Sup homey Its the only forum he can moderate. So this stuff up in here...yeah, he runs this biatch. Muck, myself and all the rest just help where we can.
I obviously BS a lot... but considering the **** you two have to deal with in this league, ya do a hell of a job. And what the hell is up with the site tonight... keep getting errors.
Also the write up for my Te'o pick is complete. Mad scientist Petey Carroll is drooling over his new toy in our 3-3-5 D.

I would be really interested to see a 3-3-5 in the NFL. The team I coach ran that a couple years ago. Who do you have playing bandit and rover?
Typically the rover role is filled by a SS in a coverage role but for us its Bobby Wagner because of his range and speed. The rover role in a lot of ways in going away. Its just smply a coverage backer position more then anything. In our case it works cause Wagner's a beast in run support. Te'o will see most of his time as a bandit but occasionally he will be dropped in coverage or if we go to a 3-4 look he can fit a blitzing LB role. Thomas Davis also allows us a lot of coverage flexibility... As for our base, it will look something like this: Closed End: Justin Smith NT: Terrence Cody Open End: Derrick Morgan Leo Backer: Irvin (Backups: Ayers/Te'o) Rover: Wagner Bandit: Akeem Ayers (Backup: Te'o) CB; Sherman CB: Champ Slot CB: Boykin/Marshall FS: Earl Thomas SS: Rhodes
Not necessarily. I have LB's that can move and cover (Wagner, Davis, Rivers). Teo also had 7 ints last year so he can definitely play the ball. Its going to have more 3-4 elements then 4-3. Think size more then speed among the front 7 which is one of the reasons we have 5 DB's on the field.
Don't get me wrong I like Te'o, but pointing to the fact that he had 7 interceptions so he can definitely play the ball is a fallacy. Most of those interceptions came from tipped balls that shot 10+ feet in the air. Yes, he made heads up plays catching the ball but it wasn't like he was covering a guy and made a play on the ball. In the 3-3-5 he wouldn't need to be great in coverage though. I love Te'o in the 3-4, but am curious how the other LBs on your team would be able to handle the 3-4 considering their size and block-shedding ability. I love Wagner and him and Te'o would be great inside together, but the OLBs would not be able to play the 3-4, in my opinion. Also it is my understanding that in the 3-3-5 the DL size is a vital factor, but the LBs need to be super fast and instinctual to play in the 3-3-5. Wagner would be awesome in the 3-3-5 but IDK about Te'o. Unless you play Te'o at MLB, move Wagner to OLB and have another super fast OLB on the other side of Te'o to compensate for his speed a bit. That could work pretty well in my opinion. EDIT: Sorry, I know I am not supposed to talk about other players, but I live for the draft and love talking about prospects. Plus, I already said I was considering Te'o at 35 where we took Arthur Brown and it came within 2 minutes of us not being able to make the pick in time (even after trading back to think about it more); so you know how much I like Te'o. Great pick still.
Maybe it's because I'm a football junkie, but I absolutely love this. It's great to see something different. As for Teo taking flak about not being a coverage LB, I don't see the criticism. He's not the fastest guy, but he did fine in coverage (as his INTs show), and it's not like he'll be running with TE's up the seam or anything. I doubt you would be running man very much, at least not under the base 3-3, so he has to be responsible in his zone. The most room he would probably have to cover at bandit is getting out to the flats, which I don't see being an issue for him.
Well like you said in a 3-3-5 he doesn't need to be great in coverage but he he can definitely play the ball. The fact that a few of those int's came on tips doesnt take away from that as there is a reason coaches practice that. Most of them came on clean catches though. Also, you think of a 3-4 in a modern day sense like the Steelers play it now as opposed to the way it was played back in 70's and 80's. A 3-4 doesnt have to have 2 set edge rushers like a Woodley and Harrison for example and a traditional edge setting SOLB. It simply is designed to confuse the defense and make the QB guess where the 4th and 5th pass rushers are coming from. If I keep Irvin in a pass rush role, which I obviously would since thats the whole point of having him, then I can simply rotate which is the 5th blitzer between Ayers (my edge setter and SOLB), Te'o and Wagner. A 3-3-5 in the manner in which I'm playing it is a zone. Thats going to make QB reads harder and help to compensate for a perceived lack of speed. Personally I dont get that gripe though. Ayers, Wagner and Irvin have proven they can run and Te'o improved his time at his pro day yesterday. Additionally, Te'o plays faster in games I think then he does on stopwatches which falls in line with many Polynesian players. Also we are allowed to talk about players who have been taken. Just not ones that are still out there...
