so a Guard with a torn ACL and a possible CB with a torn achilles heel, well that drew brees medical staff regime must be long gone
I did a little research on that a month or so ago, and it appeared to me we have had the same team Physicians for further back than 2006.
I expect the Dolphins to draft one or maybe two guards in the draft, and probably bring in some really good college free agents
Any thoughts on Chris Carr? Seems like his situation is similar to Grimes, coming off of injury but had a great yr two years ago.
I think the Grimes interest is real and if he is signed I would also expect at least one CB to be picked in the first 5 picks.
Eh, suspect Ireland is planing on drafting some Cb's and is low balling him. As far as the player goes, Achilles injuries are tricky, some guys never recover, others are comeback 100%, hard to tell w/o seeing him play. OmarK finally caught on to something I mentioned last week, Ireland prefers to draft expensive positions rather than sign FA's, as some adore pointing out "..even #2 Cb's get 7 million per yr.." No way Ireland is paying that kind of money for a Cb, so I looked at available in Fa Cb and thought Webb had been the most recently effective of the Hall's and Ashmougha's of the bunch who is likely to come in at that 4 million per yr max price tag.
Wonder how long they've been team medical staff because if I remember correctly phins have always had medical problems even with players like ok mcduffie and I believe Gadsden.
well Gadsden was already wrecked up when he came here no ? mcduffie is another story, a quick McDuffie story i´m buddy with anthony sanneh former US soccer player, when he was still in berlin playing for the local soccer team, that is almost like 10 years ago, anyways he had this girl friend, don´t remember her name that was engaged with mcduffie and we would always call her in the morning, when we knew she wasn´t there just to wake him up and then we did hang up the phone, pretty childish i know but funny as hell
According to Lacanfora, we're zeroing in on Grimes. With a deal "soon." No link, saw it on Facebook Oh nm, this might be old
After we just paid out the *** for Wallace No way Grimes should be that expensive either after his injuries.
Well Grimes is guaranteed to start with our situation at CB. That may be a plus if Grimes wants to be back playing. Who knows.
Here's his latest tweet about Grimes. @JasonLaCanfora: @sportsman91 finals decision in the next 24 hrs. Fins are right there
Fingers crossed , it would be a key signing ( providing he is healthy ) and I would really be encouraged going into the draft.
I'm pretty confident we will have a FA at CB in. Going into the Draft, even if we draft 2 CBs is alot to ask to expect them to step right in. Its a huge ask imo. Even covering the slot as 3rd CB is so important.
I think a Grimes signing would be pretty big to help us be a bit freer in the draft. Nothing is guaranteed on Grimes return to full speed at the start of the season. But, still it's big. I really want him for two years at a good price. That might give him and the Dolphins some security. I think he'll be a better player in 2014 than in 2013. But still would bring some depth and stability to the spot this year.
Aside from Grimes (29), these DB's are still available: Tracy Porter (26 - must be a medical issue with him, otherwise I dont know why hes still available) Nnamdi Asomugha (31 - Will command top dollar and more of a press guy) Mike Jenkins (28 - Ex Cowboys - lost his starting job last seaso) DeAngelo Hall (only 29 - thought he was much older. Probably not a fit) Quentin Jammer (33 - Older and slow) Antoine Winfield (35 but still playing at a very high level) William Gay (28 - four year starter with Steelers and Cardinials)
La Canfora's track record has been pretty rotten this year, he was wrong about Jared Cook signing here as well as Long, both went to the Rams when he said they were leaning towards Miami. So take what he says with a grain of salt, he probably is just guessing.
This is non-scientific on my part, of course, but I'm thinking that La Canfora is bound to guess correctly at some point. Why not now?
