A couple of things just in case some is interested. It appears Mike Wallance will wear #11. http://www.thefinsiders.com/blog/2013/wallace-to-wear-no-11-for-dolphins Also, Big Ben praises Wallace. http://www.thefinsiders.com/blog/2013/big-ben-with-big-praise-for-mike-wallace
better than our typical off-season news on our WR: nothing like reading BMarsh getting stabbed by his woman. it was almost a year ago when we had to read that crap.
He did mention this in his post signing press conference (#11).... he said himself its a fast number. Goes good with the double L's in his name too ! Love what Ben had to say, that was really, really cool.
What's that you say, former QB who threw to Wallace? He's not just a one trick pony? Oh please, I'm sure you just haven't seen tape of him...
My hope for the player is to combine the ability he has, with a Davone Bess ninja like focus to the craft..if he can pick up some of that sh&$ from Bess, and then pick up some of the craftiness and deception that Brian Hartline plays with, then common sense tells me he will only get better, more well rounded receiver, I'm not sure with Philbin and Sherman watching you, you can get away with anything but, I mean if you wanted to be lazy and just use your speed as your only game,, then why come here, maybe we get lucky and get the coveted combination. He must know that we won't settle for less.
I wish he could have worn #42. The number of the best WR in team history. I guess though, that the 40s numbers are allowed for TEs but not WR. That seems like really splitting hairs to me.
Funny. but I recently thought how it's kind of a similar situation with Wallace as it was with Warfield. Now, I'm not saying Wallace is or will be as good as Warfield. Warfield is one of the best ever, imo and one of my all-time favs, but it's similar in that the team needed that speedy, down field threat, bigger play type guy to open up the whole O and make it less predictable. Let's hope he can even have an inkling of the success and effect had Warfield.
