That, IMO, was a waste of time. How many times can people say "Dolphins can't count on Williams."?

It's old, it's tired, and I'm sick of hearing about it. Of COURSE there is a degree of reluctance. Naturally, given his past. But so far, there is no reason to discount RW. He has shown nothing BUT dedication to the Dolphins and the new regime and everything I've heard coming out of camp was that he looked better than anyone out there.

I guess we can chalk this up to it being slow right now and someone was bored and had nothing else to talk about. Pretty pointless, IMO. Myself, I support Ricky and what he potentially brings to the Dolphins. If he screws up, then he's out. Then we no longer have to worry about him. If he stays clean (which I believe he will) then we have one helluva two headed monster in the backfield.

This is his contract year. Next year he will be a free agent, I doubt that he will slip with all of that riding on it.

I like Ricky Williams I hope he gets over a thousand yards & manages to stay healthy...

Ya know, I actually dont mind this article. I like Ricky, and I think he brings alot to the table this year. But the fact still remains that we cant fully count on him. I don't think he's going to slip up, but nobody ever thought he would have in the first place either. You just never know, and right now as things stand, given his past, its really hard to count on the guy, to put all your eggs in one basket. You just never know what Ricky is going to decide to do next. I think thats really the main point of this article. I think it shows that right here...

That pretty much sums it up with Ricky. Now as the article goes on to say after that, theres no doubt Ricky can still be a good, productive back for this league. However, until he shows he's re-committed fully to the game, and this team, you really cant bank on him. It seems he's headed in that direction, which is awesome for us, theres no doubt about that. So im happy for that, and hopefully he keeps up the good, hard, and dedicated work.

The article should be nothing new. I know I don't trust Ricky and have been very vocal around here about it. I just can't understand all the Ricky love and never will. The way I was raised, you were given someones trust once and once you broke it you had to earn it back. In my opinion, Ricky has done nothing to earn back my trust, and I'm not in the habit of just giving it out.

Any Fin fan who didn't already conclude this about Ricky doesn't know much about Ricky or the Fins history...rehash of what we all already know...

No matter how much Dolphin fans may not like hearing it, RW is unreliable. And while Dolphin fans may be aware of that fact, RW is not top of mind to most NFL fans. It's perfectly reasonable to have an article that addresses this topic.

Well yes you get burned over and over and the whole idea of "trust" goes out the window. We are all aware of that. But the part where he shows no committment is a little misleading.

Haven't we heard from camp that rickey has been working his tail off, our coaches are impressed and his relationship with ronnie has been even further enhanced this offseason?

With today's media and blogs...RW story is known by nearly any NFL fan. Jeff is just another blogger, he's not a media guy...just another guy writing a story for a web site. I'm not knocking him or the article, but you'd have to really live in a vacuum (at least as the NFL goes) to not know his story and understand that the man is unreliable. To say that Fins fans shouldn't rely on RW as our savior is "Capt. Obvious" obvious...

Well, I don't live in a Dolphin centric area. I've spoken to few football fans about next season and some weren't even aware the RW was on the team. I've heard comments like "is he back?" and "does he still play?". On the other hand I have heard some irrational exuberance from some Dolphin fans about how well RW will do this year. The feeling being that with an unknown QB, our running game is what will carry us. And with RB coming off of an injury it's all going to fall on RW. So in my experience there are many NFL fans who have forgotten about RW and there are some Dolphin fans who are relying on RW as this year's savior.
