    I agree. Johnson is the most athletic of the 3 and should ultimately be the best pass blocker. He proved to be as strong as the other two also. Johnson has LT feet the likes of which have not been seen since Walter Jones was in his prime.

    Nolan Carroll has a lot of potential at CB, and is extremely cheap. He isn't going anywhere.

    4 eyes and 2 different results. I love sports. This will make me go back and watch some more.

    I came away seeing Joeckel's feet always chopping. This was the first thing that made me go, "Yep. Thats your #1 stauts right there." Oline coaches go home and make love to their wives inspired by that kind of footwork. And he is strong. He must be. You'll see him get bull-rushed, put on skates for 2 yards and completey regain. I'm uncertain if that's pure strength or great technique, keeping lower than the defender. It has to be a little of both. But to start off getting your butt whooped and just stop on a dime, you have to be strong. I'll watch some more but I can't grasp that he's stronger than Johnson, at least not from a punching perspective. He does not push defenders as far wide as Johnson, not from the tape I've seen anyway.

    I don't think Johnson has the same footwork but it certainly doesn't affect the way he moves. I really see 2 very similar players; one has more finess, the other has more strength, both have a good amount of both. Johnson earns my money, if I had any, in goal line. I think Thomas and the end zone have a beautiful life ahead of them. And the matchmaker could be Lane Johnson.

    Actually, if I were Ireland and had my choice of all 3 tackles, I'd take Fisher. Johnson 2nd.

    According to Profootballtalk.com, "some" people around the league believe West Virginia WR Tavon Austin's over-under in April's draft is pick No. 15.

    The Rams pick at No. 16 and the feeling around the league is ostensibly that Austin wouldn't get past their selection. The Saints have the 15th pick. New Orleans seems more likely to focus on defense in the first round, but could be stationed in a bit of a "hotspot" for a team like the pick-rich 49ers to trade into. Pre-draft rumors have San Francisco interested in a move up for Austin.

    Its basically....if Martin wasn't so poor or....such a big question mark then we would be grabbing Austin. Hope it doesn't come back to haunt us but protecting the guy who sets the tone and is the trigger of the Offense is where it starts. As much as getting ANOTHER LT won't sit well with me but I am a realist.

    I'm fist in line at the Austin-doesn't-make-sense premier and I'm the first hypocrite begging for a spread attack, "this isn't your father's game anymore."

    This coaching staff scares me. It doesn't scare you? Was Reggie ever spread wide? Was Bess ever used to his strengths? Maybe I set the bar too high but Sherman did not bring the pass-attack I hoped he would. Perhaps he it was due to lack of weapons hence, FA.

    Lacking a LT concerns me even more- not much to be done if Tanne is more concerned about his blind side than a timed route.

    Out of Austin and Eifert, I prefer Eifert. If Tanne is going to be rushed more often than not, I'd rather him have a target he can lob to; ugly, high, and the run.

    At least we have fun ahead of us. Can we really be devasted at any of the options in front of us? That makes free agency even more successful. They trade one 1st day pick to move up for Johnson- gutsy move, maybe a solid LT for the next 5-10 years. They take Austin at 12- exciting as hell. Smart? Debatable. Exciting? Not debatable. They take Eifert- awesome. A DB- needed. A DE- our rush needs a ton of improvement.

    Out of all of the above, to me, DE would be the most lackluster pick. I love me some 3rd reich might but the excite is not as right.

    We spread Bush out wide with our total lack of Running Back power? Not really on the cards. Bush behind Tannehill was our meat and gravy. We just didnt have the players to spread it out and cause Defenses to get confused and be unable to commit and step back and let us dictate.

    I think he could easily go to the Panthers at 14 who scheduled him for a private workout IIRC..... and the Bucs at 13 could see Tavon as a deadly compliment to Jackson, Williams, and Martin, and T.B needs to score more points to keep up with and surpass Atlanta & N.O in their own division.

    Rumors are going strong that I was way off with my guess and that Tampa is in love with Floyd/Star/Richardson. They need DT help

    Also looking at Xavier Rhodes

    Guys Id like to see us look at in later rounds:

    Abry Jones, DT, Georgia - Big, agile man who played DE in UGA's 3-4 but will likely get a chance as a 4-3 DT. Coming off an injury that didnt allow him to participate in many pre-draft workouts. Love him in the late rounds.

