Miami Dolphins New logo/uniforms Thread

Yeah, I always like those throwbacks we wore on Thanksgiving 2003. But I agree the logo and the color could change.

IMO, this has been a brilliant strategy by Mike Dee.

I don't think he planned on the Jags leaking the uniform, but the logo leaks if not planned were hoped for. I'm willing to bet any amount of money the leak from the NY Fan group was intended. All this has done is create buzz on top of buzz on top of buzz. Just look at the length of this thread. The logo change was all over national media outlets. Not too mention, they were able to hear fan feedback before anything was set in stone.

As far as the negative reaction, well, literally every logo change from a long standing logo is hated at first, from football teams to AT&T. Its the nature of the beast. What's important is the publicity, and the wait Mike Dee has made us sit through has caused publicity to reach a fever pitch more than once. Its brilliant marketing.

 

The orange stripe, there is a an orange strip on the helmet, down the side of the pant, and outlining the number, accompanied by a dark stripe and an aqua stripe..

It's going to give the uniform a lot more character and color than people who thinkits plain are thinking..

On another site their taking a poll, about 70 percent of folks really like the new uniform, another 20 are ok with it, only 10 percent don't like it...those are hardcore fans as well I might add..

I think it's real clean and sharp, and the outlines are gonna make it really standout when we see it live, I guarantee its gonna make a difference.

I'm really dissatisfied with how blank the white uniforms are. Look at the images of the "old" uniform in contrast. The facemask, the collar, the ends of the sleeves, the belt.....all gone. Now just....blank. Like an empty canvas.

 

I personally like the new uniforms. Very clean looking and I like that they modernized the numbers.

 

What I heard is that from a printing standpoint, the new logo is a lot easier to process for shirts, hats, banners, etc. and since they made a change, they had to go to the league to say they have a logo change. I don't think they ever intended to have a radical change and huge unveiling like we did.

 

I'm a fan of simple uniforms but I don't like these. There's no need for the black outline, and there should be a lot more orange. I don't like navy on the helmet or the white face mask, either.

Hopefully they'll look better when they're actually released, but right now I'm kinda disappointed.

 

I still really wish that there was some semblance of a sleeve stripe on the jersey. Oh well.

 

It's growing on me a little bit. I wish there was a little more orange, or some other accent on the aqua jersey. A stripe on the sleeves, or something, just to set it off a bit more. The white jersey to me is just too plain, especially with the plain white pants, I think a stripe somewhere on the arms would have made it look nice, a bit more like the old school ones too. The accent colors are there on the stripe on the pants, just not thick enough, not noticeable enough. That's the biggest problem to me though, but its grown on me a bit since yesterday. I do miss the aqua pants though. There's just way too much white in the away uni's.

 

I read where the leaked photos are about a month old. I've also read somewhere during that past few weeks that the unis were originally going to have a darker stripe in the trim, but the Dolphins had opted to drop that for a cleaner look. I can handle it if the pics are of the finished product, but it would be so much more awesome if the darker stripes were gone and it was nothing but aqua and orange. I'm really digging the wide aqua stripes on the pants and helmet though. That looks so much better than the multi stripes we've had in the past.

 

I've never been all that into buying jerseys and hats. I'll watch every game and support them on the field, no matter what I think of the uniforms. You don't need to own a single hat or jersey to support a team.

 

How the hell are people saying this trash reminds them of the retro uniforms? Nothing the Dolphins ever wore resembles these aborted fetuses that will be unveiled tomorrow....

 

These instantly have become the greatest uniforms in Dolphins history IMO.

 

Rumor of 3rd alternate jersey to be shown tomorrow.

 

IMO Those are great for a throw back jersey, but its not the 1970s anymore.....those our wayyyy out dated.

I figured it out last night, you see the jerseys are like a coloring book, they come with a set of markers so you can add the color. Brilliant creative way to increase fan experience and encourage fan participation.

Actually when I took a picture and zoomed on my Iphone, I see on the pant leg, a black stripe, a dark blue, orange and aqua....could be my eyes playing tricks on me...

 

its funny how different people see different things. I see Aqua stripe, blue outline and orange outlining that when i zoom. On the numbers I see Black outline, then orange outline. Helmet I see aqua stripe, black outline that could be blue no hint or orange

 

That's correct, and it's the same on all three stripes.

 

So are you guys saying there are 4 different colors on each stripe?

I hear ya, and the buzz part is certainly beyond doubt. I just think some of the leaks could've been done a little more clear, but I suppose that's the point - have us keep researching, checking, waiting, holding breath, etc. Which we obviously all are. I can't wait to see the polished product tomorrow, and figure out what I'm going to buy. Which is also the point of creating buzz.

My overall point is I just think people will be happier w/ it overall once they see it in its full glory.

 

I've said it before, Mike Dee should be on Game of Thrones, we've been led around by the nose and made to be his *****. But I think history shows that fan acceptance of the logo would actually be worse if it happened with less waiting.

 

No, there's three colors..

Down the pant leg, there is a thick aqua stripe, then a thin dark navy stripe, then even a thinner orange stripe.

On the helmet, there is a thick aqua strip outlined with a thin dark navy stripe, that's it...no orange stripe

On the numbers, it's the same as the pant leg, aqua filled in numbers, outlined by a thin dark navy stripe, and a thinner orange stripe, on the white uniform, the numbers are filled in with white, then a thin dark navy stripe, and a thinner orange stripe..

It's really cool..the iPad can magnify it where you can really see it...no orange on the helmet, except in the logo, which I like, I like the two tone stripe.

 

Guys, why are'nt talking about the third jersey??.. There's going to be a third one my brothers, no worries on the flip side..

I could be down with that...light grey, aqua, and faded orange would look smooth as hell together..especially with a matte gray finish on the helmet..love that..

Would also like a navy blue concept..

I have a feeling we might go old school baby on this third one guys, then all my bros will be happy, that would be a real smart move by Dee, financially as well..

Today, Lukas explains how the pic of the 3 new uniform sets accidentally got leaked. It was a Jacksonville TV station's screw-up. The pics were taken at a Nike event a few weeks ago. The new Vikings & Dolphins pics were supposed to be held back until their unveiling.

Maybe, just maybe, Dolphins decided to ditch the black last minute and made some changes. I can dream right? We will see in 29 hrs!
