Damn, swapped 4th rounders, moved up what 7 spots to trade Bess. Im not a huge fan of that. Gibson made him expendable, but damn. Wish we could have gotten a pick and not had to give one up too. Wish Bess nothing but the best of luck. He was a really classy guy, and hard worker for being a UDFA. We coudln't have asked for any more out of him.
I think this is more Philbin wanting him off the team. In addition to the Leadership Council thing, I bet they felt he could've played the latter part of the season when he was out with a bad back.
It's fine. Bess wasn't going to be resigned next year anyway, and he very likely would have seen a very reduced amount of snaps this year. Would have liked to have gotten more for him, of course, but we got something now when we could have gotten nothing next year.
How can you cut an 800yd slot WR who's been solid, not great when weve had nothing at QB, TE or WR since Bess has been a Dolphin. Good luck to Davone.
That seems to be it. Really trying hard to change the culter, and get guys doing things his way, and if theyre not, they're out. Got to send a strong message.
Better then letting him walk. Would love to replace him with Swope or Bailey. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 via Tapatalk 2
Team culture. It's not a coincidence every player on the leadership council is now gone. Add in the speculated dispute regarding his playing status in the latter part of the season = bye bye.
When did they try to re-sign Dansby? As for Long, didn't it come out that he didn't meet with the Dolphins after his trip to St. Louis? They apparently had a standing offer but none of us really know.
saw a rumor that they tried to redo dansbys contract. And if you know they had a standing offer, what makes you think they didn't want him back?
And i dont want Gibson to be honest. Cant see what we are getting thats such an obvious upgrade over Bess. Bess wasnt a Marshall in the ego department. Who am i to know but im not exstatic over Bess leaving.
I said they apparently had a standing offer but we don't really know. Enough "insiders" on twitter indicated we didn't bother meeting with Long after his trip to St. Louis. Besides, even if we did offer, how do we know it wasn't a lower per year average with little guaranteed money?
Might have had something to do with saving some $. Maybe we are still thinking of trading for Alberts AFTER the draft. If so we can use a little extra $. I don't know. I would have liked to keep Bess, I think he was a great Dolphin. I wish him the best.
so again, how does that mean we didn't want him back? We also have insiders that suggest we wanted to resign long and restruture dansby.
Well then the only thing we know for certain is the fact neither is on the roster and one remains unemployed.
Leadership council may not be the only reason but like I said all four from that council are now gone. I don't think that is a coincidence.
