    Per Rotoworld.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the Chiefs have informed Luke Joeckel that Eric Fisher will be the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday night's draft.

If true, the Jaguars will have plenty of teams trying to trade up and take Joeckel in the No. 2 spot. As was reported on Wednesday, the Chiefs coaching staff reportedly preferred Fisher over Joeckel, while the scouts wanted Joeckel. Coach Andy Reid appears to have won out. Fisher has also been receptive to the idea of playing right tackle should Branden Albert not be traded.

Hey remember when finyank said he wasn't going to talk about the draft?

    That lasted a whole hour!

I will not be happy if we trade our 2014 1st rounder to move up to draft Joeckel. Love the talent, but 2 first round picks for a lineman is not a route I want to take.

I'm not sure sober is even a word in finyank's bizarre vocabulary.

Unfortunately i cant get rid of this sober thing until an hour or so. IF we give up 2 1sts for Joeckel it would be wild. I dont think Ireland has the balls to do it especially with this being a "contract" year for him.

Based on what I just read on ESPN, KC might still deal the pick (assuming the get what they're asking for). Or, is that old news?

There were reports on ESPN that the Chiefs would probably take Fisher because he could play both left and right tackle. Joeckel is seen only as a LT in the NFL. By taking Fisher, the Chiefs could put him at RT and leave Albert at LT.

As far as I can see, the drafting of Fisher would only make it harder for Ireland to try and reduce the draft choice the Chiefs want from them in a possible trade for Albert. The trade could still go through, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Chiefs just keeps Albert and moves Fisher to RT this coming season.

That seems reeeeeaally dumb to me. 1st pick on a right tackle. Sure he cd move to left in the future, but they need some impact players.

I think because it is a win or lose your job year for Ireland, two ones for Joeckel actually makes a lot of sense for Ireland. He would get a top tier LT and it would make the offense that much better. If he is still the GM in 2014, it will be because players like Joeckel stepped up and the team made the playoffs.

If he is fired after the 2013 season because the team failed to make the playoffs or had another losing season, why would he care that the Dolphins had no first round pick in 2014? Many experts feel Joeckel and Fisher are the two best players in this draft. Ireland might feel it would be worth giving up next years #1 to move up and draft Joeckel. We will see in a few hours.

What they needed was a quality football coach and a starting QB. They hired Reid as the HC and traded for Smith to be their starting QB. The fact is that they have a lot more talent than the Dolphins on their roster. They had six players who made the Pro Bowl in 2012. They aren't nearly as bad as their record showed. I think they will be in 2013 what the Colts were in 2012. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they make the playoffs this coming season.

I think Fisher will eventually become their starting LT, but by drafting him, they could keep Albert for one more year if they feel that they can't get what they want for him in a trade. I am not saying the Chiefs will keep Albert. I just think that by drafting Fisher, it makes it harder for the Dolphins to try and lower the pick the Chiefs want in a trade for Albert.

That's still a lot of O line money. Not sure what they are spending on the rest of the line but it can't be much.

Man. This is bad news. The last thing I want is a LJ or D Jordan falling to #3 tempting Ireland to trade 4 picks to move up. IMO, that'd be an absolutely awful result.

He better not do it. This team still has too many holes to be giving up extra picks for an OLineman.

Milliner's the pick guys, relax. My guess is that they use Bess as ammo to get Milliner.

Have you checked out how much the Dolphins have spent on the offensive line since Ireland became the teams GM in 2008? What the Chiefs would be spending on their OL, even with them keeping Albert would pale in comparison to all the wasted millions the Dolphins have spent on their very mediocre offensive line over the past five years.

Really? The team that signed a big free agent tackle and then released him the next year hasn't wasted millions?

I cant believe that dolphin fans are obsessed with trading away draft picks for another freakin left tackle . we need a cb and a de more then a left tackle.

picking a olineman in rd 1 would be the dumbest move that Miami could make. but only dolphin fans can be stuipid enough to want a olineman with the first pick.

we should be wanting a de or cb or even a te in rd 1 not another damn olineman.

Why? Milliner is a top prospect at a major position of need.

I hope Arizona trades up and takes Lane Johnson. Then Geno Smith at 4 so that the real prospects last longer, then something hilarious like Barkley at 8, Austin at 9, and Dee Milliner at 12.

Well, good value for getting up to the third pick. A DE will make Wake that much better, and the secondary too -in one fell swoop.

I hope we offer Kansas City a third and seventh pick for Albert.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miami says oh hey K.C. we traded that 2nd. Oops sorry... K bye...
