I used a subjective example on PURPOSE, because what you said IS. SUBJECTIVE. You merely using the words 'crappy' and 'band' made it subjective. It was a sarcastic mimic response by me, not a defensive point to counter yours.

It doesn't matter if a band is 'crappy' or not, that is you being subjective again. And yes ANY band could 'create energy' depending on the venue they are playing at, regardless if they 'sell out'. You are missing the point and keep digging your hole so much deeper.

Why don't you say what you mean? Speak for yourself here because I know you're jumping in here because you have a personal issue with me.

You need to stay on point on stop directing things at me.

No I'm not missing the point. There is no way in hell that a crappy band is going to create any energy because no one is going to want to see them. That is all that matters when we talk about creating energy around a football team.

Considering this is a thread about a BA wallpaper and your first response to the thread was :
It seems like you are arguing for the sake of arguing and have caused a derailment of like 5 pages due to 'personal issues'... Idk why you are trying to point fingers now. Give it a rest.

    1. @ bold - Yes you are.

    2. @ Italicized - See #1

Bro, the amount of people seeing a 'crappy band' (subjective again) is not going to affect the acoutics of the sound that the venue already provides and supports...Would more people amplify the energy/acoustics? Obviously. But no one is arguing that........ I don't even know what you're talking about anymore.

Now go back and find out when the acoustics, when applied to sports arenas were invernted, then reinvented.

For example, in music you want the sound to be as clear as possible in the back row. In sports, you want almost the exact opposite.

Considering this has went on for months, and I was not the first one to reply on anything. You should go to the post I quoted in that post.

Lol. Don't remember saying anything about it not going on for months, I know because i've been in the middle of several of those threads. DJ's first post was an open sarcasm not directed at anyone, yours was directed at him specifically and seemed spiteful and unwarranted in a thread like this.

And guess what? 5 pages later here we are still talking about it because of YOUR original post. We wouldn't be here without it.

So instead of it being me that is missing the point, it may be you then right?

This goes way back so if you have not followed then you may have jumped in for nothing.

I have never once said there is no such thing as home field advantage. Nor has anyone who has went back and forth with him on this issue. I bring all deflected points back to win now and it will improve. Nothing we can do about the stadium but its not the worse thing in the world.

  10. Ozzy

    Ozzy Premium Member Luxury Box

Yes, it was directed at the ones who've been going back and forth with him on this issue for months. All I said was no one has ever said that to him.

And since you say you've been following it, it is obvious why you're saying I started it. Ok buddy

Huh? You said the OB was built before people understood acoustics in venues. You're wrong about that and wrong by centuries.

  12. Ozzy

    Ozzy Premium Member Luxury Box

Yes, they built it before acoustics were REALLY understood. That's why they're building newer venues totally different now.

The Orange Bowl was not created to be the loudest venue. It was created to hold 78,000 people and not fall apart because it was not created to host musical events.

I don't have a problem with you on a personal level.

I just have problem with a person who disregards information from experts & professionals and then takes it a step further and claims science is for the birds all because you disagree with something.

Essentially what you do, is systematically discount facts, reason, evidence, expert opinion and now, even scientific study, to justify a belief or stance you already held.

By the way, Ozzy, I have no personal issue with you (and hope you don't with me). I just think our stadium was poorly designed; has among the worst if not The worst acoustics in the NFL and is the least intimidating (in terms of fan noise) in the NFL. And, I think that can have an impact on the game as well as the fan attendance and fan experience (which improves attendance - anecdote: when I was a kid living in Buffalo and going to games with a mediocre team; even when we lost the experience was so great - with 80K fans screaming - that I couldn't wait to go back the next week - even if the record was always around the .500 mark or less at times).

I've been to Dolphins stadium in big games back in the day when fans actually expected the team to win and had high hopes of a SB (Marino's era) and though loud it was just not rocking the way I've seen other stadiums and venues.

I think it is the worst designed stadium in the NFL. And, the fact that Goodell will not bring a SB to Miami without a stadium re-design is telling.

Just because an issue has been ongoing does not mean you need to bring it up again in an unrelated thread. DJ may has started it but you did not need to respond to it. Even moreso you did not need to 'quote' him and respond to him with what can be interpreted as an attack, or baiting.

Also - me stating you are trying to prove a point that no one is arguing...... means I am also just as wrong as you? I really just don't even know anymore bro, I feel like my brain cells are being assassinated.

I can't speculate on that, just think the closest thing to a neutral field in the league, that's the best way I can describe it..

We provide a beautiful playing surface, a quiet subdued crowd, (because of the proximity), do not take much practice time away from the opponent in terms of the silent count, a wonderful experience as the opponent starts the game, and restarts the game at the beginning of the third quarter, and no worries by the opponent that they will have to deal with the nerves that come thru intimidation and decibel level of the energy....these elements can affect the mindset of the home and away athlete..

Anyone not seeing the comparisons to real home field advantages to our situation, is either blind homerism, or conceptually not understanding what makes a true home field advantage, and what intrinsically can motivate or demotivate an athlete.

