Boston Globe actually mentions Yeatman before local media. I think he might get a better shot than some think. Got those lacrosse feet. Athletic and could be the zone tackle they are looking for. I give him the benefit of a doubt.
It's gonna be interesting how our line shakes out. If yeatmam can grab a spot that would be amazing. Perfect world Jerry and yeatman battle for RT and become all-pros in the process
I watched an interview the Phinsiders did with former Giants offensive lineman, Shaun O'Hara, a couple days ago and he made mention of the benefit that certain offensive lineman have if they're groomed into that from another position i.e. Lance Louis moving from tight end, etc.. I immediately thought of Yeatman.
Only if you're not paying attention. Philbin has mentioned him quite a few times already this offseason. Def an interesting prospect.
Yeatman is the guy no one is really talking about Except Joe Philbin. http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?75827-New-Article-about-Philbin-from-the-Boston-Globe
Well. We have a,couple of those rags-to-ritches stories in Cam Wake and Devonne Bess. 1 more would be very nice indeed.
Ideally I'd like to give him 1 more year of learning the position. They're already hoping and praying Martin holds up at LT.
Focused on Yeatman in the preseason games last year. He has really nice feet and balance. What little I saw of him impressed me. He definitely looked better than Martin, although when he was in the game he was going against 2s and 3s of the opposing team, so it wasn't a fair comparison.
I'm more interested in Josh Samuda,Chandler Burden, and Jeff Adams than I am in Yeatman. I definitely think at least one of these guys is going to develop into a top tier talent eventually. I think it will depend on character, on drive. Of all four, Adams is probably the most gifted physically and mentally; but like Jonathan Martin, he came into the league a pathetic weakling.
Yeah, I agree...there's been a lot of talk since Long decided to move on about Yeatman coming from Philbin and Ireland. Whether that talk was all coach/GM speak, we don't know yet, but there's been a lot of talking about him... It's like the Marshall and Patterson talk...maybe they did it somewhere else, but we haven't seen any of those guys do very much here, so as fans, we're in a 'wait and see' mode on them...
Philbin loves Yeatman. I mentioned this to someone the other day that is all upset that Miami hasn't signed Winston yet. I don't know if he is the answer, but you never know.
I am interested in those guys as well, particularily Samuda. It wouldn't bother me if any or all of them developed. But I like Yeatman too.
I don't see Philbin as a smoke screen guy. I believe he likes Yeatman's potential. He may or may not be right, but I don't think he's lying.
Oh, yeah...I agree...I think they see something in the kid too. It's just difficult for most of us fans to look at a depth chart and see Marshall, Patterson, Yeatman (admittedly a bigger reach) as starters without wondering "What are these guys thinking?"...I hope they prove us wrong the the kid turns into a player...we'll have to wait and see...
Could be... I dismissed that talk (before Long signed with the Rams) as posturing by Irish and co. to work on Long.... I know that it was brought up more often after he signed away to where it is today...
