that. Wayne was the worst thing to ever happen to this team. He kept his nose out of the football part of it and made a cool Billion when he sold it. Ross looks like he is truly passionate about winning. But I believe the Logo is sacred. Yes it was changed in 97'. But not completely. Just an update. This new one is beyond an update. Its horrible IMO. Looks like a fish on the helmet It belongs on a Marlin Baseball cap. Just My Opinion. Love the new colors I just won't be buying any new merchandise. Something tells me Ross will be OK from that though.........

Got my new Tannehill jersey... thought I'd post this which shows each logo size on the jersey sleeve (last year vs this year). Interesting that the new one is so much smaller. After all we've ranted and raved about... somewhat ironic...

I will take new logo any day of the week.

Like is said earlier, the logo is really at its best when grouped together in unity. I think thats what they were going for, and it works. Makes me love the position of the Dolphin! Took some getting used to, since it was a drastic change, but IMO, its a change that will stay for a long time, and a change for the better. The Dolphin is actually swimming and not in a pose that really doesn't fit!

Actually, I was more annoyed by the comments you made in the New merchandise thread. I never said anything before that other than to post an opinion. What's coming off as troll like is that you're not saying anything new. Basically you just keep repeating "sea world" and "really?".

I wouldn't call the Lions logo "cartoonish". I actually like their logo. It doesn't look dorkish ,though unlike a dolphin with a helmet.
