I could be wrong but I thought there was an area over there that's protected land.

Team name would not have to change if the stadium is in Palm Beach.

The Cowboys stadium is in Arlington TX not Dallas and the NY teams don't even play home games in the same state they represent.

No, the Broward fans would probably be lower in attendance. Conversely, the Palm Beach County attendance will increase. Even people to the north will be more likely to attend a game.

From a geographic perspective, moving north is preferable.

Anywhere in Pompano Beach would work. Close your eyes, pick out 100 acres, and tear it down..... preferably the entire stretch between Atlantic Blvd & Copans, east of 95 to Dixie.

Good Year blimp wouldn't have far to go. lol. Of course we'd have to relocate the drug dealers & prostitutes..... but Section126 might have some ideas in that regard. :shifty:

Stringer come on..... You're trying to tell me that the Dolphins moving an hour to an hour and a half away from the largest county that supports it and farther away from the 2nd largest county in population that supports it in favor of a smaller markets population along with "people to the north" (sparsely populated areas) is a "preferable move"?

Any potential one. I doubt the Dolphins would take ownership of this stadium.

Define PLENTY by looking up the actual numbers and when you're done compare the actual numbers you find to the numbers that reside in Dade and Broward counties.

And how many of then are Jets/Giants fans, and not natives to South Florida and not very likely to support the team.

I seriously doubt the Dolphins are going anywhere but this is fun to discuss during this part of the off-season.

There is an 80 acre parcel of land directly across I-95 from the Boca Airport that is already government owned. It was the site of the IBM complex that has been closed for years. It's an 80 minute drive from Homestead Miami Speedway, a 90 minute drive from Vero Beach and a 10 minute ride from the Tri Rail station. It's mostly wooded with pines and surrounded on the S,W,N by commercial property. If I was going to cherry pick a spot, this would be it.

No one has mentioned that there is very little in Palm Beach County to attract people for a Superbowl.
You have Clematis street, but thats it.

Yes it does. For alot of people who live in Kendall, Pinecrest, Homestead, Cutler and maybe the Keys that would be a hell of a drive.

What does Miami have Palm Beach doesnt? Beaches? no. Clubs? no. Strip clubs? no.

Maybe some "better" clubs (opinions) but still, if you're traveling to south FL for the super bowl (probably a week long) You can drive 40 mins south to Miami if you need to.

There are beaches and world-class golf.

But most importantly, there would be a new stadium.

Don't think it matter that they aren't states. Just the fact that they aren't cities. Palm Beach Dolphins sounds stupid.

PB may not have the clubs that Miami has but it's got everything else. You've got Clematis and Downtown at the Gardens up north a little. But most importantly you have the beaches, and that entire beach atmosphere. If the team did move north into Palm Beach County, I'm also sure there'd be a ton of development to make the city it's in able to support a Super Bowl.

I'm not telling you who to support. I'm just saying don't believe BS. Being emotionally inclined to a pick a side doesn't make that side correct.

Mike Dee said more lies in one press conference than Weatherford has throughout the entire process.

And Weatherford isn't the bad guy here. You want to know who really killed the bill? Wait and see who gets elected Speaker after Weatherford is termed out next year.

Well considering that Santa Barbara is in the southern part of California and no where near where the Niners are currently, or will be in a few years, it wouldn't make sense to call them that. ;)

It's being built in Sana Clara, which is about 30 minutes south of where they currently are now, in South San Francisco.

Sorry, I came to this discussion late, but there is precedent to a state named team, at least 2. Tenn. Titans and Minn. Vikings.

Both are the only football teams in their respective states. States with multiple teams have those teams named after cities. This is why they're the Arizona Cardinals instead of the Glendale Cardinals, why they're the San Francisco 49ers instead of the California 49ers, why they're the Kansas City Chiefs instead of the Missouri Chiefs, and why they're the Houston Texans instead of the Texas Texans. (Admit it, you want a team named the Texas Texans.)

Well either way I would want it to remain Miami Dolphins as it has been since Joe Robbie created the expansion.

All this is just speculation and of course Dee playing his card threatening to move out of Miami, I think we'll be hearing more about the stadium very soon, as we get closer to May 21.

Show me where I said WPB has more residents than Dade/Broward because I cant find it. Look at a map. Moving the stadium further north makes it accessible to more of Florida, not less....

Oh please, just stop it. He was asked a direct question and said everything is on the table. What's he suppose to say? Screw PB they suck or I don't care if they offer us a free stadium, we're sticking here.

That stadium in Miami had it's worst attendance record in decades in 2012.
Those fans in KC know they aren't winning. Same in DC yet they care enough to be there in full force.
Somehow Dolphin fans in their city feel they are being cheated.
Ross is trying his best to improve the product. I don't get some of the logic here.

"Before the failure in the Legislature, the Dolphins’ source had talked about contingency plans. He said that spending at least $700 million on a new stadium might make more sense than renovating Sun Life Stadium, “or putting lipstick on a pig.”"

    Start the revolution..OB2 OB2 OB2!!!

Y'all better be with me if we ever get a chance at that, I mean all resources we can to get the OB2 campaign heard..y'all need me on that committee, I'll build you a fu&$in stadium that will blow the orange bowl away.lol

I'm on the Treasure Coast. I would bet the majority of fans that go to games come from North of Miami Dade. A new West Palm location and a brand new Stadium built specifically for the Dolphins would just KILL. I bet it would be sold out every week.
