http://www.upi.com/blog/2013/04/29/...eless-man-shopping-to-the-club/7741367274379/ I know Chad isn't technically a Dolphin anymore, but since he doesn't have a team, I figured this was as good a place as any. This made me really wish he worked out here. Hilarious and heartwarming story. Gotta read the Tweets...
Call me cynical, but sounds like a contrived, desperate publicity stunt to get him some goodwill, in a last ditch effort to play in the NFL.
Sure, taking a homeless guy out for a drunken romp through the city is a great way to earn good will. I don't know. Whether you think it's genuine or not, pretty funny and homeless guy look like he had a blast.
At this point, "Who's Chad Johnson?" Now if you'd started the story with 'Pork Chop', I'd have known who you were talking about.... LOL
When Chad played for the Bengals, during the regular season if they had a home game, every Friday night he'd go a restaurant called J. Alexander's. If you happened to be there when Chad was there, your bill was paid. By him. Everyone in the place who hadn't paid yet. It's a pretty pricey place. I know he also took groups of the opposition's fans out to dinner on road trips as well.
On the surface you would think so but for whatever reason Chad has a soft spot for homeless people and has been doing this kind of thing for years. http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/20...chad-ochocinco-basketball-wives-dolphins-camp
Goodwill is goodwill. The spirit in which it was given is immaterial. It was given. That's all that matters.
Chad has his hangups but I think all around he's a good dude. I take my hat off to him getting close to a homeless dude like that rather than just writing a check and being done with it. Some pros can barely stand the fans...let alone the downtrodden.
I would have liked to seen Chad find his A game while here but that didn't happen. He has one of the funniest personalities of any NFL player I've ever seen.
I look at it differently. I would think he could make a much bigger impact by working with the homeless shelter, instead of spending the money on one guy. I'm sure that Pork chop had a great time, but I think the money could have done more good if it was spent more wisely. I don't deny that he can spend money however he likes and that it was goodwill. But I bet he could have fed a good number of people with that money.
Chad has given plenty back to poverty stricken people in his neighborhood. He's written checks and spent buku time with people with nothing or very little income. This isn't an isolated incident for him. But you don't have to write a check and save the world everytime. Sometimes its cool just to show some kindness and show some intimacy with those people too. I think Chad showed that he really cares and is not just a check writer. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
If I could get my wife to throw me out do you think he'd give me his car? I would really be happy. And I would have a badazz new mobile home.
Ok, you're cynical. Can't believe you're looking for an angle in this as if these weren't likely a couple of Pork Chops greatest two days of his life. If only the rest of the NFL were this gracious.