    Jordan Rodgers, QB, Vanderbilt - Likely an FA signing, I love his skillset even if he never put it all together at Vandy. Maybe the Philbin/Packers/Aaron Rodgers connection can turn him into a future prospect. I do believe we will draft a QB in the late rounds- would love to nab him late.

    Earl Watford, OG, James Madison - I dont pretend to know small school OL prospects well at all, but this is a guy who caught my attention. Athletic and well balanced for an interior lineman but also seems to have some strength. He played lower level competition so who knows if he can compete

    Cornlieus Washington, DE, Georgia - Off the charts as an athlete and has pass rush skills to be a disruptor in the Pros. Another guys who played out of position in Athens when Todd Grantham moved to the 3-4 but he would fit right in as a 4-3 DE. Has many of the same attibutes as Cam Wake. Dont know how early wed have to go to take him however. Will he last until round four or five?

    I forgot the Bucs signed Kevin Ogletree so scratch Austin off the list.
    I could see Tampa's top 4 being (with Star & Floyd already off the board):
    1. Jarvis Jones
    2. Richardson
    3. Rhodes

    a) Bucs have nothing at SAM, and Jones fit Tampa's defensive player mold to a T, IMO.
    b) The loss of Michael Bennett leaves them short in the pressure department (which they can get from both Jones & Richardson).
    c) Bucs already have a stout 280 pound hybrid caliber LDE, DaQuan Bowers, to pair Jones with.
    d) The depth of corner and defensive tackle this draft makes Jones & Te'o more enticing in round 1.

    Bucs could go:
    1. Jarvis Jones
    2. DT Sylvester Williams
    3. CB BW Webb
    3. CB Tyrann Mathieu (package both 4's to move up if Mathieu is there in the mid-late 3rd)
    5. TE Chris Gragg (need TE help after loss of Dallas Clark)
    That would be an impressive addition to their defense IMO.

    Now I have to beg for a certain few scenarios -

    Floyd or Star drops to #12. Miami then trades down with someone hoping to leapfrog Tampa Bay, picks up a decent value of picks (more than a straight value chart trade, we need to be woo'd) and Miami then selects their #1 guy regardless.

    Sad thing is, with Star dropping there, it likely means several things. 1) Austin is gone 2) All the LTs with a 1st round grade are gone and 3) some team was stupid enough to draft Nassib in the top 10.

    Johnson is a true, true athlete. Long and relatively lean, but he plays with power and aggression. I don't want to place too much
    importance on the combine, but when a player shows that kind of power blocking and pass pro in games then looks that fast, lean and quick at the combine... if he isn't an elite athlete, he's awful close imo. Best feet I've seen since D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

    If not for Jon Martin being drafted last year I'd be interested in Lane Johnson 1st rd and Menelik Watson 2nd rd, which would make some want to gag but Tannehill has to be protected. Actually, my top 3 in no particular order for pick #12 are Johnson, Tavon Austin and Star Lotuleilei. We could do worse than a Johnson/Watson combo, and that could look mighty good in hindsite if Tannehill is repeatedly kissing the dirt next year- plenty of other picks for DBs, DEs and maybe another WR. If that actually happened I'm not sure what to do with Mmartin, maybe make a mobile Guard out of him. I'm not giving up on him, but he'll quickly be part of the problem or part of the solution.

    Top three I like are Austin, Johnson and Cooper.

    If not Austin, I suppose I'd be happy with either of the other two penciled in at either LT or RG.

    But, I would not want to trade up for Johnson. I suppose they might. I wouldn't be surprised if Johnson went #1 overall to KC.

    If I were KC I'd take Johnson over Joeckel from the games I've seen. Johnson has been moved around a lot but his athleticism - pretty off the charts. And if you are in a passing league, protecting the QB is huge.

    Ogletree signed really cheaply. I doubt having him would make the Bucs bypass Austin if they wanted him before signing Ogletree.

    The Bucs scored plenty last year.

