I'm thrilled with the value of the trade. If we now can pull off the Albert trade with getting Jordan, WOW! I'm loving this!
Ordrick is a non-effort tweener. I'd flip him for a 4th rounder in a second. Starks is a tackle, playing on a one year deal. Vernon is not dynamic. Big Paul is on the last year of his deal. Cam Wake is not that young. The defensive line could have gotten really thin and really bad really quick. This is a proactive pick by Ireland.
I was so ready to throw my remote if he said Lane Johnson. Great deal on the trade too. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 via Tapatalk 2
Seriously, we just basically raped Oakland. We only gave up one second rounder to move from 12 to 3. That normally costs a hell of alot more than one second rounder. And we got a serious player of need.
Guys, hate it or love it, the price was unreal. Now how we didn't go LT is freagin beyond me me. But I love the price. If you don't, take of the blinders off for a sec. Put the pick aside, the price to get up there was beautiful. Dion Jordan? It Miami. How can you be shocked about being shocked?
We could have done much better with that pick, but I hope in the future....I'm wrong about my opinion.
We got the third pick, not a third rounder. I know, I made same mistake initially when I saw their outline of trade.
Dion Jordan almost certainly means Jared Odrick is going to continue to play defensive end. Odds are they're going to go to more of a 3-4 style defense than they will be a 4-3 with two wide defensive ends.
@Edwerderespn: Only cost Dolphins a second-round pick to Oakland to move from 12 to 3. Should have cost twice that. Move-up price discounted Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 via Tapatalk 2
This. Anyone remember Jimmy Clausen? There's a reason I'm watching NFL Network. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 via Tapatalk 2
Which is not a problem for me. Jordan was a WR. He could at SLB turn out to be one of the few players that can cover well enough, rush well enough, and stop the run with this range to become the perfect strong-side linebacker. He's athletic enough that Miami may be able to keep their base defense on the field regardless of what other team's do.
That's because Kiper looks at our 4-3 and says, "Herpederp! Bad fit!". But he's not our defensive coordinator.
The way the game is evolving, attacking the QB with fast athletes is the only way to control the pistol/spread.
You know why he wasn't on the field Gruden??? Because Oregon puts up 50 points a game. What a dumb sh*t.
