Exactly. Reports yesterday were that Bess was being valued in a trade as 4th round worth, so we'd be giving a 2nd and a 4th for Albert. No thanks.
My money is on a trade up with Cleveland for Barkevious Mingo, the closest player talent-wise to Cam Wake. He wouldn't be my personal first choice, but if he reaches his potential he's a player who will grow to make me glad we took him. He could be a different animal in the NFL once allowed to pin his ears back and get after the QB rather than asking him to read & react.
I'm gonna put my fist up Ireland's *** if he uses our draft picks to move up for a lineman.. Not this draft Todd, not with what could be, if you can't find capable lineman to settle this unit later on, or up until this year, then imo, something has been wrong, and continues to be wrong.
So who we taking in round 2 after sending Cleveland a 3rd & Bess for Mingo (or perhaps your boy Jordan)?
I know some aren't high on him, but Damontre Moore in the 2nd would be awesome. The talent is definitely there.
Who would I take if we move up for Jordan..well, after changing my shorts to feel fresh again, probably Keenan Allen.
I could see Mingo falling to us, honestly. There are some things about him that might push him down (narrow frame, long legs, small hips, poor production). Jets and Browns the likely spots, but I could easily see both picking someone else. Fwiw, if he does fall a bit, 49ers may come calling with all them picks; they can afford an unproductive high-ceiling guy.
I wonder if this will be a draft that sets records for trades and moves? I don't know if I have ever heard this much talk of trades leading up to the draft, although there always seem to be some.
Ugh Joeckel would be awesome but that's giving up 2 first round picks for him. That would be a bad move.
Anyone have a printable version of the first round? Going to a Buffalo Wild Wings w/ a buddy and it wd be nice to have.
pick order or prospects PROSPECTS http://gridironexperts.com/DL/NFLDraft2013List.pdf https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlMoEgZ_Xz0zdFBTajVlYi1MaTV1QVp2WXRFcEVyNHc#gid=14
if it happens, so be it. now all they need is a QB and help on the OL. Jets better fill holes based on needs and not wants or they will continue to lose games. happy to know they can't draft well....
whats the updates on Bess and Albert? been reading the tickers all afternoon on both. waiting patiently
I would seriously flip my ****. I don't want a lineman in round 1, period. Nevermind one lineman for two picks. Trade for Albert if that's the case. Cheaper pick > saving a few bucks.
Yeah, I am on board with either trading a late 2nd for Albert or drafting one at 12, but I'm not trading up for one and giving up another 1st round pick.
they cant seriously be thinking about trading next years 1 that is ridiculous for a tackle I hope this is a bs rumor
I don't think they will. I think Ireland will try something but he doesn't want to give up 1st round picks.
Right. Dallas moved from 14 last year to #6 and gave up nothing more than a 2nd round pick. If Ireland traded #12, #42, and added something to sweeten the pot (nothing ridiculous) mind you, that's is the only acceptable trade for LJ that I could tolerate. Even then, I'd be disappointed to a degree. I want use to use all of our picks and start building a young team.
It's gonna be depressing when the Bills pair the most explosive running back in the game with the most explosive player in the game, Austin. Then they'll trade up 2a for Barkley to give these guys an intelligent QB capable of running an efficient offense and feeding the ball to their playmakers and letting those guys do a lot of the work. It'll kill me having a couple of my favorite college players both playing for a divisional rival (Spiller & Austin).
Jokes on them, they're still the Bills. And they will always be. Barkley doesn't have the arm for Buffalo, IMO. I'm more worried about the Jets than the Bills. Jet's D didn't even miss Revis and now they have picks. If their GM is competent (which he seems so), then they have the opportunity to start fresh next year, while letting their top picks develop now. Next season Rex and Sanchez are gone and whomever coaches/QB's that team might have some decent building blocks if the Jets don't **** it up tonight/tomorrow/Sat.
With you on the pain. I don't think highly of Barkley. Would be fun watching him try to throw in Buffalo winds. But, seeing either Austin or Eifert go to the Bills or Jets will be so painful.... Esp. Austin.
Just flashed across espn that the chiefs and phins will not discuss the Albert trade any further until After they both make their first round picks. I don't have a link or anything... On bike at the gym. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
LOL you've got a bad case of Tavonitis. So what if the Bills have Austin and Spiller. We'll shut their asses down the same way we always do.