    If they go offensive, I see them picking Eifert before Austin

    Not plenty enough to go toe to toe vs N.O & Atlanta 4 times per year (who scored a combined 100 points MORE than T.B last year). Context.

    Dont know if this was posted or not - running list of players who have visited/will visit with Miami:

    The running list, compiled from various league sources (we will update this as we hear more):

    * Missouri DT Sheldon Richardson, a potential top-10 pick, will visit the Dolphins’ facility on April 8.
    * Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson, a potential top-10 pick, met privately with the Dolphins at the University of Tennessee in March.
    * UNC RB Giovani Bernard, a Ft. Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas grad and potential second-round pick who rushed for just under 2,500 yards the past two seasons, visited the Dolphins facility in March.
    * Utah DT Star Lotulelei, a likely first-round pick, was personally observed at his Pro Day on March 20 by Dolphins defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers.
    * Florida LB Jelani Jenkins, a potential mid-round pick, is visiting the Dolphins’ facility today.
    * FIU SS Jonathan Cyprien, a potential late-first or second-round pick, will participate in the local prospect workout on Wednesday.
    * Clemson WR DeAndre “Nuk” Hopkins, a potential late-first or second-round pick, doesn’t have a visit set up, but the Dolphins met with him in Indy at the Combine and are said to be very interested.
    * Oregon LB Kiko Alonzo, a mid-round pick, ate dinner and met privately for over two hours with Chris Grier, Dolphins director of college scouting, the night before his Pro Day last month.
    * Florida K Caleb Sturgis, who likely will be drafted, does not have a visit or workout lined up with the Dolphins, but has had several good chats with Dolphins special teams coach Darren Rizzi, who is said to like Sturgis’ leg strength and believes he could be the best kicker in the draft.
    * Texas Tech C Deveric Gallington, a three-year starter for the Red Raiders, wrote on Twitter this morning: “Just got off the phone with the Miami Dolphins, might be learning from the homie @MikePouncey in the future.”

    Local Prospect Workouts on April 3:

    * USF CB Kayvon Webster
    * Cincinnati WR Kenbrell Thompkins
    * UCF SS Kemal Ishmael
    * USF TE Evan Landi
    * Minnesota CB Mike Carter
    * Mount Union WR Mike Denton
    * FIU G/C Shae Smith
    * Wagner ILB Mike Lombardo
    * Notre Dame P Ben Turk (son of former Dolphins P Matt Turk)

    And from the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson:

    * Miami CB Brandon McGee
    * Miami RB Mike James
    * Miami OLB Ramon Buchanan
    * Miami S Vaughn Telemaque
    * Florida LB Jon Bostic
    * Ohio State LB Etienne Sabino
    * Ohio State CB Travis Howard

    Bucs defense also had no Adrian Clayborn.
    DaQuan Bowers was recovering from achilles injury. <whom T.B expects big things from this year>
    Had 2 rookies plus 1 second year guy starting <Barron, David, Foster>.
    Eric Wright missed 6 games and had a down year.
    Didn't have Dashan Goldson last year.
    Currently have $27 million in available cap space to plug the remaining few holes.
    Still have a decent chance for a Revis trade as the draft gets here.

    They were #1 vs the run with 3.5 YPC & 82.5 YPC..... and they should improve considerably vs the pass by having their young, talented, pass rushers healthy and on the field, their top corner on the field and back to form, Barron & LaVonte David a year seasoned (who are great vs the pass), and the addition of a Pro Bowl FS. Then if Revis happens? Cmon. It's a talented young group that's still developing and ascending. Context.

    lol, Idk why you are arguing this point.

    But. They lost bennett and barber, and Wright might be lucky to make the team.

    If we think our cb situation is snafu just look at Tampa.

    I'm just saying, they could really improve that secondary and what I originally was saying is that they would probably do better drafting Eifert.. I think their starting te is Luke stocker.

    Damn damn damn. Actually I'm disappointed yet excited at the same time considering I'm a defensive guy at heart.
    Difficult not to move up to 3 for Jordan when the cost of doing so probably wasn't much more than moving up to 6'ish for Austin. Likely the difference between our first 2nd and second 2nd. Not to mention, if we're pursuing Albert we'd want to keep 54 open for him, so we really had no option but go balls out if we wanted to trade up.
