Norris mocked all seven rounds for the entire NFL: http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0ap1000000162248/article/2013-nfl-draft-sevenround-mock-forecasts-every-pick-1-to-254 Here's his Dolphins' Mock - I would like this (except that he has Tavon Austin going to the Jets which would suck - and it was the first thing I feared the moment the Revis trade went down): *(Comments in rounds 1 & 2 are his. He stopped commenting after round 2 selections) 1. #12: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina. As of publishing, the Dolphins had not acquired Branden Albert. Cooper cannot play on the edge, but he would solidify one of the interior positions. 2. #42: D.J. Hayden, CB, Houston. Hayden could be selected much higher than this. The corner who overcame a unique injury has great closing speed and locates the football to disrupt at the catch point. 2. #54: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M. Moore is a conundrum, in that he has admitted to a poor work ethic off the field while showcasing an outstanding motor on it. He can win in a secondary pass-rushing role. 3. #77: Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M. (FYI: he has Bailey, Kelce & Long all 'mocked' to the first 7 picks at the top of round 3) 3. #82: Reid Fragel, OT, Ohio State. 4. 111: Malliciah Goodman, DE, Clemson. 5. 146: Montori Hughes, DT, Tennessee-Martin. 5. 166: Dennis Johnson, RB, Arkansas. 7. 217: Jonathan Stewart, ILB, Texas A&M. 7. 224: Earl Watford, OG, James Madison. 7. 250: Vince Williams, LB, Florida State. Not coming away with a TE hurts (would rather have landed Fauria at 217 or 224 - he has him going to the Falcons at 236). A bit A&M heavy. And, we might be better off going for Bailey at #54 in round 2 and gambling for Moore to drop to us into round 3 (versus other way around). But, I like doubling up on DE and Goodman has some potential to develop as a 4-3 DE (so too - Moore, while not a round 1 talent also has some potential - you can't be that productive and not have it). Overall (again, other than the Jets, of all teams, landing Austin), I'd be pretty happy with this. I'd probably be happier with this than what the reality will be come Saturday night. Esp. since Hayden will likely be a 1st round pick. To me, the top two selections of Cooper and Hayden are excellent because they could be two of the safest picks in the draft (assuming Hayden remains healthy). Thoughts?
I've seen worse, but that is awefully high for Cooper especially considering its not a position of dire need for us. Don't like the Moore pick, and I seriously doubt its one Philbon would sign off on.....and Holly crap that's a lot of Aggies.
As much as I'd rather take another position than guard in the 1st. I honestly would walk away from that draft feeling good. I'm not a fan of Moore. But you can't pass on him in the late 2nd as if the light comes on for the kid he's going to be a terror. Great draft.