Is this really what phins.com has become? How about we not turn this site into FH. Seems like every thread gets way off topic and dominated by a meaningless arguement. So there is my contribution to the off topicness of this thread.

    End Rant.

My point about musicians is they would tell you that their best performances depend on the intimacy and proximity of the fans to the stage..as in it brings out the best in them, as in they feel compelled to give it their all, their best performance, which all has nothing to do with the amount of people in the building.

It was a total exaggeration..this site does not have this problem.

JT, I apologize for taking the thread off course, for my initial sarcasm came from the multiple comments about the lack of fans in the seats.

What I won't apologize for is trying to get anyone to understand how critical the problems are that we have with our venue..

So are you telling me that the science and central nervous system of an athlete, is prven to basically be the mindset of a football payer by a group of professionals?

Or are you kind of talking about how I've told you that I value my opinion over yours when it comes to the craftsmanship of a logo? Because if it is the latter, I've already explained to you as to why!

  26. Ozzy

Has everything to do with it but the use of the aluminum seats was by accident. That is where a lot of the high pitched noise came from. From all of us banging the aluminum with anything we could find or bring. After a while they would try to take objects away from people if they were using it to bang on the seats

I was pretty clear. If you still don't understand my point on this, you or the logo, there is literally no other way for me to get through to you. The responsibility is on you to stop being purposely obtuse.

No, it was not clear. You used the "for the birds remark" in describing how I ignore proffesional opinions. Which it totally off the wall.

So if it was kind of refering to the logo then you should be quiet. I've stated a few times that I am a proffesional artist and that I value my opinion more. That's not a knock on you either so if its hard to deal with what can you do....

On one hand you are saying that you understand what a true home field advantage is, and on the other, your saying that there's nothing wrong with our venue but missing people..

I should of listened to Fin when he said this is all I Need to know, cause your perspective on this topic is mindblowingly frustrating, and totally oblivious..

Ive said a thousand times that Seattle stadium will NEVER be in Miami. What I'm saying is that if the renovations are done, it will HAVE to be the team to create any type of atmosphere. It will not be the fans creating it for them.

You're theory of the stadium being the glaring problem has been, very recently, proven wrong. The National Championship game was cranking! Could it be better? Absolutely but the fans are missing at Dolphins games for a reason and it's not the stadium.

  32. Ozzy

    Ozzy Premium Member Luxury Box

We have absolutely no problem whatsoever. The stadium is actually perfect for Super Bowls. The stadium is not the reason that Miami has hosted so many SB's but it has not held them back either. Goodell wants a roof and that's what might ruin the remodel the most. Unless they were asking for 600,000,000 because to do the inside of the structure even half correct, it's going to cost AT LEAST 400,000,000 of that.

I talk about the Seattle stadium because its relevant to the conversation of what makes a true home field advantage, same with the raven stadium reference, the range bowl discussion, Cameron indoor, etc, because sun life was sold out for the national championship game means jack sh&$, relatively speaking..

Here's where you say, but it was really loud in sun life that night..correction, it was loud-er..

I laughed when you said I'm proven wrong because every seat was filled.

  34. Ozzy

You're laughing at yourself then because it was cranking, and I never said anything about it being sold out. That stadium was damn loud and it was even mentioned by others...

A bowl game selling out like it should and being relatively loud has no bearing in a coversation about how the stadium venue has terrible placement, poor/dry atmosphere and desperately needs improvement.

No one is saying the team doesn't need to improve the product on the field to bring fans back, for the umteen millionth time. Thats a given. A given that is always unnecessarily being thrown into this conversation. You don't need to neglect the fact that the stadium has some of the worst placement and design settings than any other in the league, thus suffocating any possible chance of emitting the true energy level a real HFA can provide, nowadays. It's not 'one or the other', it's both. so stop defending it like thats the actual argument.
All this recent culture shifting is a coupling. (new staff, and new philosophies on coaching, talent acquisition, and possibly the draft acquisitions, coupled together with new logo, new uni's/colors and desperately needed stadium renovations.) Both were/are needed equally for this team, so there is no point in trying to argue over the prioritization of the two.

The problem with this argument is, and always will be this - we see both as a problem that needs to be addressed - you choose to only see one. And there is only one reason for that.

You have it all wrong. I've listed the issues with the stadium over and over and over and over. In this thread even. However, I do not overlook the fact that what needs to be done cannot, and will not, be done. The proposed plan to renovate is adding seats at the bottom and taking away some at the top. That's a poor band-aid.

What I stress is, and you just said it's a given to part of it, is the fact that building a consistent team has to be first and foremost (And of course they can start working on the stadium renovations now). That will absolutely create a better environment for the fans to enjoy. This is not about fans making it fun for the team. It's about the team creating the energy needed.

I've seen the stadium work to the teams advantage first hand but they were consistently competing for more than just a possible playoff spot.

This is not a viable business model for the NFL. You're essentially saying that half the teams will play in empty stadiums.

I do agree that the renovations is a poor bandaid, but your posts before don't ever call it a sore to begin with, you constantly defend the building..the building is an open wound, I'll take the bandaid, cause if we leave it as is, it stays infected...
