Can't wait for tonight's game. I thought Medlen would be the opening day starter but Huddy is never a bad choice.

great win tonight. Wren is looking better and better. Need jhey to start hitting and bj to get more hits then he has. Lets hope we can build on this. j up is in beast mode right now.

I bet they leave BJ in the lead off spot for now. It will be interesting to see how he does. Maybe his bat is waking up. JHey has an issue with his swing right now. Once he gets that ironed out, he will be right there with Justin Upton.

Justin Upton has just been unconscious at the plate this year. It's early, but he's having an MVP type season.

I would like to see them play Evan Gattis more than Gerald Laird. Gattis might be the future though, so I bet he goes to Gwinnett when BMac gets back to get at bats.

Justin Upton is a machine. Obviously he's not going to continue hitting a homer per game but it looks like he's got a great shot at being in the MVP race. I would have liked to see a little better from Teheran. I think he'll be OK though. This team is looking good enough to challenge the hype machine Nationals.

If Just up wants to go at a homer a game clip my fantasy teams will not object. Just none vs the Mets unless its championship week in fantasy baseball. :)

Also what do you guy project Simmons will do? Im in a very deep league that uses traditional positions as well as a Mid Infield spot and could use a bat til Jeter gets well...

I don't know much about Gattis. But, he has surprised me thus far. I think mc canns contract is up soon, so good to have his "replacement" getting some playing time.

I think its safe to say Kevin Towers isn't a great judge of talent when it comes to offensive players.

I feel like this lineup is going to give a pitcher 20 Ks before the season's over.

Or Houston's. But hey at least the Braves have good hitters in the line up, they just happen to swing and miss a lot too.

Is bj hurt? Last night they gave him a break and schafer took his spot. Schafer had 4 hits by the way.

Probably just a day off since he's been struggling at the plate. There's nothing about him being hurt anywhere on new outlets, etc.

I'm not loving the matchup tonight either. I do think it's better to put BJ back in. Some balls could get hit hard, they'll need his defense....

Best team ERA in MLB. Timely hitting and HRs aren't hurting either. We all know what Upton's doing at the plate but the 'bench' guys have really been tearing it up with some guys out and slumping.

Evan Gattis is a freak. My wife and I have already decided that if we have another boy down the road, we are going to name him after Evan Gattis.

I got to see Gattis go deep in person against the Marlins a couple weeks ago. It's the fastest I've ever seen a ball leave the yard. His swing is lightning quick

    Trade one.

But that's assuming he keeps it up until then.

Or you take a serious look at Freddie Freeman. He's been a pedestrian offensive first baseman in his career thus far. And his minor league numbers don't suggest he's going to ever be more than average with the bat.

Atlanta has to decide which two of the three they think is worth keeping around. As of right now, I'd probably take Gattis and Freeman, but that assumes Gattis keeps this up.

I'd hope they would wait until near the deadlline to get a larger sample size of Gattis before considering trading McCann. Teams are seeing more ABs from him and will adjust of course. Then again after that pitch he hit out against Strasburg I'm not sure how you pitch the guy. It seems like he can hit damn near anything out of the park. The one last night was a sinker that wasn't all that high. The one against Strasburg was a pitch that would miss a bat 95% of the time. I watched that one ten times, it was amazing. My daughter is a softball player and I made her watch it just to see the bat speed.

You really believe Freddie Freeman is a pedestrian player at the plate.... was that a joke, am I missing something here?

Simply solution is for the NL to get with the times and get a DH.

But seriously, I think you need to see if Gattis can keep this up, if he can great and if not at least he could be a useful part time player being a platoon partner playing 1B and back up catcher and sometimes LF and pinch hitter.
